For me, "Far From Heaven" is an absolutely impeccable movie. Every single facet is top-notch: the direction, writing, cinematography, acting, set design, costumes, score... I'm sure even craft services was amazing! It's as close to "perfect" as you can get, IMO. You can maybe fault it for being "too melodramatic", but that's the genre it was emulating, and it did so exceptionally well.
Natalie knocked it out of the park in "Jackie". "Far From Heaven" was such a good movie!!!! Very underrated movie. I think RUclips has it for free viewing if anyone is interested.
I first saw Natalie in "Leon" when I was a kid and I became an instant fan. I knew she had IT and I'm so happy she became what she became. And Julianne Moore is a legend and so sweetly humble.
They are both so humble and talented!! So incredible you got these two Stars on WWHL! Thank you 😊 and thank you Todd Haynes for bringing these legends together in the fabulous May December. I suggest watching it Andy Cohen before embarrassingly interviewing them
For years now, I have said her performance in Far from Heaven was grossly overlooked; also, she could easily have taken another Oscar for A Single Man, but for Mo'Nique's performance, which was impeccable.
I love Julianne, she is such a sweetheart. I thought her performance in Magnolia was amazing, that scene in the pharmacy getting all the pain meds was off the charts.
I am no movie critic or acting expert, but I feel kind of special that each of these phenomenal actors named their best performances to be the ones I thought were their best, even though I haven’t seen all of their performances. I thought both were robbed of Oscars for those roles!!! They were just breathtakingly, astonishingly, outstanding!!!!!!
totally agree with both of them, Moore should have won "Far from Heaven" and Portman for "Jackie" too, and for Moore, she had a very strong year in 2003, she was nominated for best actress in "Far from Heaven" and best supporting in "The hours", she lost the best actress to Nicole Kidman, her costar in "The hours", that was debatable, all three actresses in "The Hours" Julianne Moore, Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman had excellent reviews and each one of them had won multiple nominations and awards in the preseason. Moore was again nominated best supporting actress for "The Hours", but Meryl Streep was not due to technical reasons, she was nominated for "Adaptation" instead, both women lost the best supporting actress to Catherine Zeta Jones from "Chicago", which was hard to believe, Jones was the weaker one, either Moore or Streep should have won the best supporting actress.
@manantial773 I don't think you read the comment. They are referring to the 2003 Oscars when Julianne Moore and Merly Streep lost to Catherine Zeta Jones in the best Supporting Actress category. Emma Stone was not nominated that year 🤦🏽♂️🤔
YES YES YES to Julianne mentioning Far From Heaven. That film was amazing and tackled some issues that even in 2002 were hard for ppl to mention. Nicole was amazing in The Hours but Moore should've won that year no question.
Natalie--the film was probably a little too soapy/melodramatic for the Academy, but The Other Boleyn Girl is my favorite performance of hers. Julianne--I can get behind Far From Heaven, but The End of the Affair and An Ideal Husband are both vastly underrated performances.
This was for her Oscar-nominated roles. Julianne Moore was nominated for Boogie Nights, The End of The Affair, Far From Heaven, The Hours and Still Alice. Safe is very underrated.
I agree that Natalie was robbed for “Jackie”. And Ms. Moore was robbed for “Far From Heaven”. On another note, I just finished listening to Streisand’s memoir, and I feel like I’ve broken up with someone- there’s a big void in my life now that I’m not listening to her in all my free time. I’ve already listened to all of Andy’s audio books… so I’ve moved on to Patti Lupone…the pain is beginning to ease.
I don’t think telling what you think is your best performance is that weird. You worked hard on that performance and put a lot of work in it. You can talk about it I feel.
These two actresses are very inconsistent. When they're good they can be very good but sometimes they are awful. Julianne Moore is someone who I grew up watching or let's say I kind of started watching her when she wasn't an A-list yet and then saw her become one and she has amazing screen presence but her acting hasn't alway been the best. Natalie has been great (Black Swan is by far her best performance) but sometimes she's been awful. Julianne did not win an oscar for her best performance. Her two best performances are in Vanya on 42nd street and Safe. Natalie's best performance is Black Swan by far.
i cheered in my living room that Julianne said Far From Heaven! it was her best Oscar nominated performance
And she was nominated for “The Hours” (2002) the same night as well.
For me is Boogie Night
Yes she should have won for Far From Heaven. It’s a gorgeous moving film

Agreed. That was the movie I really fell in love with Julianne Moore.
They're both basically perfect in everything.
I LOVE "Far from Heaven". I'm so happy Julianne chose that one.
They are both so humble and talented!! So incredible you got these two Stars on WWHL! Thank you 😊 and thank you Todd Haynes for bringing these legends together in the fabulous May December. I suggest watching it Andy Cohen before embarrassingly interviewing them

Far from heaven is just the moving beautiful, moving and emotional portrayal - an absolute masterpiece from Julianne Moor
Natalie was robbed from an Oscar for her portrayal as Jackie O. She was impeccable.
I agree, she was the best and even the critics believe that but there was more love for Emma Stone
Nooooo, isabelle huppert should win
Katie Holmes played a better Jackie.
Agreed!
Oscars and awards are not about who did the best it's literally a popularity contest. They "campaign" for votes, it's known
I love Julianne, she is such a sweetheart. I thought her performance in Magnolia was amazing, that scene in the pharmacy getting all the pain meds was off the charts.
Agree. She is next level. All the mixed emotions in the pharmacy & through out the film were brilliant.

Nope, Emma Stone deserved that Oscar.

Star Wars
I’ve waited 20 years to hear that.-
And, I knew it.
Julianne Moore's done WAY better performances than Still Alice.
Magnolia for example.
Natalie should have won 3 times for all of her three nominations but thank god she won for Black swan!!
I love this. Thank you Andy.
Theyre right, those are their best performances
For me it's Safe for Julianne
This was for her Oscar-nominated roles.
Julianne Moore was nominated for Boogie Nights, The End of The Affair, Far From Heaven, The Hours and Still Alice.
Safe is very underrated.
This one and A Single Man are standouts to me. Though Savage Grace is a personal favorite. And any Paul Thomas Anderson films she was in.

Black Swan was a better role than Jackie, but maybe the latter was more difficult. Far from Heaven is an easy one to agree with.
Natalie Portman should have won the Oscar for Jackie
Natalie ❤️
💖🔥🌟
Love Jackie
Jackie film was an obvious win for Portman. No better performance will be seen.
Both fantastic, but I think Julianne Moore should've won for a performance she wasn't even nominated for, Safe

They won all awards by their roles in the film
Appreciate the honesty, but they’re wrong lol they both won for their best performances each
may i say that although i'm a pro Palestine supporter , i have a huge love and respect for natalie portman ..
I did not love Natalie as Jackie. She was fine, the movie was bad.
