It really shows that Blizzard has been out of touch with the entire MMO market. They literally had to just look at any top 10 mmo list and one of the year prior to that and ask themselves what causes that certain MMO to drop from that list.
9/10 times its unnecessary grind, p2w shops, or making it so easy to catch up for new players that the best way to play the game is to just not play it and wait for idiots to spend 20 hours of their day grinding every so you can get it for free a month later. The details of this situation are especially damning though. I mean an employee committed suicide after a truly horrific situation of physical sexual exploitation by her boss and sexual abuse from a large number of her male coworkers. They shared photos of her naked in public at a holiday party and faced no consequences. Physical sexual harassment (groping, menacing advances, jabbing) seems to be happening on a mass scale too. Most companies will never have a situation like that. There are good people there too, but I really wonder which group is larger and what the exact proportions of this are.

Account for all of the money Blizzard milks out of a single individual and tell me what they've done to show an investment into their game, company, and employees, with the years of sub and xpac money. Tell me how much time you played WoD and tell me it was better than The Witcher 3, or GTAV. Tell me an expac is worth as much as a whole new game, when they've been reusing assets from the OG blizz team?
It's big bucks, if you understand the realm it exist in. I think you're mistaken and just assumed it wasn't "big bucks" because you didn't care to consider every good, and terrible thing, you paid money and time for.

@@budsvan12 I mean, yew, blizz isn't up to snuff compared to what they have been.
But they're still the best game out there. I've played since 2007. And I'd I had a problem with all the money I've sunk into the game, then I wouldn't stopped a long time ago.
Don't get me wrong, I understand completely where you're coming from. And yes, blizzard has alot of making up to do with their customers. Especially ones that have stuck it out through thick thick then. But the game is still pretty much the best out there.
And certainly the best in its genre.
Activision getting involved was the WORST thing that could happen to wow. And I was screaming that from day one.
I still believe that to be true.

@@codyrockwood15 I just think you underestimate what big bucks can look like in gaming, they're the "best in the genera" because they used to invest into it, what's the state and stats of modern Blizzard? I respect your opinion, and I'm sure you've enjoyed the investment you put into the game, but for me man, them making progress worthless, xpacs a "season pass" like adventure, and just shitting out the most blatant money grabbing they can makes it hard for me to understand how you're content investing all the time and money into a company that no longer feels the need to impress us anymore. They won't hold the monikers you referenced for long, and as many have said. WoW is the biggest WoW killer on the market.

@@budsvan12 so I did the math, and over the years my sub cost has come to around almost $3,000. So I was wrong.
You're right, that is big money going into a game that doesn't proportionatly return the investment back Into the game anymore.
I just hope they pull their head out kf there ass, and that these new announced changes are actually the start of them on the road to redemption.

Actually i did always enjoy Preach's WoW content. But in the last few years, i realized how i watched him less and less, but it wasn't because i didn't like his channel anymore! The only reason was, that i didn't want to play WoW anymore and as such, didn't want to watch content about it.
Looking forward to your new projects and ideas! Will definitely check it out.

The good thing about FFXIV for instance is that when a class is unbalanced (too powerful) instead of nerfing it and frustrate the players, they buff other classes and fights to balance them

Whenever I hear the argument that the pandemic makes a game's issues okay, I think about it like this. They still charged full price. They still charge your WoW subscription for the same price. CoD Cold War launched with the least amount of content in CoD launch history, but they still charged $60-$70 with a battle pass + microtransactions, and all I heard was "but the pandemic" no fuck you. The pandemic is a perfectly fine reason for reduced content and quality of it, but not to still charge full price, or even release unfinished shit in the first place.
