- Turns out lobsters (Homarus americanus) are really weird. Here are 5 reasons why:
1) Lobsters can re-grow their limbs
2) Female lobsters are soft-bodied when they mate
3) They pee out of their head
4) They communicate with their pee
5) They smell with their feet

Do one on scallops! They swim and have eyes!
Thanks, that's a great suggestion! I love scallops; they are also super weird. We will add it to our list!
Stuart Chan I think barnacle penises would be more interesting
Your set is amazing!
Thanks City Beautiful!
You did a fantastic job in this video. It's appreciating. Just ignore and don't reply to those people who always humiliate and demotivate to others. All the very Very best for your future. 😊 keep it up...
I don’t see any negative Comments .. only you lol
Thus is quality content, you should have way more subs.
Thanks! Glad you are enjoying our content
great video
Glad you liked it :)
Rewind Remix almost as great as barnacle penises
Please make a video on barnacle penises
I... love your set... like... it's so well thought out...
Thanks David, still needs a few tweaks but we will get there
Hey I love the channel there well made and shot 7/5 will stay also the set in beautiful and I have a similar boat model :-)
Thanks its probably the exact same boat, do you know what the model name is? Ours is called the Hurricane
very interesting.....and fascinating!
5 reasons I think humans are super weird. 1: Humans are hairless, unlike most mammals that have hair for protection humans have forgone that for clothing, it's more efficient and takes less energy. 2: Humans walk upright. 3: Humans have sweat glands all over their body and not localized as in dogs. 4: Humans have weak muscles, countered by high intelligence and endurance. 5: Humans' gate and breathing aren't tied together, humans can breathe at different rates from their walking cycle. Other animals can't do this and will collapse if they don't rest. Humans can control their breathing during a run. BTW excellent first videos, keep it up.
Thanks RebelBeamMaster I'm glad you are liking it so far. These are some great weird human facts. I never knew that is was unusual to be able to control our breathing while running!
Wow! Such an improvement from your "why is the ocean blue video"!
Thanks Gary!
I found your channel through Name Explain, and I honestly like it. However, the style of your videos is a bit... Boring. I feel like I'm watching a middle school biology presentation. I think your channel could do a lot better if you'd be able to grab more of the attention of the listener.
Thanks for the feedback! We have been busy working and testing ways to get better underwater video so that we can have more exciting visuals. Hopefully that will help make them more engaging. Do you find the content too scientific or is it the delivery of the content? Would love to hear any suggestions you have as it will help us make better videos in the future. We have another on the way that is a little different then the others videos.
Great video, fantastic quality. Doing great!
Thanks!
RoboSquidTV I believe she should make a video on barnacle penises
Facts! Thank you for this crustacean info. And it gets weirder, new research revealed the they also get depressed in much the same way as us humans do.
I really like the ocean, especially the life in the ocean. Subscribe.
Glad you found us we have more videos on and in the ocean coming!
You guys should do a video on crabs.
We will definitely do a video on crabs in the future, thanks for the suggestion :)
What happened to the lobster in the video?
We purchased this lobster from the grocery store so unfortunately we ate him... He was delicious! The local lobster industry here is sustainable and actually a healthy seafood industry. It extremely illegal to take live lobsters out of the ocean here with out a license or out of season, or the wrong size. So we decided to get one from the grocery store and made sure it was kept moist between takes and shot as fast as possible. Which is why there is not as much B-roll footage as we would have liked.
The Abyss He will be missed.
This channel has my seal of approval. It's bloody nuts. Keep it going.
Thanks Sammy!
is it true that lobster is immortal ?
Unfortunately this is a common misconception. It stems from the fact that lobsters don't show typical signs of aging. For example lobsters grow and reproduce throughout their entire life.
This was one fact I considered adding to this video, maybe I will do a part two at some point or a common misconceptions video.
Great question!
Woow... I know they were weird but I didn't know any of this
You sound like you’re trying really hard not to crack up
I think you need to make another video on lobster dominance hierarchy
That would be a great video to do, we have lots of lobsters locally so I'll add it to our list of videos to make. Thanks Vikas Kulkarni!
Lobsters weigh more during a ful moon
Do a video on weird deep sea creatures
This would be an awesome video to do, maybe we can turn it into a series in the future!
you deserve a ton more subs your amazing
Thanks Robert!
Lobsters are psychic
Think about if you could smell through your feet and you stepped on poop.
Might not be that bad if you were wearing shoes
How did I get here
thanks
Pls change ur tone of communication. Don't take it serious and add some background music and animation when explaining something and also subtitle bcc ur informative videos will viewed by anyone in the corner of the world.
How long can they be out of water for and survive?
Lobsters are actually able to breathe to a certain extent out of water as long as they're in a moist environment where their gills can stay wet. If this is the case they can easily survive over 24 hours out of water.
The Abyss oh wow, I did not realize that. Thanks! :-)
No problem, thanks for the great question
Who came here because of Sassy james??!!!?. Lol
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Cuttlefish vidio
Cuttlefish is another good topic to cover, will have to do one once we get better underwater gear.
MOM sais it's *SPECIAL*
If a pheromone is just a chemical used to communicate, is ink a pheromone?🤔
Also, thanks to Name Explain for sending me to this channel.
Sorry I think my definition was a bit of an oversimplification. A pheromone usually refers to a chemical secreted by an animal as a means of social communication between another member of the same species. So while, squids secrete ink it is used as more of a defense mechanism that for communication.
Hope that clarifies!
The Abyss Actually, I meant ink that humans use to write letters and thereby communicate, but apparently that joke was so stupid it didn't come across. That happens.
Oops. Haha can you tell I have the ocean on the brain.
Jacqueline , you’re amazing. Marry me please! Your lobster facts are unequal! And you’re extremely pretty.
Thanks

What happened to the lobster in this video? I really enjoyed the video by the way 😊
