I learned this serve 10 years ago. Schlager used it a lot in his match. In the older videos, it was called "corkscrew" serve, and it was mainly a combination of backspin & sidespin serve.
Yeah it is deceptive, but as I have observed so far - the biggest advantage comes from hiding the contact with the ball with your body. Players rotate their body for a reason, arent' they? Not to mention keeping the free hand lifted as long as possible and retracting it only at the last moment. Umpires ignore it and many serves seem to me illegal. I think the serve can be played legally and it is really hard to read, but it is rarely played that way I think.
yes they hiding the contact with the head too if you ask me its better to just bann serving the ball on the side and behind you that wil fix alot of problems, if you only alowed to serve the ball infront of your body
@@alvino2.0gaming99 you have your opinion, I have my. The tutorial is fine. In the match the whole body hide the ball and the opponent has no chance to see the ball. Illegal. And yes,- many professional player make illegal moves. Not even though they are professional, but because. It is one of the most discussed problem in table tennis. I think rules should be changed or enforced.
Good video. This serve can be very deceptive. This guy is throwing the ball back and probably hiding the ball behind his head at the point of contact. Very borderline. Par Gerrel has a very deceptive one too.
Why there is no translation for Arabic There are more than One billion people speaking Arabic more than most of the languages you prefer So Please pay attention to this point because I benefited greatly from your posts. Thank you so much 🇮🇶🏓😍😍
Great demonstration by the Coach on the hook serves. Still, I can't see why any of these amateur tournaments would use substandard referees and not calling foul serves. Both players are guilty in every single one with at curved fingers and curved palms to generate extra spins on the toss. This is unnecessary and unreal!
@@krairerksintavanuruk9360 doesn’t really matter because the serve is so commonly used that it is proven not to be illegal, or at least not to be called by the ref usually
No effective hook/punch serve is in compliance with the current rule. (When done legally is a ordinary serve). In my opinion, or we come back to prior rules or we prohibit thia kind If serve. Because the athletes hide the ball and the refferee do not give the point to the opponent.

You can do the serve legal, and they rotate the body to use more acceleration to increase the spin, you can hide the ball without doing that

Great.Thank you nice video.
The guy who plays the hook serve plays really well! Awesome spin and great technique
yo lebrun loving your game!
Look at the point of ball contact. The opponent has no Chance to see it. Illegal Serve.
Not the hook serve general, but the way the player do it.
No it’s not you can barely see the contact of the ball therefore it is count as legal wang chuqin used that trick a lot

Coach is the full match available somewhere?
Hi.
I have 500 raiting and should me bay Butterfly Viscaria K Serie?
The two players seemed to be masking the point of contact with their arm. Gucchy however didn’t seem to be doing that as much.

What's the difference between the underspin and backspin ?
it's the same
Thx
In europe and america it is called backspin and asia underspin
Such way, that player serve is illegal
He hides the ball completely covering the ball toss with his shoulders
Further, the player was tossing the ball back and not vertically.
I do agree that is illegal serve.

wrm does not allow unauthorized reproduction.
Every serve is tricky if you hide it behind the body and arm!
Minuto 2:03 saque ilegal, no retira su brazo izquierdo!!!
Old uncles tend to have the bad habit of jumping or lifting their bodies when they block... not sure why
Isn’t this serve illegal?

Hay lưu mình nhé
actually his serve mostly was to high, not hard to topspin it all...
The hard part it is to read if it is top spin or underspin
I think it's about the general idea, not the execution of it. You should perfect it for yourself
he is hiding the contact point. violation!!
