Melanie was around way before Billie was, and she has kind of ran with the same concept since her debut. If there's any comparison to be made, Billie is like her. Still love billie, though.
Hmm I can see what you mean cause Mel has been doing this for a while more people seem interested in this now because of Billie showing the mainstream something different. It’s nice to see them all getting the love they deserve. Monroe summed it up well.

I'm so disappointed that melanie wasn't nominated on the GRAMMY'S despite her effort of being an artist, musician, director, writer and producer of her own film. Her artistry will remain underrated but soon the world needs to hear her messages behind her music.
IKR?! biggest snub of the century! our bb literally worked her ass off she wrote, directed, convenience, styled and started in a WHOLE ASS MOVIE of her own for her 2nd album K-12 and was the highest grossing flim of 2019 despite being available in the theaters for one night only yet SOMEHOW she didn't get a SINGLE NOMINATION for doing something so revolutionary! she was the most deserving contender for "Best Music Film" yet they nominated films that no1 has ever heard of that's just pure bs smh

Melanie's aesthetics aren't the only thing that separates her from others it's also her deep, dark, meaningful and metaphorical lyrics/ music videos and her amazing story telling her music literally sucks you into a whole journey/world like her first album crybaby when I first heard that album it was like trying to piece together a difficult puzzle learning about this character that she created from her imagination
Melanie Martinez is QUEEN of the weird pink aesthetic and sound in music/music videos. She's one of those OGs that catapulted this type of music. Billie and Ashnikko kept the vibe, and they're doing great.

I’ve been listening to Melanie since middle school and now I’m out of high school so I’ve been a fan for a really long time like Monroe, I’m so glad you guys liked her!! I can’t wait to see in the future if you react to her more lol.
