RUclips: Here's a 20 minute video of someone sorting coins
Me: JUST HOOK IT TO MY VEINS!
This comment deserves more love
My husband is a metal detectorist and these coins look like some of the coins he digs up x
Ever thought of sticking a pair of latex disposable gloves on ?
Jesus man u could catch all sorts
Mark Livsey legend has it this guy was a high flying playboy with clean well groomed hands until his Victoria's secret model gf gave him HIV and trust issues. Now he scurries forlorn through bag after bag of dirty coins looking to get over the memories of her diseased tuppence.
silver coins........................................
silly wabbit theyre not actually made of silver unfortunately !
It's corona time
Mark Livsey you could also catch all sorts from getting change and handling money, but you wouldn’t put on latex gloves when you go to the shops
50p for everytime he said “unbelievable” or “what is going on?!?!”
*WHATS GOING ON HERE!!!!!!!*

No idea why these came up on my suggestion videos but not gonna lie it's so relaxing to watch 😂❤❤
Im soooo jealous of these people. I have a relatively below medium coin collection id say (idk how much is a lot, but i have about over 150+ coins (about a jar and a half) and over half of them are from yugoslavia) and every time i see a coin collection im just overly fascinated about where it came from, how rare it is or basically learn anything about the coin. Literally everywhere i go i always try and see if i can find any lost coins lmao.
You could start "The Grim Collection Of 50ps" 😂😂😂😂😂The Worst Ever... 😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂
I love the idea that that is a metal detectors collection and that is their haul over a number of years ❤️
Either that or a wishing well!
Dirty Dictionary, is that the one with all the naughty words in 😁😁 fantastic video again. 🤘
What a crazy hunt, amazing Olympic & Paralympic finds Christopher 😊 I have a feeling that the coins have been in water...probably a wishing well. Lafta had some grotty coins too a few days back and we said they could be a workers coins that they had found while cleaning a festive field or carnival and kept them over time....but that many...I would say a wishing well, fantastic video buddy 👍👍👍👍
I got an old 50p in my change a few months back. It was a 1970’s celebration of the uk joining the ‘common market’ with the 12 hands, one hand being female, supposedly in recognition of our Queen Elizabeth. I gave it to my (adult) daughter as she thought it was interesting to pair up with the ‘Brexit’ coin she had for her son.
Would like to see a video of you cleaning them or at least attempting to
you just leave them in vinegar, maybe salt and vinegar i forget, overnight and they come out shiny.
Noooo bad idea. Maybe it's fine other places in the world but in the U.S doing that ruins value, even doing it by soaking it is risky. They recommend that you only clean them if you cannot tell anything about it, and soak it in acetone then leave it to air dry.
The equestrian coin would have been the queen’s favorite, plus where did you pick up holy Toledo from love the excitement in your voice!
If you get a grubby coin you can clean them up using a little bit of white vinegar ,washing up liquid and hot water ,you leave the coins to soak in this mixture until it's cool enough to place your skin into and once out of the mixture clean under pouring water to remove the mixture and wipe with a soft cloth ,the white vinegar and washing up liquid gets rid of the dirt and grime .
that hurt like a rat trap on my foot seeing that olympic like that
Stay Hydrated!
awesome commentary mate, had a good chuckle!!!!
Nice 👍
Put them in a big jar of vinegar and hook a 2volt battery up to it both on a metal rod and place in the jar overnight or two nights and they will be proper clean when you wash them off with hot soapy water and a hard finger sized brush it worked a treat for me.
That was the funniest RUclips videos I've seen for a while. What would have happened if one of those green coins was a Kew Gardens I wonder ??!!
I had a Kew Gardens 50p once.
I gave it to my friend who lives in Canada as a memory of her first trip to the UK.... sorry haha.
I think you have someones magnet fishing a safe out of a river or canal !
Hi Christopher, I’m watching some of your older videos
Just looked through my random collection. I have an Olympics wrestling 50p.....and a judo. Interesting video thanks.
