The lighthouse rails critiques are true, and its actually surprising that Kevin let that pass being such a good artist. The painting is beautiful none the less.
I get so excited when I find that perfect reference! I get the joy of the little things like a shop towel making effects a simple joy. Loving the Channel!
All comments on the perspective are correct. Above the horizon line or level of eyesight, the curve will be going the other way. Its weird as some viewers have commented because in the painting with the current perspective, if the roof was flat we would see the top. This could never be the case with the correct perspective. We are not looking down on the lighthouse, we are looking up. Might be a good idea to rework the painting before its given to the client. Everything else is wonderfully painted. Even the best of us can botch the perspective up, its all learning no matter what our current expertise is. I would say that you probably were aware Kevin that something was up while you were painting but that it didn't register at the time-not necessarily an indication that you didn't know how to reconcile the perspective issues.
one can learn sooo much from your painting as you help us along the way-when we watch you-we WANT to paint--gotta get my brushes out!!!!Thanks for sharing your art with us Kevin😀
Great tutorial Kevin. I can always look forward to seeing one of your awesome tutorials. I wish I'd seen this before I painted mine. You explain the techniques you use quite clearly. Nice work with the light rays as well. Great idea.
This is just so lovely!! It rivals a Thomas Kinkade lighthouse reproduction on canvas that I own! I would love a DVD advanced instruction lesson on this Kevin:) Thank you so much for so generously sharing your process and talent with us!
Hi Kevin ... I wish you a Happy Holidays with your family and thank you for all the videos that you have shared with heart and also your instructions which make me move forward in my painting ...
That's a nice painting, Kevin. My only critique is the perspective of the circular shapes of the lighthouse is incorrect. Because they are above the horizon line, the circular shapes should be curving down, not up. Otherwise, nice work!
I love your soft touches...but the perspective of the top of the lighthouse is what you would expect if you were observing from ABOVE the lighthouse. The level seems to be at the top of the bluffs, so the railings should be curved at an ever-increasing degree the higher up you go on the cylinder of the lighthouse. Otherwise, pure gorgeousness.
Hi Mark. Not to be a jerk, but: I couldn’t help but wonder if you yourself had created a multi-camera video demonstrating your oil painting technique of a sunset, beach, and lighthouse using perfect perspective? With your knowledge, I was almost expecting to find one on your channel. Didn’t find it there.
@@stormcorrosion176 The fact that I don’t have this exact kind of painting on RUclips does not change the fact that perspective is what perspective is. Go take a look at a lighthouse sometime and you’ll see what I’m talking about. I’ve photographed a whole bunch of them. And painted them. Just because I don’t have a RUclips channel for it means nothing. If your ultimate goal was to not be a jerk, I’m afraid it was unsuccessful.
Hello Kevin ,Love your painting classes, so beautiful and mesmerising as Always , How are you ? Wish you and your Family A very Happy Christmas and A New year ,God Bless you ,🙏🌹🌺🎄🌲🦚👧🧑🦰🍇🌸💐💕

Hey Kevin, do you have any tips on which safety precautions to take when painting? I think I might have temporarily lost my sense of smell after working with acrylic paints recently because I thought they were harmless🥵🥴👀 It’s starting to come back now though, but I’m slightly worried because inhaling anything like that is probably really bad in the long run... Is adequate ventilation in the workspace enough, or do we need to use a gas mask or something when working with solvent-based paints?
KEVIN!!!! HELP!!! So i need help caring for my brushes! I just bought the liner brush and i want to buy all the brushes but how do i care for them? And clean them and store them? A more accurate question is how do YOU do these things? Whats your method?
Thank you for you painting techniques. But something bothers me here and it is the perspective of the top of the lighthouse. To me it seems as if the view of the gallery deck or the part with the rails seems to be from above and not leveled or slightly below which is from the viewers point of view.
Gros problèmes de perspectives sur le haut du phare qui semble pencher vers nous ( Big problems of perspectives on the top of the lighthouse which seems to be leaning towards us )
Kevin if people wipe off with a rag while OIL painting, and don’t dispose of the rag properly they could combust and start a fire. DO NOT USE RAGS WHEN OIL PAINTING.
These new camera angles are great !

I love your work.... however the railings on the top of the lighthouse look off considering the horizon and the perspective....so you agree?
Really 🙄 it's his painting it doesn't have to be perfect and if you think it needs fixing make your own
Agreed. As soon as I saw it the lighthouse looked very off. Almost like it is bending or curving toward the viewer.
@@shelbyjane315 indeed. I do my own. However...don't you agree it's good to learn from mistakes?
@@rayhansen8957 I agree that you should, but why jump to the conclusion it was a mistake

Just get lost in your paintings. I want to show you mine but where to share I didn’t see it.
Does the light on the lighthouse shine in the day? I see the sunshine and the light on the lighthouse?
Maybe it's sunset. 😉

Gros problèmes de perspectives sur le haut du phare qui semble pencher vers nous ( Big problems of perspectives on the top of the lighthouse which seems to be leaning towards us )
Something is off on the lighthouse rails. I think they shouldn't be curved so much. But really nice composition otherwise
what lighthouse is this? my mother thinks it looks like the one in Vermont..
I wish it was a full video😂
Yes no one is perfect. The perspective is playing with my head . That being said ,i cant paint that good .
You need more practice on lighthouses that is for sure..
its very nice, but am I the only one who thinks it seems unfinished towards the right side of the painting? Maybe it's just me.
