Hi Dave, Happy Friday 🎉 Ah that reccy certainly paid off! 😊👌. A fabulous spot for a camp 🏕. That sky was gorgeous too. Nothing better than kicking back once you are all set up, and indulging in some nice food and drink 😋. This looks like a stunning area. Thanks for taking us along! All the best, Shell and Pete 😊👊👍
Hi Pete, She’ll, I hope you are both well. Yeah the reccy was spot on, found us both great pitches for our tents, and it was a cracking evening. The wind dropped right down and it was a very peaceful night in the tent. Funny enough I’m back in the area tomorrow. We had planned for the Lake District but the forecast is more favourable in the Forest of Bowland so I’m heading there. Nothing major, about a 7 miler, but it’s not too far to travel from home so it’s all good. Have a great weekend All the best, Dave 😀⛰🥾🏕️
Nice one Dave, looks like it stayed dry for you guys too..grand spot for the summit camp with the back up of a solid shelter if things turned nasty. Hopefully you got to enjoy some nice clear starry skies. ATB Kenny
Hi Kenny, yeah we had a dry night. A very calm one too, the wind dropped right off and the skies cleared nicely. We even got a firework display from the farm below in the valley. 🤣 The shelter up there is mega, 4 cubicles all with a proper bench in so you can get out of the wind whichever way it’s blowing. All,the best mate Dave 😀⛰🥾🏴🏴
Ey up Butchy. Thanks for watching mate. I have to take an Aldi Noodle Pot on a camping trip. Those sea to summit meals are too expensive to take two each time. 🤣🤣 All the best mate, see you soon. 👍🥾⛰🏕️
@@Kev_Russ Ey up Kev. Yeah the shelter up there is amazing. 4 cubicles with benches so whatever the wind is doing you can get out of it. All the best mate 👍🥾⛰🏕️🏴🏴
Morning Alistair. It certainly is. I love the Forest of Bowland, you can walk for hours and see no one. And the western flanks are so easy for me to get to. I can leave the house and within just over an hour I can be on the top of Parlick. Looking at the forecast again for Saturday for the Lakes I think I might be in the Forest of Bowland again. Have a great weekend Alistair.
Nice one Dave, cracking head torch shot. Not entirely sure what that was in your cup though😂. Looking forward to the next one mate. All the best out there mate⛰😁🥾
@@trekkingwithtony I acquired the head torch from work. It’s one the Traffic Management use when they are in the motorways at night! It’s Irn Bru in the cup mate. I do like Irn Bru. All the best Tony. I was meant to be in the lakes on Saturday but the weather forecast is rubbish so going to go to the Forest of Bowland where hopefully it’s more favourable. 😀⛰🥾
Hi Dave, cracking looking spot for a camp and loved that wee or not so wee shelter cairn with the seats, very civilised…..do my eyes deceive me or was that the Bru in your cup, top man if it was, I’d still have went for a merlot or a cab sauv myself 😂 Take care mate, look forward to part 2, Steven 😊🥾⛰️🏴🏴
@@outofayrshire143 Evening Steven. It’s brilliant up there mate, loads of great flat spots to pitch the wigwam. I no, your eyes don’t deceive you, it is Irn Bru. I could be Scottish. I love Irn Bru, haggis, lorne sausage, and Scotch pies. I have to draw the line at Whiskey though, that’s minging! 🤣 Have a great weekend mate, all the best pal Dave 😀🥾⛰🏕️🏴🏴
Hi Dave, this is literally 30 minutes from me would be a really easy one to do, what’s the parking like looks like there’s only a few spots. Atb Karl 👍
Hi Karl. Nice one mate, you’re not too far from me then. I’m up in the Forest of Bowland now on Dunsop Fell. There’s loads of parking on fell gate pal. There is about three lay buys all hold two to three cars and rhen there is more spaces down by the crossroads. You will enjoy it mate if you do it. Have a great weekend All the best, Dave 😃🥾⛰🏕️

Great stuff Dave, it's over 3 years since I was on Fair Snape Fell! A lot quieter than the Lakes!
