Adam man! Awesome to have you back again and always dude! I honestly wasn't too sure what to do for a video part and went through several ideas and still not sure if this one is too harsh for people or not (and it got claimed by the video people) but I think it hits the point I was going for as a kid contemplating Metallica Ride the Lightning and what that would be like and not having much life experience and only a little trauma to write about yet, lol... I did experience a lot of false judgment too though which is what it's really about.
So cool, do catch up with some old stuff, one has almost forgotten about. I like to do that, too. Awesome shred, Thrash, very cool for a High school band !!🤘🤘
YEAGH... awesome to hear SHRUB bro! I remembered you like this one a couple years ago! In 99' we jammed for 2 nights one time and I added a few more 0's to the verse riff also, like a little extra skip in it we jazzed up a bit. We tried to put small interesting parts during or in between riffs to break up repetition where possible. Like, I'm a little surprised myself hearing this back cuz this is before every song had to have a "breakdown" like today, the breakdown hadn't been "invented" yet, but I knew songs typically had a "bridge" part somewhere usually after a solo that would change tempo, key and riff for a minute before jumping back into it.
Luke, thank you bro... first I want to say ur NEW HOLY WARS cover is Amazing... you nailed the intricacies like shifting between the dirty 2 note natural chord vs. power chords every other measure, etc, etc... just great job! I remember we did jam on Black Magic riffs from that LP back then! Onetime my friends brother's band was in town from California and checked out the attic and the dude showed me the one note I was missing with the pinky real quick! They were called Paradise Lost and had this awesome demo but I don't know if it's any of the same members or band at all that still exists today. Not sure if you saw the Black Magic cover collab with the Diabetic Drummer, I finally learned the song a couple years ago, haha!
Definitely 54 Bro... this was fully inspired and ripped off concept sitting in class contemplating Metallica Ride the Lightning and wanting to write something edgy without much life experience at the time... /w\/w\
@@lopolik Ok guys, if there's a god of milk and cereal, can I be that one? I'll spread my tasty blends across the land and bring forth the message of Chocolate Dyno-Bites!
I agree... I wanted the imagery to match the depth of the message in the song on this one. I remember contemplating Metallica Ride the Lightning in class one day around 1991, and that line "Who made you God to Say, I'll take ur life from You" and just ripped off the theme looking at it from 2 angles. IS he for sure mad at the justice system "playing god" with capitol punishment yes; but placing a comma differently he could be saying who made god himself to say when someone lives or dies or how does he allow injustices like these?!?! Whoa... there was actually a lot of this ambiguity in a few of our songs. Like the title was debated between Who is God, Who's God or Whose god? Our 1st song Prayer for the Sinner started as No Prayer for the Sinner then A Prayer for the Sinner before finally Prayer for the Sinner, lol...a line in the song was "F8, won't save his soul" became "F8, Save his soul"... like I had to tone it down a bit to prevent judgment or misinterpretation or something.
@@THRASHMETALFUNRIFFS wow, that's some deep stuff there. My old band never thought that much about lyrics lOL good for you guys! I hope this goes viral for you, couldn't take my eyes off even though i wanted to hide them some of the time

Love the catchiness of the verse riff with the tritone. Then that section right before the solo really threw me for a loop. Sick \M/

This is really cool! Classic thrash!! Right at 4:00 mins, this sounds like it could be a riff off of Show No Mercy by Slayer