My daughter age 9 is a huge fan and today dedicated all of her £30 pocket money from holiday on a floppsy bunny in colour from the royal mint it was half price and her brother did the same with a Benjamin coin
The dirty coins, most likely been in a river for a while, fished some up like that myself.
Team Tower, I have found I think four of the cathedral coins so I either have good luck or they’re quite common
Looks like water damage!! Great Olympic haul. Football and wrestling in the same hunt for me this week 😃
This has to be one of the funniest videos! So many dirty coins 😂😂
Metal detecting?
I thought it was funny to see all these dirty coins and hear Christopher mone about them absolutely funny
That looks like someone at the mint took some bags destined for destruction and then when to a bank or Tescos change machine to cash them back.....no joke.
🤣🤣🤣
another nice hunting pal go on i'am watching from greece bye bye
im a cashier and I hadn't really noticed special coins till yesterday when i found equestrian lol
Coin bag #123 wow 🤩 that’s a lot! 🤭😳
#teamtower as well mate the amount of cathedrals I get in my hunts is amazing
Just like LAFTA’s recent hunt! Interesting. 👌
Definatly was
Indeed.
I thought a wishing well stash. One of the charities could have fished them out and bagged them up. I used to run one for the blind years ago and a lot of the coins came out looking like those. when they had been in a while.
I was so excited today Christopher - I got a 2011 Olympic Wrestling in my change woop woop woop
I have the capture of Gibraltar. It's one of my favourites.
Awesome coin.
Festival change looks like its been in a muddy field for a while , you could sell them as a job lot ✌😜
Omg I have never seen that Olympic Horse riding coin
When I was a kid my Dad and I used to clean coins in a raw potato by cutting them in half and pushing the coin into the flesh then leaving it for a day or so ,I don't know if this works with silver colour coins or indeed 50ps ,worth giving it a go though out of interest
April 2021, Christopher I am sorry that it's taken me this long to act upon this vlog, I know that it is likely that you have had comments about the state of a vast amount of coins in one sitting, but this is as I dare say the grossest quantity of coins I have seen, my heart goes out to you.
😆😆😆
Now I know who’s separating Britanias from shields 🤦🏻♂️.. had all 250£ nicely sorted with 0 collectible coins!! Was you!! Defo.. I got it in London :)
I'm Always Team Territories! 😉
As for the dirty coins, I suspect someone had metal detecting hard this week. 😂
Nandi Collector lol 😂 I was going to make the same comment
@@stuartsmith6658 my first impression was metal detecting 😂 I feel sorry for Christopher.
Lol I don’t feel sorry for him I would happily take those coins. I mean 5 Olympic so jammy if he is so unhappy with his bag of coins I will swap him .
@@stuartsmith6658 😂😂😂
There are 5 Paralympic coins in the set, the are Archery, Boccia, Goalball, Table Tennis, Wheelchair Rugby.
Soak the dirty coins in white vinegar ; they will soon be shiny and bright x
Awww. I hope it was Tom some sweet grandparents somewhere that let the grand kids throw the special coins into a pond !

I'm team Cardiff castle it's so rare the royal mint doesn't have one
Title this as ‘A Corrosion!’
Those look like they have been put in the ashes of the fire Christopher 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I have a coin set from the year I was born and 2 of them are quite rare
Lol. When I lived in France I came across some euro coins and french franc coins in a bowl with what looked like old dish wash powder & cigarette ash. I cleaned them the best I could. I did keep the franc coins and spent the euro coins. Some were in deplorable shape to where the metal bubbles and was chipping off. Even the grocery store self checkout wouldn’t take some. Took me over a month to spend about 3€ worth of 0,01€, 0,02€, & 0,05€ coins (the majority of them)
Absolutely hilarious 😂
my mum got me the sherlock coin at 7:51 for my birthday as i have read the whole collection at age 14!!!!
