Also with that big dragon you can kinda farm him. Let me explain while on horse back go near hist tail and get an angle to where both of your light attacks hit. Once you see him jolt when he dies book it to the site of grace and rest. He will be at full health and you will get 60k-ish runes everytime. It's a glitch but you can do that if you want to.
As an added tip, he recommends going through a large part of Caria Manor early game to to get the Carian Grandeur ash of war. This is still good but there is a also a caravan south of Master Iji and shortly north of where the Jellyfish Shield is located that holds a chest with the Carian Knights Sword. This sword has the Carian Grandeur ash of war already on the weapon by default so you don't have to go through the trouble of doing the Manor at low level. It is an easier way to get the ash of war, you'd just have to be using Carian Knights Sword instead and use somber smithing stones for the upgrades. Though it is still good to try and get the Carian Grandeur ash of war when ever you can.
@sam Yeh it does, that's why it better and easier to obtain as an early game weapon. Carian Grandeur still does more than enough damage and will still do better putting points into intelligence rather than relying on the weapon scaling.
@@AKen_Films tbh it's harder to fight off that caravan to gain access to the chest than it is to just sprint through the Manor cuz you're not fighting anyone in the manor. Speaking of course for people who've at least played through the Manor once already and is somewhat familiar with it's layout and bonfire locations. Carian Knight's sword is good if people want that Ash of War a little bit early who haven't played through the Manor yet. But where we differ is I wouldn't even sink Somber Smithing stones into it. haha
@@BrokenGlassesGaming Yeh fair enough about using somber smithing upgrades. The Carian Knight's Sword scaling is crap and I would argue you don't need to upgrade since the Carian Grandeur ash of war is still powerful without upgrades on any weapon. Nizar CG already makes a point about this in the video above. I will point out though you don't actually have to fight off the caravan to get the Carian Knights Sword. As long as you hit the two giants pulling the cart and they come to kneeling position thus stoping the cart (you do not need to kill them) then you can just run to the back of the cart and open the chest to get the sword and run away. It's not that hard as long as your fast. Lastly I'll point out with Carian Grandeur ash of war, you can still buff the damage with points in intelligence, talismans and magic cracked tear in wondrous physick. You still don't have to worry about upgrading another base weapon even when you get the Carian Grandeur ash of war since the damaged won't be buffed as much regardless if you're using a weapon with good scaling.
For the Carian of Grandeur, there is an even easier path. When you come out of the door from the Manor Upper Level run straight and there is a cliff you can parkour down all the way on the right side(carefully). Run past the pots and jump down the next cliff to the west and continue to the edge shown at 22:56, it is very close.

If you want a talisman that reduces FP cost for skills by 15 percent you can get it at the very beginning of the game too if you look up a video for kale & blaids quest. It’s as simple as going to the woods and hearing a howl then going to kale to get the finger snap emote

TO EVERYONE COMPLAINING ABOUT CARIAN GRANDEUR DOING DISAPPOINTING DAMAGE: make sure to get the uchigatana upgraded to +14 or +15. An uncharged grandeur from a slightly upgraded uchi will usually one shot the mining dudes so its very easy to farm. I was underwhelmed by my damage until I took the time to get to +15, which is very easy to do.
I just started this build tonight and I’m absolutely loving it!! I’ve played through a couple times but i had never used carian grandeur and it fucking slaps!
Thanks brotha, all i need to do now is upgrade my weapon to do massive damage. So far, its a fun build to play with. I defeated the first boss, without the help of my wolves.
He didn’t say it in the video but you need to upgrade the weapon with Darien granduer on it to +16 to get the results in the video trust me I thought set up was done and I went to fight tree sentinel with a base uchigatana and it only does like 120 damage so please upgrade your weapon before getting mad
Some other things worth mentioning: The glintstone pebble ash of war gives carian grandeur a run for its money. Carian grandeur definitely wins out in damage when fully charged, but glintstone pebble can still hit for thousands of damage per cast and has good range, a lower fp cost, and a substantially faster casting speed. I found it best to use glintstone pebble while exploring or clearing through areas, then switch back to carian grandeur for the boss fight. I assume you may cover this in your late game update for the build, but the terra magica spell is on the way to caria manor and is a huge power spike, since it actually buffs not just spells, but all magic damage, including ashes of war and even magic damage on your weapon. Ps. Am i crazy for thinking moonveil is kind of overrated? Like seriously, why would i use moonveil when there are multiple normal ashes of war that do triple (or more) damage and cost less fp. Hell, the wing of astel basically gets to use transient moonlight for free 🤡
Moonveil is good because it has it all, high stance break, low FP cost and high damage. Sure you can have higher damage, and lower FP cost. But Transient Moonlight is still really op. Also after some testing, and doing the math, against one of the giants, Transient Moonlight does 81,85 damage per FP, Carian Grandeur does 65,46.
My thoughts exactly when I first picked it up. I had COVID the week elden ring released so I played for 100 hours practically without stopping. I got moonveil and lvled up to +6 or 7 and was unimpressed with the damage and put it away. Was surprised when it blew up as much as it did.

