Yo7 r right it looks fantastic, although sadly I believe 098s future is uncertain last year in January it did a farewell tour because GBRF said they were converting it and also 56081 into a class 69, although nothing has happened to 098 yet it has been announced that 56081 is being stripped for spare parts!
I assume this is too kronospan Chirk which would of explained the noise coming from the train climbing out of Wrexham past rhostyllen it could be heard in our living room
@@TRAlNVlDEOS we get a couple of heavies going through ( not everyday) 66's from castle cement and margom steel and kronospan from Baglan Bay usually a pair of 37's running through to Chester just to run around and back to Chirk
@@grumpygrandad55 That’s Great! I really want to catch the 37s on the Welsh log train (and my brother is living right where it starts) but he has yet to film it for me 😂
@@stephenbrass1808 Atleast you catch it, 56098 is only hired until Friday so will is a very rare sight! Class 56's suffer from being geared for 80mph which is not really suitable for heavy freight, better suited to Freightliner traffic. When Foster Yeoman entered into a new contract with Railfreight in 1985 they sought to have 6 dedicated class 56's for the traffic out of Merehead supplied by Cardiff Canton, within the first week of the contract 34 different 56's where noted at Merehead & therein starts the class 59 story & GM EMD takeover. GM initially slated to supply 6 class 59's , Foster Yeomans told by GM they'll only need 4. 1 59 doing the work of a pair of 56's hauling 46 102 tonne PTA wagons Hence BR's order for class 60's & then the subsequent 66's , the 60's more than matching the 59's on the haulage front & the 59's tractive effort record being only beaten by the GE class 70's. The 56's are good locos but not good enough. I guess they use 2 as cover & to cope with the rigour of the S & C.
Nice work on those grid's, nice smokey departure from Carlisle 👍
Thanks!
I'm enjoying GBRf's heritage liveries!
Same!
098 looks fantastic. If it goes as good as it looks we will have 56s for years to come.

Bestial. Thanks for sharing!
Love it that it’s 49 and 98! 2x49=98 - brilliant
I hadn’t noticed that, that’s actually quite cool! 👍
The 56 is a beauty
Yes 56098 is.
Work of Art !
mad when colas have to hire grids lol 😆 they need to buy more loco's i think! Nice grid though nice livery and sounds & clagg!!! 🥰
Yes I think they do, I’m sure I saw a post somewhere saying they were also hiring a Freightliner class 70
Cut it too soon! I like to count the wagons! 😂
Sorry! Don’t worry when it cut that was the final wagon! 😂
1:33 🤣🤣🤣
I could already guess what this time stamp was going to be 😂😂 I jump almost every time but this time it was especially loud 😂😂
The horn on the 56’s seems very (if not unusually) loud!!!
Nice footage of 56098 👍
Thank you!

I don’t think it is, it is about 30 wagons long!

the rail inspection train is rated at 125 per hour, not 125 feet per minute.
😂😂it was stopping and leaving the station the same direction it came in!

Do you have any idea how long 098 will be on hire?
Yes, only until this Friday (12th of January) unless something changes.
