    Can you do one of these for each brand? Also can you guys give me some advice? I ride on a 100 acre farm, low elevation, but there's a lot of technical tree riding on steep terrain, small ravines, lots of fields with big rolling hills, and a couple big flat fields. What should I buy between these sleds: Ski-doo Summit 850 naturally aspirated 154", Polaris Khaos 850 155", Arctic Cat M8 154", or Arctic Cat Riot X? Leaning towards the Riot X rn, there's one at a dealer near me and it would suit my riding style pretty well, but I'm still interested in the others

    Whats your guys opinion on a 2016 skidoo 600r HO?

    • @canadien15farmlife58
      @canadien15farmlife58 3 года назад

      Take my opinion with a grain of salt because I'm having a lot of problems with my MXZ 600 rn. To be fair, mine's an 09, but still I know people that even have issues with newer ones. One of my friends has a 2020 MXZ 600 and he's had some motor problems. I would generally stay away from Ski-doo, Arctic Cat make the best product right now. They have (In my opinion) the best chassis, their motors are bulletproof, and their generally cheaper, new or used. Also they've been using the same chassis since 2012 and it's very proven and if you break a plastic you'll easily find a replacement, same goes for mechanical parts. If you're going with Arctic Cat, try to find a ZR6000. If you do aggressive riding, go with the XC or RR model of the ZR6000. If you're more of a laid back trail cruiser type rider, go for the ZR Limited and spec it with the 600 if you're in the 600 market. They also have the 800 available, but if you're strictly trail riding then that probably isn't necessary. If you do go with Ski-doo (I don't recommend) then you have a few options. That 2016 would work, but there are some other choices. If you're a more aggressive rider, Renegade XRS with a 600 or 800. Or the MXZ X 850. If you're a more laid back trail rider, then go for a used MXZ TNT 600 (They have really good value, especially the XP chassis) or the regular MXZ 600. And for all of those, go fuel injected. The Arctic Cats come standard with C-TEC2 injection, but you can option a Ski-doo with a carb. Don't. Carburated Ski-doos are nightmares. As for the other brands, Polaris reliability is even worse than Ski-doo and that's saying something, and Yamahas are good but only for extreme speed and groomed trails only. There's your choices, I know this comment is very long but I wanted to make sure you got good advice. If you ride off-trail, then disregard everything I just said, none of those sleds will do well off-trail.

    Great video idea. This was a great example of just how difficult, or rather, indecisive, picking a new sled to buy can be, especially if you're new to the hobby. It also really showcases the great lineup of offerings from Polaris. No matter what terrain you're looking to ride, trail, mountain, boondocking, ect., you're probably going to find there's at least a couple different polaris sleds that would work very well in each category. I'd say your friend made the right choice, if it's mostly trails he's looking to ride, the VR1 is the best you can get right now, although that XCR is still a trail monster in its own right. And, for those who can't decide what terrain they'll be riding most, I'd say there's no better choice to go with really than the Polaris Assault 146. As an all around, sort of, everything sled, it really is about perfect. From on trail riding to off trail riding and back again, the Assault feels right at home the whole way.
    This video should really help some folks out though.
    Thanks again, guys.

    It's going to be tough switching from Ski-Doo, the are so many reasons not to, for me personally. Probably have to get one of those aftermarket linq adapters. Won't be able to program all my keys to be interchangeable. the non adjustable clutch will be annoying in the mountains, I will have to buy adjustable weights and a tether. I would really rather have Shot too. One of my friends is a skidoo certified mechanic, so I really didn't want to switch. I have every reason to stay with doo. But Polaris is making the sled that I want more, and I see no signs of Doo taking any notice that they are in such a distant second. I have waited till next year too many years in a row. I understand that many high altitude riders need (or think they need) turbo and short tunnel, but I do not need or want either, so there's really no reason to buy anything new from Doo. I have the low seat and low bar riser on my Summit SP, I could buy expert package shocks or better if I wanted them, I can make it a short tunnel if I want to go 165. Nothing substantial has changed since 2017. They are not even teasing future weight reductions, so I'm done saying wait till next year. Now that I'm making the switch, maybe I won't buy from them ever again. I buy a new sled every two to three years. Losing one sale to me now probably means losing a lot more sales to me in the next ten years. But good luck catering to first time buyers with cheap 80 horsepower no-fun sleds, I'm sure that will make up for the repeat buyer of expensive high performance machines that you just lost.

    Any manufacturer not trying to cut weight to match Polaris is going the same path as Yamaha. One of them is too arrogant to believe this is true, the other one is too broke to do anything about it. It wasn't very long ago that Yamaha was that well-funded arrogant sled manufacturer that made a conscious decision to increase weight instead of cutting it... What ever could have happened?

    It's my understanding that the chassis between the axys and matryx are exactly the same. The difference being with the plastics and shapes of the side panels etc (better, as in warmer with more wind protection on the matryx). I think they have 129" and 137" iin the Indy, then 144" in the Assault platform. Idk though, I don't like Polaris that much so idk their models that well. They might still be running 121", not sure. My favorite setup for a sled is 600 class 137" track for a trail sled, and then 800 class 144" track for off-trail. Some guys like the 850 129" track setup, but those things are just way too aggressive for me. In my opinion, 129" track is only good on a race sled and 800 class motors are only good in off-trail sleds
