vidi due volte nel 55 e nel 56 questa Traviata insuperabile da ogni punto di vista.Bastianini e Callas ,due veri musicisti,collaboravano con un chisroscuro commovente,nessuna inutile corona,nessun stupido desiderio di prevalere,credo che a suo modo Pippo fosse insofferente di tale intesa.

Questa è la Storia della musica lirica!!! Due voci stratosferiche come non se ne sono più ascoltate. Commoventi, meravigliose che ci danno gioia e rimpianto, immortali. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

No-one else has ever sang "dite alla giovine" and make the audience cry like Callas. I saw her Covent Garden Traviata in 1958 and just before she started ..."dite alla giovine"... there was this eerie silence and everyone was holding their breath. And when she started it was such a heartbreaking sound it was difficult to hold back our tears. Unforgettable experience....
And Bastianini is amazing also. The two together are an incomparable combination.

How jealous I am that you got to see the incomparable Callas in person. All I can do is listen to You Tube, not that I am complaining. I am grateful for this. And of course Bastianinni is glorious as well(I might have misspelled his name). Bravissimi.

Quindi non lo sapremo mai, non è una certezza, credo sia futile fare congetture però mi sembra che nella foto del Video non sia la Callas o mi sbaglio sembra una cinese e poi le hanno aggiunto le scritte o mi sbaglio.

ugh..listening to this while readying all the sweet comments has made my heart warm enough to fall out of my chest and keep beating. Maria and Giuseppe are a pair truly meant to sing together. Albanese is his only equal.

Probably the most beautiful siniging of all time and he's great too. One year later they repeated it again, not even close to this. (Sorry no Taddei), it was Bastianini again who died too soon too..
No more pain has ever been expressed by anyone than in her voice.here only.. What happened on that day in Milan?.. Di Stefano left early at the end why?.he.didn't come out when it was over.. why...

Впрочем ,они стоят друг друга - Баритон Доминго и сопрано Нетребко ! Ну почему он ещё Айвазова не сравнил с КОРЕЛЛИ ,всё-таки муж сегодняшней "Марии Каллас" !! ДУЭТ БАСТЬЯНИНИ И КАЛЛАС ,"ЖЕМЧУЖИНА" ОПЕРНОГО ИСКУСТВА !

All of the reviews of this recording I've heard say that Bastainini is totally unsympathetic. Whilst he's less subtle than Sereni on the Lisbon Traviata, he's by none means unsympathetic. I also prefer Di Stefano to Kraus, though both are superb.
He poured a lot of passions onto her, that was so wrong. This is so glorious cast, not seen again.
This is done at the same year. Not my favorite tenor, but Ettore is glorious.

mah..... forse se vi abbassaste a ascoltare di piu e conoscere di piu evitereste eccessi di ammirazione. Come si fa a dire nessuna l'ha cantata meglio? Le avete sentite tutte? Studiate... Studiate... In ogni caso eccellente interpretazione.

manoel masini lei ha anche ragione nemmeno Io che studio lirica le ho studiate tutte ma credo sarebbe alquanto arduo, ci ha riportato in una dimensione reale Giustamente.
Alberto il grande (speriamo un giorno), la dimensione reale sarebbe di mettere altra foto. Di primo sguardo sembrerebbe che in luogo di Traviata sia stato postato Il Carnevale di Venezia di Benedicte o "Il Toreador" di Adam ma anche la Maschera di Agamennone di Micene.. In gni caso invitiamo con questa la Sumi Jo a farsi ritrarre in "costumi" decenti perche' far circolare certi "scatti" e' assai poco producente ed invita ad evitarla. Che per altro canta molto bene.
Ne ho ascoltate forse un centinaio di Violette in 55 anni di umile ascolto e credo di non esagerare nel dire che nessuna cantante ,almeno per le testimonianze discografiche a noi pervenute,possa reggere il paragone con la Callas in Traviata.Vorrei chiedere a lei che sembra abbia tanto ma tanto studiato di farmi il nome di tutte queste Violette che sarebbero all'altezza o magari più grandi della Callas.La prego aspetto sua risposta per potere sempre umilmente apprendere
Poi dire che Verdi l'avrebbe voluta ascoltare così... come si fa... con tutto il rispetto, ma conoscendo la prassi interpretativa del XIX secolo ne dubito fortemente.... saranno state piu vicine al suo "colere" (se no poi lo chiamiamo in seduta spiritica) le soprano del primo novecento, fra quelle di cui si possono ascoltare incisioni

Per avere una esecuzione piu' levigata e perfettamente "intonata" ascolti la Tebaldi.