I second some sort of pond or well. Definitely water damage :D
Hi Christopher collects I live in Australia and I collect Australian coins
It may also be the markings of being in a house fire. The intense heat coupled with the water used to fight the fire can cause the loss of detail as well as an accelerated corrosion of both the top metal as well as the base metal.
1:55 i think it was loads of ships
Looks familiar 🤔 haha!
I have the beatrix potter coin and two of the paddington bear coins and the public remains
Looks like those manky ones came from a wishing well. The water may have been slightly acidic too.
Some metal detectorist has cashed in all the coins they've found on beaches and fields. The bad ones look like beach finds affected by seawater. The reason there are commemoratives among them is because they were probably lost not long after they were issued.
The mucky ones were probably metal detected out of the ground.
Hi there my friend! I have nearly 100 Olympic 50p coins and some rarer ones. Is there a way to check the price as eBay seems so iffy. I also have 7 Kew gardens coins
Just to let you know, the next time I see you I will not be shaking your hand. lol. That was a mad hunt.
I'm doing metal detecting and these gross coins usually are from the beach. See, a roman coin can stand 2000 years in the soil, but a 2 year old coin turns into crap in 6 months... 😁
I found someone’s Shakespeare’s coin collection at the train station lol
Stupid question, but, should you clean coins and how best to do it?
Great video :) thanks
I think the grimey coins are finds from a beach metal detectorist. I’ve found them in this condition myself.
The shield design was introduced in 2008, not 2009.
These coins look like they have come from a laundrette. After working on a campsite I've seen these worn coins come out of the filters and drains, explainingthe corrosion and gouges. The rest probably from the coin operation of the machines.
The manky coins look like theyve been in a wishing well or dug up on the beach by a detectorist....either way, im sure youve had more pleasant afternoons lol
#TeamTower , some of the coins being found are very strange . Much like Laftas haul !
7 minutes in and you already found 2 of the only 3 olympics I’m yet to find haha
Where would you sell the more than face value coins?
Hi Chris where do you get the coin books from
Possibly water damage. Worth a try to clean with solvent
With the grimy ones put them in vinegar or still alcohol then put in HP sauce. Makes it look spick and span clean
It looks like fire damage on those dirty ones
Looks like someones beach combing/metal detecting finds. Actually it might be someone who put his stash in a particular place on the beach. Or in a fish tank! Or a fountain?
Some nice coins Christopher but think you need a tetnus now!
Wishing well coins is my guess!
Where do you get all these coins from?
U can use any fizzy soda to /in order to clean them leave it in for 1 whole day and should look brand new
i think they have been taken from a wish pond.....green and coroded
How do you get these 50ps? Do you go to the bank and ask for £250 worth of 50ps?
I expect you have already ordered your BREXIT 50p ?
where do you get your bags of coins from
I live in jersey, and to find a few jersey 50p is pretty cool!
the first dirty one you found is two ships wrecking each other
Looks like to me flood damage or a wishing well collection, some good finds still!
You said that the olympic ones are hard to find but i find them constantly! like 1/10 50ps im getting in my change from the shop are olympic. Maybe it's to do with location because im in central scotland.
Can the coins be buffed up an polished or will that not work?
Seriously funny Christopher...your jokes more than made up for the grubby coins ❤️
I've recently started to collect and was wondering how much the 10p a-z range goes for because I have F J and W
I've literally only ever seen one alphabet 10p, and that was in the hand of the bloke in front of me in the queue when he received it in change and showed someone else. On the other hand I do have a pretty good condition Kew 50p, and the Wrestling 50p mentioned in this video (although I'm slightly alarmed that there may be Olympic and Paralympic versions of otherwise identical coin designs, if I understood what he was saying correctly).
Maybe from a beachcomber with a metal detector or a wishing well? Some look pretty worn, which would suggest being found on a beach.....
You found some ones collection but did you find the all illusive 2 coins hope so
I found two olympics on the same day in the same bag XD so I thought they were common XD
