I started learning Czech just over a year ago and when I started learning this case, my girlfriend's name was the first one for me to practice with. Her name is Maria. And I think she is super. So now when I am addressing her, she's Super Mario .... thank you crazy Czech language :)
And thank you for the videos Petr - I am enjoying randomly picking one to watch.
Haha, thats hilarious. Keep going! 😀
Petře! Děkuju za video.

Dobrý den, zajímalo by mě použití "ova" u ženských příjmení, máte nějaké video, které tuto problematiku vysvětluje?
Great! Very didactic!
Thanks! So glad you like it😊
you pronounce "vowel" - wowel.... i hear this so often! In German i hear them say Folksvagen but in english we say Volks Wagen.
Czechs seem to pronounce the v and w similar?
Yeah, in Czech it is the same.
Great video, thanks! 😊
Díky😎

Really great video! Thanks 😊
But how does it work with, for example, my name: Rico. Does it change at all in the vocative case?
Díky moc Rico! Not really, we usually don´t change foreign names, unless it sound the same as one of our own😉
It depends on content. We're saying 'Ahoj Rico,' or 'Rico, podej mi to,' but in different sentence it is: 'Neviděli jste Rica? Pošlu ti to po Ricovi.'

Daniel - Danile? nebo Daniele?
I would shorten it - Dane! Or also Danieli, but it sounds a bit awkward
