I usually think drone footage is kinda neat, but it doesn't represent what you would see from the ground.... But at 14:32 , it's sooo worth it!! What a peculiar landscape to us, southerners.... Thanks!
Two people. One Canoe. Deep into the backcountry. So cool to watch your knowledge and skills progress over the years to allow you to take on such a trip with confidence. Can't wait to watch each segment unfold.
Many years ago (1980's) I was with a small group paddling some of the same water. We did about 180 miles and believe it or not we never saw a bug! It was August and for some unknown reason there were no bugs and almost no rain.
King of the world! Great to see Matt along for a big trip. Loved every second and can't wait for more. Are you editing now and then Alex editing once he joins? Always curious how you split that up, since editing is kind of the reward for all the filming work.
Just what we needed - another great series preparing our hearts and minds to get back outdoors. Looks incredible and can't wait to see what the next episode has in store.
Just what I needed on this cold Sunday morning with a cup of tea following a 2 day ice storm in Nova Scotia. Gives hope that winter will end and Spring is around the corner. Thanks so much for sharing your journeys. Very much looking forward to the next few weeks of thoroughly taking in and enjoying these episodes!
Mosquitos and Flies are a nightmare in deepforests or near a swamp lol. Don't go there during July. Best months to visit the North are August-September.
I hope your channel chugs along for a few years without a lot of traction …. Get to keep the quality high as it is …. And then all of a sudden you get millions and millions of views. Such a good channel to watch.
Pretty spectacular so far. The sound of the mosquitos and the blood from blackfly bites remind me of many a trip in northern Canada. Nice rapids so far and the weather is too nice. You need a little wind to sort out the bugs. I am sure things will change going forward.
OMG. I am so jazzed up for this expedition! I can't wait for the next show drop. Fun and courageous that each of you hold the torch and scavenge your own adventures! thank you from us.
Bravo Northern Scavenger again! Way overdue on another epic adventure. truly top of your class in canoeing adventure videos on RUclips today, so glad to see you back 🇨🇦🛶
Was that a bear 🐻 looking to join you (in the red circle) ??? What dates did you accomplish this awesome river trip ? Thanks for letting us tag along on the stern of your canoe 🛶
What an epic canoe adventure so far beautiful landscape / wildlife, but those bugs are so nasty to bad the cabin you came across on the island wasn't kept up , would have been a great place to get away from those bugs for the night . wish there was a love button to push, 👍
Great start off to the video. 2 things .....1: Should always send the Dragonfly Union a heads up of your trek to help with the bugs. 2: If you need to drop one and lots of bugs around especially mornings, do what you can to protect your swing-set. Helps alleviate pain down the road hehe. Looking forward to the next episode.
Glad you're into the content and you can relate to our style of tripping. I wouldn't say we're the only real outdoor canoeists on RUclips though. There are lots sharing real adventures in their own unique way. Different strokes for different folks I suppose

You make me happy ! I waiting for the next one. Great pictures my friend.
Looking forward to watching this new series! And oh my goodness the reflections on the lakes were unbelievably stunning. I can only imagine how it felt to be surrounded by them.
@@NorthernScavenger Hahaha! Yes, that was an interesting experience. I love being able to do something people say hasn't or can't be done .... as I'm sure you can attest to. :) Hoping to snowshoe back in there this winter before the lakes thaw. You and your crew are always an inspiration - and your videography skills are outstanding.
Isn't that the same put in location that you used on your first Labrador expedition? I know the route is completely different, but the train ride and put-in reminds me of the one you used before. Can't wait for the next episode, and i want to tell you that y'all make these videos a little more interesting than most of the other people documenting similar trips. I also can't wait for the smiling faces when your special delivery comes in from Ontario. 😀
Awesome Ep. 1. Those skeeters might have drove me over the edge. A bug jacket would have been my home for sure. Looking forward to the next episodes, thanks for sharing. :)
I have found that red wine and hard liquor give me a terrible headache!! Dehydration too but drinking water alleviates that. Nothing alleviates the alcohol headache. I just has to wear off.
Xander Budnick sent me. My first video on your channel and I gotta say, the quality on this is insane! Definitely going to enjoy watching this. Edit: Subscribing for sure
Loved this! A great start to the series! looking forward to watching the rest :D

My heart was in my throat during the rapids. I was so glad to see you got into the water. Wash those bug parts off! Great trip to watch so far.
Very nice. I travelled through there in 1971.
The bloody face is exactly why I'll only camp in the fall! Lol That would drove me nuts.

Looking forward to the rest of this series. Loved Crossing Labrador.

Thanks Jacqueline, I don't know how people managed without the bug nets back in the day
