Foo Fighters have been my favourite band and probably always will be. Where I think Dave sings his with an active emotion, and clearly shows that studio strength and in live shows too, I also think this version has as much emotion. They approach it with that emotion of sadness and sympathy rather than the active strength that Dave so well projects. And I think in each of their versions, it has its own incomparable value

i am a recent convert to the phonics however i would say we are definately not getting the best of the band out of this song , they do not make this cover thier own unlike the version of nothing compares to you, but the pinnacle of performances is the live version of maybe tommorrow live from dakota , one man owning an entire arena with one voice and a guitar please check it out its magnifico
look up the lyrics. Songs don't have one specific meaning, it's all about how the audience (you) perceive it. To me, this song sounds like it's about comforting someone close to you who you really care about .
the lyrics are perfect for stereophonics' style........and Jones sing the lyrics with more sadness, instead of David Grohl, who sing it with anger...... it's a quite sad lyric, so Jones sing it better than Grohl to me (and I'm a Foo's fan). Moreover, this is a special song to me; It tells the emotions that I feel for a very special person who's with another boy, who always badly behave with her... thanks welsh guys, you perfectly explains my feelings.....

@Alargh Dave Grohl isn't singing with just anger, he's singing with a built up frustration that people aren't letting others see the best of them which is exactly what this song is about, so the way this guy is singing it almost doesn't make sense. Dave Grohl sings it with so much more emotion it almost seems like this guy is just reading from a phone book.
if i'd win a million $, i'd spend at least the half for a private audience of kelly for my little fucked up village here in austria - to open their mind for whats real talent, and real skill of voice is. fuck those charts and supercommerce. kelly's voice is unexplainable TOP. Grohl is a legend, don't get me wrong (massive Foo Fighters fan here) but I do like this version just as much. We're all entitled to opinions though, and if you want to spend more time commenting on your dislike for it than actually listening to the song, fair enough :P
