My wife just suprised me with North Dakota BLS/Anthrax/Exodus tickets... I live in Illinois (Lol) About an 18 hr trip.. but SOOO worth it. Been a Zakk fan forever. Then she informs me its a meet and greet!! I almost shit. This man is one of my heroes. Music has carried me. And his music is what motivated me to push while trying to learn to walk again during the painful PT after a drunk driver got me in 09. So this is huge for me. And she got me ND tickets so I could go with my best friend. I didn't know what meet and greet included, or if it was just going to be a quick shuffle through and not personal. Now I am super excited, and SO stoked! Thank you for the awesome memory you shared in this video. I am so excited and nervous at the same time to have this experience, and to just tell the band thank you for the push they gave me without even knowing it.
My friend was a gopher at his show early when he was still drinking. He drove him and his band back to hotel. He was given strict instructions not to drive him to a bar no matter how persistent he would be. My friend said Zakk was very intense but not threatening. He asked where the bars were and my friend said they were all closed. When they got to hotel , Zakk thanked him for the 6:41 ride and gave him a bear hug. He said it was a good experience.
@@guitarworm1714 another fun tidbit. When I got to the show and saw my friend ( who is bouncer sized) and asked how big Zakk was in person, he looked at me weird and said “ Dude, he’s short and not big at all, I was surprised “ . The next day, he called me and said “ I was wrong, that was the bass player ( James Lomenzo) Zakk is big, tall and barrel chested”
Very cool! I've seen BLS 5x and I've done three Zakk M&Gs (Dec 2015, Sep 2017 w/Zakk Sabbath and Feb 2018). I first met Zakk on the steps of his tour bus on the first BLS tour (Oct 1999) and also at a Guitar Center thing in Sep 2016. Absolutely-- Zakk is the nicest, most fan-friendly, down-to-earth big-name guy on the planet. He will sign anything and always takes his time with everyone. I will always do the M&G every time Zakk comes to my town. I can't get enough of him.
@@guitarworm1714 It really is. He only charges $100 which is the cheapest by far for someone on his level. And $100 is nothing by today's standards. What's that, a couple trips to the gas station and an evening at Chili's? $100 lasts less than 10 minutes anymore. Not so much being lucky as just taking advantage of Zakk's appearances when he's on tour-- which is basically ALL the time! :D
Took my teen son to meet Father Zakk with the VIP meet/greet at Ozzys show at Blossom last summer. 100% agree with all you said. There were only 8 of us there so we were fortunate to hang out backstage with him for quite a while. My son is 15 and has been playing guitar for one year now. Father Zakk was so genuinely encouraging and my son playing No More Tears was reposted on Wylde Audio IG on Ozzys birthday--which we were pretty excited about. Just truly THE nicest musician I have ever met (and I've met quite a few). That meet and greet was 2K and I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat (stage played guitar was included).
Kirsten O thanks for sharing. I am glad you also had a positive experience with Zakk. In the future, if I had a little more cash, I would be all for paying a few thousand bucks for some of the VIP deals Zakk offers. Especially where you get one of his guitars that he plays on stage. Thanks for watching.
GuitarWorm you're welcome and thank you for sharing your experience via YT vid. I've got a few photos of my son and Father Z on my IG: @kol614 if you want to check them out. Much LH&R to you!!
Kirsten O do you get the stage played guitar or do they ship you one? Was thinking about getting a VIP & a SP Guitar as a gift but don’t want to lug it around
2016 San Francisco guitar center herememerd me by his bus got apic Witt him and got a fan to sign his dime guitar it was asome still got the pic on my wall bls forever great guy keep rocking zakk
Met Zakk & the fellas with My Dad July 16th,2018 for the first time on this tour best NIGHT of My life,Zakk & the fellas signed My BL banner I bought when I was 9.My Dad & I were 3rd row but I got to be 2nd row because a fan stepped over a couple inches before the end of the concert & same guy handed Me Zakk's guitar pick when JD & Dario threw them to the crowd.
I actually got to meet Zakk at a signing in Bakersfield Ca at a guitar center, I believe it was also to promote the wylde audio guitars. One of the nicest guys I’ve ever met. Going to Ventura in October to catch a show, my 2nd. With a VIP pass this time. Can’t wait to meet the fellas.
Not going to lie I want to meet him as soon as possible because his music has always kept me going in my hardest times and I started to cut back on my alcohol consumption when he decided to stop drinking and now I've been completely sober for 2 years. I'd probably be bawling my eyes out getting to meet him.
Zakk is always great. Glad he could inspire you to be sober. I ve seen him with ozzy a few times and I've seen BLS a few times, plus I saw him do an 'acoustic' tour, where he shredded solos all night in an acoustic. Lol
Hey man thanks a lot for making this video. I have a ticket to this thing for next month and was/am kind of nervous as to how that's going to go, especially since I'm going solo. I did that with Exodus last year and those guys were extra surprisingly cool to people.
Did you have just the regular VIP upgrade or the Mega? In regards to the photo op, do you get a personal photo with Zakk & BLS or was it one of those big group photos that I see on his social media? I can’t do the Mega option (with the guitar), but I’m willing to do the regular option, insomuch I get a personal photo with Zakk & the guys.
Zakk does VIP photos individually with the band. Then there is a group photo. Finally they take you to a signing table where you can get 2 items signed.
Thanks for the insight. I am going to my first meet and Greet in December and was wondering what to expect. Thanks again!!!!

Kris, I appreciate your comments. I am sure you're allowed to bring an item to get signed, so go get yourself a guitar that can be hung on the wall!
@@guitarworm1714 thank you for the response . I am definitely going to grab one to take. That will be absolutely epic!!

I just did a BLS Meet and Greet in Houston last Saturday. Really cool experience.
Glad you enjoyed it.

Not a problem. I was solo too ( can't remember if I mentioned that). Let me know if your experience is similar to mine! I am sure it will be worth it!
Did he sign any guitars that weren’t Gibson/Epiphone Zakk signatures, Wylde audio or Dean?
Eric Ruhl yes, he was signing any kind of guitar. Thanks for watching.

So your allowed to bring a guitar to get signed?
Mister Black yes, in the U.S anyways. Instructions said I could bring one item. Multiple people brought guitars to get signed.
@@guitarworm1714 did it have to be a Zakk Wylde model guitar?
Hey dude, did you have to take your guitar back out to the car before the show or did they hold it for you until after?
Cecil Hunter I ran out back to the car.
GuitarWorm thanks again for the quick reply . Going tomorrow to the meet and greet.
Cecil Hunter awesome, have fun.
I was there with ya
Alex Buker right on, that was a great night, I am glad u found the video.