My go at making a Dex int build "Ranni Dark Moon Assassin" Rh Cold Nagakiba bloodhound step Carian staff no skill (casting Spells riding torrent) Lh cold Nagakiba AOW? Carian staff spin aow Nagakiba swords in power stance proc bleed and cold much faster than double Uchigatana . They scale slightly less in strength but maintain a B scaling in dex with 115 frost x2 and bleed 38x2. Bloodhound step gives insane evasion and your damage is already fantastic drawing on 3 types to boot. Talismans Magic scorpion, Lord of blood, claw and rotten wing You are directly buffing your cold AND Spells with MS, two for one. +20% attack power as a soon as anything ruptures near you from LOB. Your Nagakibas are so effective that you'll get bleed in power stance mostly on your first L1 double attack to get LOB buff. Claw Talisman + Raptor cloak = +25% jump attack damage. R1+jump attacks now break all guards on shields quickly. Power stancing + rotten wing for multiple hits on combo increasing attack damage. Rotten wing has a cap after 4 strikes @13%. So two L1 power stance attacks has you straight there. Armor Iron kasa, Raptor cloak, black knife gauntlets and greaves Best authenticity for the title. The iron kasa is the closest to a masculine counter aesthetic to Rannis hat. Plus a ronin is a samurai without a master which you are masterless in the game until choosing the Ranni ending. Ranni also created black knives so it was this or Blaidd's. Summons Mimic + Night maiden/swordstress The mimic also helps build rupture and frost on the boss faster. The other summons is for authenticity and variety. Spells Ranni dark moon, night comet, carian retaliation, adula moonblade, freezing mist, zamor ice storm. These all help with guerilla tactics, mobs and npc's with high magic damage vulnerability. But otherwise it's a shadow stepping frost/bleed build with a very light fp usage until you use spells as an insurance policy. Plus the more skilled you are the better this build becomes.
Man, Ive watched all your builds and Id be remiss not to mention this, for characters with the stats (majority except the wretch and prophet I think with radagon's soreseal), the flail you get from Gatefront makes Greyoll easier to kill. Also, there's a gold pickle fowl foot next to where you meet Varre. Just need to jump down the wind thing.
@@janebtar2167 cause the flail is a minute from where you pickup your horse and the katana is miles away. Also you can just hold L2 to kill Greyoll and not have to get arthritis.
@@janebtar2167 yeah but still. It’s 2 seconds from your route and you just hve to press and hold L2 to proc bleed instead of multiple R1s. This works even when you run out of FP BTW (you do have to pause to wait for stamina to recover but still better than spamming R1). Its a small QOL thing I do i every build.
I really enjoy your build vids. 1 thing i highly recommend if you have mates that play this game go into each others game and double down on that dragon exp. Its so much nicer starting the game with 200k runes!
I just subbed. I am still going through my first playthrough and learning all the different tools for builds and found this. I can't wait to enjoy more fun options. This game has so many options. Though I hate PvP.
I'm loving carian grandeur on fast bleed weapons. I did some testing and it seems that the scavenger's curved sword is outdamaging the uchigatana on the trolls near the war master's shack. That combined with a faster regular moveset might mean it is a better fit and also obtainable very early. Hope this helps someone.
I was looking for a recent comment in hopes of a response; I feel like Carian Grandeur doesn't do as much damage as shown in the video. Where there recent nerfs to it that I don't know about? I did just about everything in the video other than upgrade the sword much, but even then, at an even higher level, I still do less damage than shown in the video. He specifically says that the Uchigatana is in it's base level when he was fighting some of those bosses but I see much less damage.
I'm going to assume this build got nerfed to the ground at some point because I followed it exactly plus a little extra (memory charms), and that AoW on the Uchigatana is doing a THIRD of what he shows. And that's only if it's fully powered. Same gear, same level, same stats, same bosses. While it still hits for a decent chunk of damage, it is *nowhere* near as powerful as this video shows. Not unless there's some hidden secret I missed.
@@barachiel212 let me check on my end, I started a new dex int char yesterday not using the uchi though but I can still use one. Ill level it up to 15 and see. Got both Magic Crack and int tear in your flask right? I remember my problem was being actually able to get a chance to 3rd tier Granduer an enemy, not so much the dmg. Ill check when I get home from tgiving dinner at the fams.
Okay so got a +12 Uchi. Did 1629 to a Troll near warmasters shack. I have the Magic Cracked Tear and Int Tear in my flask. I have 28 base Int, so 38 with the flask, and 19 dex with the soreseal on, so Id say its about the same damage he was doing.
Great build ive also found a great combo of a poison frost and bleed build. I have 1 uchigatana with poison and bleed and the other frost and bleed with the carian pheilx blade on it and im melting bosses power stance getting poison and frost build up so quick.
Wow... I didn't know Carian Granuer was THAT powerful :O ((Currently using a Rapier with the Glintblade Phalanx ash of war from Rogier's rapier[standard affinity] + Bloodflame Blade for magic/fire/bleed/stance damage, then crit)) but I'm tempted to change it up now..

