With regards to the Racoon, I sympathize, I've been battling a woodchuck and chipmunks trying to keep them at bay. Everyone and Everything love figs!!! LOL Thank you for posting this great video! For your raccoon trap try marshmallows or dry cat food that may entice that rascal to. Good luck

That would be disappointing, but you have a good remedy unless it can find its way back.
Try moving the trap to the side of the firewood. If it’s out in the open he’s less likely to go in it
Are you in Ontario, Canada? What varieties do you plant in the ground? I live in Ontario and want to plant some varieties in the ground.
Maybe it's a Bear and not a raccoon ?
We've had several bears around here all year attacking bee hives and fruit trees
Put a trail of figs into the trap and inside the trap over the treadle.
can you recommend a bird netting for fig trees?
