Chris I wanted to tell you that your Q&A’s you’ve done with Laurie really helped me get over my fear of flying.
Dec I was on a flight where we had fog and rain and hit some turbulence but I just kept telling myself, the turbulence is just like a pothole and I was fine.

Dry cleaner bags keep blazers looking great. Stuff the sleeves, pack one inside in each padded shoulder area, then line the body of the blazer. Fold arms in neatly, cover whole blazer with another dry cleaner bag. Then fold as needed. Been doing this for years; Martha Stewart tip. ❤

One tip for blazers is to turn them inside out but leave the sleeve right side out. Fold in half with lapels together then fold in 3 lengthways. GQ has a video that show it’s better than my explanation. ‘Pack a blaze for travel with GQ. The second method.

Thanks much for providing these tips. When it comes to the backpack, I use quart-sized pouches, not only for the liquids (up to 3.4 oz.) but also for the chargers to my laptop, tablet and smartphone as well as any computer accessories like removable flash drives and any adapters and a wireless mouse and a wired mouse. I place these in separate compartment in my backpack to keep it organized. I place my tablet and laptop each in a sleeve to keep them protected while they are placed the laptop/tablet compartment in the rear of the backpack. I also use a protective to protect my smartphone to protect it from scratches and cracks. Hope these things I use help you.

Thank you. Before I travel, I always try to establish if the hotels I am staying in have a guest laundry room to help cut down the number of shirts, etc, I need for a trip, but this only works if you know you can find the time to do the laundry. Sadly, hotel booking sites don't always specify this in their list of facilities.

Hi Laurie, I love all your common-sense travel videos. I travel quite a lot with a group of friends and I would love for you to do tips for traveling with groups. For instance, we discovered after staying as a group in VRBOs we all needed to label our phone chargers with our names/initials because most of them look the same. When we're packing up to go home, we used to have the charger shuffle before we all labeled ours.
Another tip for airplanes I've never heard mentioned. On most airplaines, the armrest on most aisle seats will flip up for easy entry to the row of seats. The release lever is underneath, toward the back of the aisle seat armrest. It's especially convenient when someone in the middle or window seat has to get up use the bathroom.

REcthe armrest access to row… if I’m in the window or middle (or whatever seat) sorry, but you guys are getting up ever time I need to use the bathroom… I decided a long time ago.. I’m NOT climbing over ANYONE to get in or out of my seat!!! Do all you guys and gals out there do that??? I’m just NOT gonna climb over everybody in the row sorry! Not enuf room as it is… goodness!! Yall are getting up to let me in/out! It’s either your front or rear in their faces… Nor would I allow anyone to climb over me ! Am I the crazy one????

I typically identify clothes that need to be laundered by either turning them inside out or packing them rolled instead of folded. I also like to have a thin plastic grocery bag in case I need to isolate something. I've never bothered to use a folding toothbrush or other "travel" brush - I just pack a regular toothbrush in a sandwich bag.
my other two big travel tips: I have a pair of black golf pants, I use for my airplane pants. they have no rivets, and they are very comfortable for flying, while still looking nice. they also have the advantage that I can wear them with or without a belt, so no belt for security. then I wear a jacket with zippered pockets. everything I'd normally carry in my pants and shirt pockets, I can zip into the jacket, and then just put the jacket into the bin at security. (except my pocketknife, of course, that either stays home or goes into checked luggage.)
another tip: always start your airport outfit by clearing out your pockets, to avoid accidentally having something you'll have to leave behind. I've never done it, but the internet is full of memes about it.

In the UK in the 60’s and 70’s there was a famous travel journalist called Alan Whicker. He would swear by wearing a blazer (those jackets at around 04:00 aren’t blazers btw). As he said, you can wear a blazer on a yacht and still look smart at a black tie dinner…

Well, blazers and navy sports jackets are the "Little Black Dress" for men. Dress it up. Dress it down. The same can be said about derbies and to a lesser degree, loafers. Advice from 60 years ago still relevant today. Gotta love it.

I think I did ask about specifics, so thanks for compiling a list.
As it happens, I am doing certain things like your husband does. Where I fell down on my last trip was not checking the destination weather forecast and forgetting that if I needed something badly enough that I could have bought it locally.
