Hi, Do you have or could you make a A-Z tutorial for the XYZ and Repetier incl. bed leveling profiles etc? And could you upload the profile files? yzgyr
hey thanks for all your videos btw... so I've got my davinci humming along, but want to use abs, it loads, pushes out some plastic, but when I try to run a job, it says "out of filament". I have the early, 1.0 HOWEVER, I replaced the extruder with one from a brand new da vinci 1.0 (so I think its the 1.0A) can't figure out how to get the printer to recognize that the filament is there, any ideas?
I have the same pla it's excellent. 195 is also the temp I use I had the same issue with it sticking too well. I now use a water/PVA mix that is mostly water for adhesive. I peals off much nicer. Have you use any PLA from hobbyking? I bought some from them and I cannot get any good prints out of it.
Dopesoner what bed settings are you using in Cura slicer I have a Da Vinci 1.0 which I flash to Repetier, and my prints are not centered on the bed.The machine prints more to the right side of the bed on the X axis , Thanks for your help.
robotluke123 I believer the creator is working on an attachment for the laser, I know he is using his as a cnc and a 3d printer so I may do that with mine not positive yet. Its fully up and working. I am just rewiring it all to clean it up, then printing some legs for it. Then learning how to use it begins :p
Hey man, I'm trying to load the PLA filament but when I print, nothing comes out :/ any tips on how to properly load it? Running the same settings with Repetier.
Hey, i recently flashed my davinci 1.0, and im currently working with PLA. On the first print i had some issue on the edges, but it was printing. Now my extruder jamms, so my theory is that when i load the filament (default temperature is 230) it gets too hot so when i need to actually print something, it does not flow well. So, given that, how can i change that loading temperature and what else do you think might be wrong? Ps: ive already cleaned up the extruder.
I'm using now for more than 18 Months a heated glass bed 65°C start temp and 60°C print temp. For each print I wipe my bed with saturated sugar water. As from the start I'm using this method on all three printers, I'm a happy man. Saturated sugar water is a mix of about 60% sugar and 40% water boiled until the sugar is fully dissolved. 1 liter takes me away for two months and cost me near to nothing. I use sugar water for all my materials
Interested to know what tutorial you are following for the CNC as my chinese CNC has just died on me and i am looking for another project to go with the 3d printer.
Hi! I've got a 1.0A like yours and it's running Repetier 0.92, I'm using Slic3r and Repetier-Host on my PC but every time I try to print PLA it starts to click and jam after about 2 minutes. I have put a lil' heatsink over the threaded rod thing that the filament travels through and it doesnt seem to make a difference. I use PrimaPLA at its lowest temperature (190C) and the bed at 30C. Do you know why this is happening? Thanks
Hi! I have a question, mabye yoy can help me. I've reset my davinci 1.0 (using your vids hahaha thx for that) And I'm using PLA but I'm having that noise (like a click) in the extruder, the first layer was perfect, without that clicking, the second layer starts to make that noise... I've tried modifying the temperature from 195 to 240 degrees, but I'm still having the click sound. Thanks!
The clicking sound is the filament getting jammed up in the extruder. This is caused by the filament melting before it gets to the hot end. You need a way to cool down the filament before it gets to the hot end. The best way is to add a extra fan. There are clip on 3D printed parts for this on thingivirse just search "Davinci" and it will be one of them.
Great video! keep the 3D printing videos coming. Anyway you can link me to the CNC tutorial you're following. Been wanting to purchase one but if I can 3D print most the parts and save myself some money that would be awesome. Also just picked up an E3D v6 for my xyz 1.0, but haven't installed it yet. From what I've read should be a major improvement
***** Thank you very much, I plan on it. If you cant tell im sort of hooked on 3d printing there is just so much to it and so much evolving. I cant get bored of it when they keep coming out with upgrades, and new pieces and designs its crazy! I have been eyeballing that extruder. I will be doing a swap on mine as well in the not so distant future!
Thanks IndaLight. I've only had my printer for a couple months now and I'm the same way thedopesoner930. I always constantly printing something even if it's nothing I really need to to test out what it can do. Main reason I haven't been able to install the hotend yet.
***** haha this is true, alot changes as you get older I am a much different person today than I was when I started 5 years ago at 18. Xbox modding did bring me to all of this it made me discover my love to tinker, customize, and build.
so I'm making a little whale and the fins are in the air. I haven't used my printer in a while and I remember everything but the support setting to do. what support setting should I do? the honeycomb one uses to much filament.
I just got my printer back up in running after over 6 months of down time so I really don't remember off the top of my head I haven't printed anything aside from simple shapes trying to get everything dialed in!
+Dopesoner haha same. having issues with the printer. borrowed it from the company for a state fair and they never called me back to have it back so we just held onto it. lol
+Dopesoner its like the printer you have, just without the case. the extruder isn't spitting out the plastic so I think its time to give it up... I'm getting a job soon (16 right now) so I'll start saving up for the printer brand you have.

