A song is a living thing. It's not to be sung once and then locked up never to dare touch it again! Loosen up people! I think this was just gorgeous. That is my opinion and yes, someone else may disagree. Is there a polka version? If there is, that may be the favorite of somebody out there and you can't take their enjoyment away from them. I remember watching Diana sing this when it was first on PBS and that feeling - where is she going with this? The intro I consider brilliant. Have seen it several times over the years and watched it twice again today. And I always marvel - how'd she do that? I think Mr Bacharach was blown away by the originality. Ms Krall is a true musical artist.

Here in this uptempo variation the song is given new life. Such is the power of a great tune... performed by an exceptionally talented artist.
Dusty did set the standard on this, which is a high bar. But Diana sounded beautiful. Totally nailed it and does not deserve the negative comments here. Come on people, a great girl with a great voice should be appreciated.
