I like that this story was more DB than DBZ. It really brought the story back around, basically showing that even with all the crazy shit that happened it all stayed secret enough that the Saiyans and the dragon balls just kinda fell into obscurity.
Eh, I didn’t like the secrecy aspect of it all. In the original DB, people knew and accepted the fact that strong warriors existed, that they could manipulate Ki energy etc. Master Roshi was well known to have invented the Kame Hame Ha, and audiences could be mesmerised by displays of power, skill, and Ki-based techniques during the world tournament. Goku became a hero for defeating King Piccolo. Then DBZ comes around and it seems everyone has forgotten about fighters with Ki blasts, forgot about Goku, Piccolo, about magic (how many people witnessed the giant dragon engulfing the sky every few years?), and now they all think that Ki techniques are just tricks, special effects. This is after witnessing Saiyan aliens landing and destroying a city, having live news coverage of the event, androids destroying their cities, Cell killing off populations, Buu killing and eating everyone… For fuck’s sake!
Cant watch that again. That whole thing brought both the happy nostalgia from the old, but also a sad feeling like all the magic is gone. Felt the same at the end of GT. Even a world made up of magic seems lifeless without goku.

Does Goku Jr have more potential than his predecessors or no? Cause I know a half Saiyan/Earthling has more potential than a full Saiyan, however does that apply to future generations or does the potential die down as the Saiyan blood diminishes?
Dragon Ball GT had a Sad ending. When I first watched the last episode of GT I couldn't believe that Goku was no more. And when I saw this film after GT, I was feeling very sad. Specially when Goku Jr goes to Goku's first house, I got emotional. Then I got lost in nostalgia. In the first episode of Dragon Ball, Goku was living in his cute little house. No more Dragon Ball, I was feeling very sad thinking about this but then I came to know that GT is non-canon and after GT there is also Dragon Ball Super. Then I got some relief😌. I'm not from 19s, I'm from 20s. I never knew about Dragon Ball. I found out about Dragon Ball in 2020 when a game came out Dragon Ball Z Kakarot, then I watched the whole series.
It just occurred to me: One if the themes of GT was the overuse of the DragonBalls and the consequences of that. ...only for Goku Jr to do the same thing decades later. Just an observation
I loved that ending moment in GT when Jr. VS Jr in the tournament. I admit I teared up a bit knowing the past history of their ancestors and how it was continuing still. I always wanted to see a continuation of that part of the story on what happens after the tournament.
Dragonball GT will forever be my favorite in the series, even though its not cannon I still see it as a proper conclusion to DB. Even at the end with the small goku jr portion I felt like i was watching the original dragonball again because of the adventure element. This is the series we need. And that movie was one of the best up there with bardock father of Goku
What’s the movie called
@@KM-gt3kc dragon ball gt: A hero legacy
Wait I didn't know goku Jr had actual episodes
It was 1 special
Vegeta Jr: "I'm getting the overwhelming urge to call you 'Kakarot', but I just can't figure out why..."
This is hilarious! The cinematography, acting, the writing and music choices are A1. You’ve got gold brodie, keep it up!
Does Goku Jr have more potential than his predecessors or no? Cause I know a half Saiyan/Earthling has more potential than a full Saiyan, however does that apply to future generations or does the potential die down as the Saiyan blood diminishes?
It doesn’t matter because he’s non cannon.
He’s not even that distant of a relative. He’s Goku’s great great grandson.
Hes just a genuine soft heart it seems. I remember catching this on some random channel many years back when i was kid and being so confused
I loved that scene of Goku jr and Vegeta Jr doing the double face punch at the same time haha
Love how he got a headband like his great-grandfather Bardock
Goku Jr is good potential for the story of the next generation, instead of milking Goku every decade
Same. The ending just made me feel like a really old friend just died and I'm just now sitting here being lonely and recalling all the memories.
A movie that went back to the classics, and Goku Jr even honors bardock with the bandana!
It's low-key, a "feel good" Dragonball film, and that's also why I love GT 'till this day
It just occurred to me: One if the themes of GT was the overuse of the DragonBalls and the consequences of that.
...only for Goku Jr to do the same thing decades later. Just an observation
I loved that ending moment in GT when Jr. VS Jr in the tournament.
I admit I teared up a bit knowing the past history of their ancestors and how it was continuing still. I always wanted to see a continuation of that part of the story on what happens after the tournament.
When the beef is so strong it goes down blood lines
Rest in peace Toriyama! We loved every bit of your work.
Literally such a fuckin good movie it wraps up GT so well too
I'm glad RUclips recommended me this :)
TFS not putting this on the DBcember list was wild
This flick was better than the whole of Super
I honestly find it hard to believe that goku jr and vegeta jr never even heard of each other before the tournament
This movie made me feel the vibes of the original dragon ball
This is actually really good it's like the power scale is back to normal
Rip Akira Toriyama 🙏🏻
DragonBall Universe = Goku’s entire extended family tree.
Honestly one of the few things I actually liked from GT
Hell Yeah! I had this story on a magazine. I found it to be very emotional
It made no sense that vegeta died from old age. I remember vegeta saying that the saiyan race ages slowly.
goku and vegettas' rivalry runs so deep, that shit is _genetic_
Dragonball GT will forever be my favorite in the series, even though its not cannon I still see it as a proper conclusion to DB. It brought back so many components in the old series like the tail with alongside with one of the best and creative transformation i’ve ever seen, also one of my favorite transformations. Even at the end with the small goku jr portion I felt like i was watching the original dragonball again because of the adventure element. The story in general was just amazing and I liked all the sagas, it was so much like DBZ and was a worthy ending.
Vegeta jr is hilarious to hear when you know about the vegeta lineage