Hey bud, can you share your settings? I am not having any luck getting the filament to stick.
I am just in the middle of converting mine to repetier host. This is very helpful. Cheers
globulas1 you wont regret it bro!

what speeds are you running at for PLA

Not sure what settings you are using but I get crap prints with pla with those temps as well would you mind sharing your settings.
Hi, I have a xyz 3 in 1 pro, today is my first print, and I'm battleing with the settings, what is the best setting for pla?
I have the same pla it's excellent. 195 is also the temp I use I had the same issue with it sticking too well. I now use a water/PVA mix that is mostly water for adhesive. I peals off much nicer. i also had bad luck with sli3er but good luck with cura. Great video!!!

Thanks, heaps. I'll try that. I've been heating my bed to 50 degrees and my prints wouldn't come off. I'll try no heat and the painter's tape next.
Awesome! Can't wait to see that cnc up and running. You should make a laser cutter too!

You solved so many of my problems but I still want to print abs and maybe in a new video you can share you config settings?
Hi! your extruder does not used to clog when you started to print with pla?

Could you tell us what brand of PLA filament you are using?
Dave
great video, any issues ising the stock hot end clogging up using pla?
+David Johnson running an upgrade hotend now but never ran into any issues with it at all

globulas1 I am nearing the finish line with mine. Here is a link to the cnc project: www.thingiverse.com/thing:724999
Thanks for sharing that .. That`s pretty cool but I will have to finish off my other projects first or the wife will be on to me!! ;-)

Hi! I have the same problem as you. Have you been able to solve it?
Anyone know if the 1.1 can run repetier host?
nice video and very smooth prints. can you show us the settings in slicer ? and some more tips if i have different printer ?
Thank you! My printer is just back up after being down for 6 months once I have everything dialed in I can make a video on what I use for slicer!
thank you so much bro!
+Dopesoner Is that video by chance up?

I't was the retraction, there's no more clicking.
Thanks!
what did you set the retraction to?
Which CNC were you printing ?
What's the speed you are using?
When you say you print at "50% speed" what does this mean? 50% of what? I only speed settings expressed in mm/s in the CuraEngine settings.
did you have a hard time switching like jamming
Hairspray is a great bonder

how do you send from Cura to XYZ?! I just got my XYZ and it doesnt seem to want to accept Cura
is it a XYZprinting Davinci 1.0 or something else
how do you level your bed? thanks
How do you update repetier to the new version
Are you heating the Bed?
Looking back you have so many different types of videos O.o

Why do you print with Skirts?
Hope you got that cable tied back up thats dragging on the metal bars!

+Dopesoner its like the printer you have, just without the case. the extruder isn't spitting out the plastic so I think its time to give it up... I'm getting a job soon (16 right now) so I'll start saving up for the printer brand you have.
Mine curls a lot
Like it goes in fine and then 10 minutes later I look back and everything is peeling offf
