Hi Svetlana, it’s lovely to see you again, I think the prices of clothing and footwear are fairly similar to the west, as always you have to pay extra for quality goods, the difference I have noticed is alcohol prices which tend to be less than in the UK, I would like to know if the cost of having a car is more expensive than before the sanctions and travelling around on public transport, my most annoying thing in this country is the prices of fuel for heating and fuel for my car, it looks like you and your friend may have got your daily steps for the day by walking around the shopping centre so very well done, looking forward to seeing you again ❤

One thing shoppers can do to make low quality clothing last longer, is to sew / restitch all the sewn seams, which will ensure they don't come apart after a few washes. I know for a fact that more inflation is coming, but it isn't just a "your country" thing, it's global and I'm convinced it's all by design. Take care dear lady. 🤗
That is correct! Prices alone don't mean anything Svet the 'economist'! Wages have much to do with setting of prices in a region. Sanctions against Russia are still taking hold and will cause huge problems for the orcs in the months and years ahead. Serves them right since their 'sanctions' against a peaceful neighbor have killed over 50 thousand civilians in their homes, destroying heat/lights/water in the dead of winter! What neanderthals!
Nice report Svetlana, I know someone from Surgut, funny to see this city. The prices are extremely high for most items, while I am used to our high prices in Europe. I actually never go to large shopping centers anymore. I don't care about fashion myself and mainly buy outdoor clothing. When are you going to travel again? Good luck with your nice videos.
Actually there is an investigation going on in Poland because the Hong Kong enterprise that Reserved allegedly sold its Russian shopping infractructure happens to be its subsidiary underneath. So all these former Polish now rebranded brands/shops are still Polish. Good day.
I think the mall looks clean & organized from what we see ..the prices are high considering the average wages of Russians however they are high in Canada as well but slightly more in line with the earning power ...all in all ...these sanctions have not done what they intended ..it appears Russia has has been able to circumvent the restrictions ...and underneath it all the retailers are still there as you mention the store clerk indicating even if product is unseen they can get it ...money talks everything else walks!
Sanctions don't necessarily forbid exporting all Western consumer goods to Russia or operating stores in Russia. But many Western companies have voluntarily withdrawn from Russia anyway. Goods are imported through intermediate countries if not possible directly. Pretty much everything is now more expensive to Russians than before the wa... EXTRA SPECIAL MILITARY OPERATION TURBO EDITION. So, you can get almost anything you need, but you will pay for it. And I'm sure the inflation is only going to get higher. PS. And one thing I don't understand and approve of is Westeners like you spewing the "whatabouthisms", which is a well known tactic in Russian propaganda. Canadian purchasing power is on a different planet compared to Russians. The average salary in Russia is like $500-$800, depending on who you ask. Average pension is under $200.
@@joojoojeejee6058 I appreciate your perspective, but I would like to clarify that my intention was not to engage in "whataboutism" or any form of propaganda. My comment was merely an observation based on the economic implications of sanctions on Russia and the challenges faced by its citizens. I acknowledge the economic hardships experienced by the average Russian citizen, which are indeed significant. My intention was to highlight the broader impact of sanctions on everyday people rather than diverting attention from the topic at hand. However, if my comment came across differently, I apologize for any misunderstanding
@@timothymanues2469 A lot of Putinism in your comment. What I'm saying is, not everything is related to sanctions! Some Western companies leaving Russia doesn't necessarily have anything to do with sanctions, but more to do with their own free will, involving a difficult/hostile business environment, difficult logistics and of course ethics and their reputation. Many companies left Russia immediately when the war started. They didn't HAVE TO, but they did it anyway. Big companies such as IKEA. For some reason Russians seem to think that everything is directly related to "sanctions". And usually they don't realize that private companies might have other reasons to leave besides just sanctions...
Whether western brands are gone or not, it would be fair to say that younger Russian consumers still feel an afinity to western retailers and lifestyles - or putting it another way, they are unlikely to prefer Chinese retailers and lifestyles anytime soon.
Hell let's be honest if you buy many western brands you are buying Chinese manufactured goods .take Nike for example or stretchers.not made in the US anymore.
Very interesting. Quite expensive tbh especially considering income there. I'm curious about the cars on display there in the mall, there's so many lol. Was it always like that?

