AT 48, I just have peace and just don't care what people think. For those of us who are single, men hate that they can't control you at this age. You are right. We are in control of our own happiness.

Some older women are in competition. I'm living my best life. Competing with no one. Trying to be a better me every day. We are all absolutely beautiful. It's a sad woman that always needs to put another woman down to make themselves fill good.

I believe this young lady hasn’t surround herself with these type of women . Maybe that’s why she has these negative thoughts about older women. I’m 50 years old with adult daughter , she told me about her exfriends mothers behaving in such a way . But I will say that has nothing to do with age it’s a mind set . And at the age of 50 I want to live and do what God has me to do and help the younger generation as we do this thing call life.

Yes Monica…the 40’s are a great decade for women. I can say this at 62. I look back and think I looked my best in my 40’s. Skin still tight, body doing alright etc. Now that does change in late 40’s early 50 via the menopause. The menopause is no joke…..all that weight gain, skin sagging etc as the estrogen basically drops to nada. I started on bio-identical hormones in my late 50’s and wish I had started at 50 (thats when the pause hit me hard) so my advice to every woman out here is to talk to your doc about hormone replacement. It got a bad rap in the 90’s and that should not have been the case. My mom was on hormone replacement from the age of 36 due to a medical emergency and she had a full hysterectomy. She was on hormone replace until her late 70’s and she looked and felt great. No health issues and only took a baby aspirin until she moved on to her greater glory at 87.
My confidence was never a problem but you just become more sure of yourself as you articulated. I am fortunate to still be married to a terrific guy after 26 years while everyone else I know has gotten divorced once their kids went off to college. I think it is important to let yourself and your spouse be the individual and unique human beings that we are. I’m not the type to spy on my man,,,look at his emails and phone calls etc cause I think I am still quite fab and the catch of his life so I just say..do want you want to do…cause I know what I’m gonna do if you decide to play games. And I do not worry about it. I believe in not suffocating him or my son…and I think that is why they are so happy(at least that is what they say and act like) life is a journey not a sprint. Exhale..breathe and enjoy all the simple pleasures life has to offer. This was long so you might not read it but hey…I’d say you are doing alright. You are not like some of these obsessed lux tubers….we enjoy your take on things and you genuinely seem authentic so keep it up and enjoy your life and family. BTW do not miss any annual physicals and stay on top of your numbers. Too many of our folks have health challenges that are preventable if we stay on top of our health. 62 and on no meds…….now let me go do my cardio for the day. Cheers and Happy Birthday to you!

You're absolutely right about wearing makeup I wear a little when I'm going to church or some type of engagement. No makeup during the week...
I will tell you, I will be 50 next year and I believe the 40s and 50s are the best time of life honestly. I have been having the best time of my life, I have been looking AND feeling my best. Every day I get up, I'm so happy, fulfilled and full of joy. My only advice is to keep on working smarter, doing what you do best and doing what you love. When I don't like or love something anymore... I'm done. And, that's how I've been rolling. Thanks for always sharing such beautiful things with all of us.
