    Sounds like a godess during flight, during touchdown like an old russian Skoda from 1965!

      We can blame the runway condition for at least 10% of that. 😂

    The G550 is a obviously a nice flying machine, but man it´s heavy on the flight controls (especially the roll) compared to the G650! Beautiful location and great video! Cheers.

      Totally agree, it’s a dream compared to the 450 though. The 550 feels like it’s a sports car compared to that one.

      Did you mean G4 not 450??
      The 450 is lighter on the controls than the 550.
      I’d rank the control feel.
      Heaviest
      G4
      G5/550
      G450
      G650
      Lightest.

    Did you flare? Because I couldn't tell by the video.

    • @GulfstreamGeek
      @GulfstreamGeek  Год назад +17

      Very little, we were performing a short field landing and did not want to waste any runway by floating past our aiming point.

      larger planes dont, the wheels are so far back if you "flare" youll jam the mains into the ground and bounce. U land flat.

    I’ve never understood why some people don’t use the HUD when it’s available.

    • @rtbrtb_dutchy4183
      @rtbrtb_dutchy4183 8 месяцев назад

      Me neither. I’ve been flying with the hud since 2001 and I’ve tried to convert others, but they just won’t. Most people don’t like change.
      When I switched to a different manufacturer, but also with a hud, it was so much easier in my opinion to learn this new aircraft.

    • @SpidaMez
      @SpidaMez 7 месяцев назад

      hud takes away from visibility, so not having it on a visual approach helps the pilot.
      Plus, the HUD can make a pilot lazy and takes away from skill

    • @rtbrtb_dutchy4183
      @rtbrtb_dutchy4183 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@SpidaMez that’s absolute BS. That’s the excuse that people use who don’t want to learn the HUD.
      It doesn’t take away from the visibility. If that was true, the Airforce would take the hud out of all their fighters.
      And no, it doesn’t make a pilot lazy. It’s actually the opposite. Flying with a hud, makes a pilot not have tunnel vision by staring at their instruments inside.
      You can even see it on these RUclips videos, as soon as VR is called, their eyes go from looking down the runway, inside to their instruments. They wouldn’t even know how to fly the airplane by looking outside at the horizon.
      I can fly my airplane with or without a hud, just by looking outside. I don’t need my instruments what a 15° pitch up looks like. I can tell just by looking outside and without a hud.

    • @SpidaMez
      @SpidaMez 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@rtbrtb_dutchy4183 Hud makes pilots worse pilots. You lose the skill of being able to picture the horizon and get the feel for straight and level flight. That is one of the most important aspects of flying a plane. If the hud and instruments fail, it will make you crash.
      TLDR. relying on fancy technology to fly a plane is fucking stupid. that's why a ton of airline pilots have crashed small planes, and recently an idiot got lost in IMC cuz he relyed on foreflight