I am very curious Svetlana and I hope that you reply. Since you consider Surgut, at a population of 400,000, a small town, how did you feel when you were at the University of Kansas (28,000 students) in Manhattan, Kansas (54,000 people)? Very tiny places in comparison to St. Petersburg (around 5 million people) where you feel comfortable. Blonde got lost in a shopping mall, ha ha ha, that story never gets off all over the World. Hm yes, I did notice that the "quality" of the goods is not as it use to be, same as the food portions got smaller and carry same price. But You in Siberia, so to by a T-shirt is like "CRAZY" !!! do they have specialty stores for Siberia?like for northern climate? in Canada they have special brands that makes Northern stuff for cold place, but they make T-shirts too, and they are very well made and heavy, I still have some and they are more than 15 years old and still good, these stores are not only in Canada but sells only in the North. And it looks like the prices at the mall are about the same as in the USA. TH, and yes we do have stores that are just out of INSANE about the prices, but there not in every mall and cost of shopping in them is mind blowing.....I shop there only for Christmas. TH
I doubt this would be any interset to you, but never buy Levis. They are garbage. I've worn Wrangler for 3 years straight doing professional logging, & they are still good. (I have 2 pairs)
What is the average salary of a person who would shop in this mall? That might give me a better perspective on affordability for Russians. Maybe you have that covered in another video?
Boris Johnson and the American stop the peace talks and big business buying Ukraine farm land and Putin has minerals and oil and gas and grains and nuclear fuel and other resources and sell to China and North Korea and Africa countries and Latino American and Putin took the children out of the war zone and that why Putin has a arrest warrant and Russia and China economics is better than the European countries and America and British economy and Putin is loved in India and China and North Korea and Iran and Africa countries

Wow, you still have snow?
Hello watching from the Philippines..Do u have tiktok account?Coz I saw your vids uploaded in there not sure if its your own account.
Can you tell me the name of this account? I’m pretty sure it’s not mine
Small city Surgut with 400.000 people? OK. Peace & Love to everybody.
Svetlana ❤ please go shopping to Victorias Secret or Ann Summers if they have those in Russia 😉😍😊
Grande Svetlana, video molto bello che dimostra che la Russia non ha bisogno di nessuno i negozi sono pieni di merci tu sei stupenda come sempre anche se non hai votato Putin, ho visto il video, TVB ❤❤

Anna from Ukraine has more beautiful nails and a more important Message...🤔🤣🤣
@@martinkasper197 Yes! Sadly many of her sisters in Ukraine have stringy hair, dirty faces, broken bloody nails from digging through the rubble for their babbushkas, their daughters and sons - their fathers and brothers are either gone fighting against Russian orcs or already killed or horribly wounded. Homes, villages, heat/light/water destroyed in the dead of winter - all because they and their elected leader cannot tolerate a wealthy, successful democracy at their border! Pathetic, horrible!!!
Yes, visit Anna From Ukraine for the TRUTH! SLAVA!
I live in Sioux City, Iowa, the hometown of Kirk Hinrich who played basketball at the University of Kansas from 1999 - 2003. Kirk’s uniform number #10 was retired by the U of K in 2009. Kirk was the first-round number 7 overall NBA draft pick in 2003 and was drafted by the Chicago Bulls.
Towns with less than a hundred thousand people in America have better stores, malls than Russia's population centers. And they have FLUSH TOILETS TOO!
We finns are actually born brothers with russians. And some says russians are actually the finns, they only speak russian language.
And Stalin just wanted to visit his finnish brothers in 1939/40...🤓🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@martinkasper197 Stalin was the great man.
@@vilivonkin6243 Stalin was a butcher.
No, they are not. Russia was born out of the Kiev empire that was ruled by the Rurik dynasty from Sweden.
@@FredrikLimegård bullshit comment.
Russia s/h renamed Starbucks as "Tsarbucks" and used a silhouette of Catherine the Great.
How they went with Stars Coffee instead of Czarbucks is a total fail....
why? do you think the coffee of Star Bucks tastes good?

TH
hi can we use credit cards (visa, master...) in Russia now?
No
Would I be correct in concluding that clothing companies in Russia are selling lower quality goods to try and keep prices low?
The quality doesn't change but prices are way higher now.
@natyrusa I only mentioned that because Svetlana kept mentioning the low quality clothing.
@@WiebeMusicClass well, but we shop in different stores. I prefer Love Republic and Ostin.

I doubt this would be any interset to you, but never buy Levis.
They are garbage.
I've worn Wrangler for 3 years straight doing professional logging, & they are still good. (I have 2 pairs)
I agree from Colorado
Levi's were good up to the early 80's, then they went off-shore and turned into garbage
What is the average salary of a person who would shop in this mall? That might give me a better perspective on affordability for Russians. Maybe you have that covered in another video?
In Moscow, the average after taxes is like 800 dollar per month.
@@FredrikLimegård thanks!
@@WiebeMusicClass I'm from Chelyabinsk, not from Moscow, and I get 27-35K rubles per month, for example.

So many western brand garments are made in China. During the day they manufacture Levis and at night the Russian brand, same exact garment. lol
