Burt Bacharach - Hal David. Instrumental From The Motion Picture Soundtrack - Casino Royale. Composed, Arranged And Conducted By Burt Bacharach #BurtBacharachLookOfLove
Ahhh,1983,Frenchman's Reef,St.Thomas, and a glass elevator-and then a private beach. What a day...what a memory;and this song was playing in the elevator...sigh.
Oh how I long for Burt Bacharach's music again.....No one will ever hold a candle to his looks, laugh and his genius caring way of music & lyrical composition.... I will always be in love with this guy !!!
I was in elementary grade school when I saw Casino Royale at the movies. It has made a lasting impression on me. Here I am listening to this after I got off work after midnight and I'm 60 years old now but the songs like this one, still move me to listen because they are still fresh with no expiration date.
Because this version was done by the person that actually produced it in his mind....Burt Bacharach....think about how this song was mentally conceived and performed by that same person....a true Genius.
One of the very, very good things about growing old is thinking back on the special moments and memories and this music puts you back in the mood of remembering special people.
A masterpiece of the golden age of music , when talent was not only a virtue, but its usual characteristic. Thanks to Burt & Hall, eternized by melodies like this.
Oh, I just remembered how beautiful this song is! I have loved Burt Bacharach since I was a kid. I remember people smiling at me when I was 6 and said he was my favorite composer. He is one reason I enjoyed being a musician throughout my life. Such a rich sound, always.
I can see Burts twinkle in his eyes when I hear this sultry love song....He was by far the most handsome and most talented man that ever walked the earth...
A classic Bacharach-Hal David arrangement like no others. Will be a long time before these two are comparable to who??? Many words of wisdom to all.......................................
I was 22 in 1969 and I remember going to work on the radio listening to all of these songs: The Carpenters, Dionne Watwick, Aretha Franklin , etc. ignorant of the composer. A musical master Mr. Bacharach.
I wish we could go back to a Bacharach world. Lord knows there would be better music, to say nothing of class and taste. Just turn the clock back about 45 years. Wish it were possible but those days are gone forever. No way to recapture magic of past. Here's a toast to you, great Mr. Bacharach.
As a teen some forty years ago, I had an LP that included this very version of this wonderful love song, of which I've never heard a bad rendition - but then I've never gone anywhere that karaoke was being sung ;>) The LP was called something like The Best of Bacharach with Burt conducting the orchestra. It also had several other great songs; besides this lovely number, the other one that sticks in my mind is his terrific torch song, A House is Not a Home.
I am listening to a You Tube Pop mix, most of the songs from the 60's and 70's, (my youth) with a few from later, and it gets me wondering what is the garbage they call music today? Completely tuneless. Music like this is timeless.
It certainly is. I hadn't seen it in years, until I watched it again a couple of times a year or so ago after getting it on DVD from Amazon. I remember seeing it as an 18-year-old when it first came out, and being profoundly affected. I'd already read the play, but the movie opened up the action, of course, and I thought it was close to perfect, from the casting, directing, and acting to the cinematography, scenery, costumes, and, of course the music!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR BACHARACH: There are like a thousand songs to hear today on celebration of your life and masterpieces. Very hard to choose my favorite, but this may be the one, or Close to you, or Rain drops.., or, or and so for a thousand songs...
me encanta toda la musica de burt bacharach, lo considero como uno de los mejores compositores del mundo, sus canciones aun se escuchan en varios ritmos que perduraran x siempre
He was a fantastic lyricist, he and Bacharach made a great team together and had so many beautiful on the adult contemporary charts. Too bad Bacharach was such jerk, many said he was very difficult to work for.
64 years old and reminiscing profusely. So many vivid memories of being in love.

My favorite rendition of this song, the instrumentation being so well-understated and not overly-arranged.
Beautiful song, composition, orchestra structure ... everything!
That was very beautiful, Burt Bacharach played nothing but beautiful music, during the age of love songs, and Hal David wrote the lyrics!
My mum & dad used to play this song & I still like it..50 odd years later

A little love needs to be shown here for Hal David, who wrote the beautiful lyrics.