I just started playing elden ring last week. I found the meteorite staff by accident but didnt know about rock sling lol!. I pick prisoner because i thought he looked like Griffith from berserk. So far great game i have no clue what im doin
I took this build to the next level at 150. Moonveil and nagakiba for that added range, then use the bolt of gransax as a right hand alternative for ranged DPS to start off boss fights. So much fun
Hi and thanks for your content, your videos are amazing. Do you have any advice on how to increase stats while we wait for the 2nd part please. Keep the great work ! Oh and do you stream lives somewhere please ?
thanks! I would focus heavily on intelligence till you get 50 at least. After that the softcap starts kicking in and you'll want to start working on dexterity. I would gradually raise vigor and mind at the same on the side also, and raise them accordingly to your needs. I will release the second part this weekend so stay tuned :)
I’ve rewatched this 7 times trying to see what I’ve missed because i ain’t doing the same amount of damage. I’ve also been looking for the stats for after greyolls runes
A wonderful video and a strong building guide, but unfortunately I noticed that you did not specify the location of the place with a map and you skipped it in some necessary tools. Thank you very much. I started to add some magic to my samurai character.
it's amazing as well to use as your main weapon (I went over it in my samurai video) but for Carian Grandeur it doesn't matter. You could even use a dagger and it will still have the same range lol
If you go to the trouble of getting your uchi to +15 or +16 (which isn't hard) then this thing does some incredible damage. I'm running a variation of this rn alongside my full faith pyro guy.
You brought me back to ER after a couple of months break Nizar! Question, when you do these new play throughs, are there any particular quests or storylines you follow? Or do you just do the main bosses?
Damn insane video would love to switch to that one i started with the blood Katana build with nagakiba and yeah im lvl 50 now so probably too late to switch now :( but great video
First video of yours I found, i naturally found myself playing this way except i abuse bloodhound step instead of glinblades lol. You earned my sub I'll probably add some of these steps into my jesus samurai lol
This and the part 2 of this build made me yeet my Arcane build that I have been running since the release of the game. This is sooooo muuuuuch more fun and effective.
Prisoner was my first class cus the helmet was wonky. I didn’t realize how good of a class it was. The glintblade carried me to mid game and rock sling cheezed area bosses I wasn’t close to strong enough to beat😂
For some reason the Moonveil AoW is doing more damage than the triple charge carian grandeur. I have 40 int and a like 30 dex. but I don't understand. Their stats are both basically equal, upgrade wise.

Nagakiba swords in power stance proc bleed and cold much faster than double Uchigatana . They scale slightly less in strength but maintain a B scaling in dex with 115 frost x2 and bleed 38x2. Bloodhound step gives insane evasion and your damage is already fantastic drawing on 3 types to boot.
Talismans
Magic scorpion, Lord of blood, claw and rotten wing
You are directly buffing your cold AND Spells with MS, two for one.
Armor
Iron kasa, Raptor cloak, black knife gauntlets and greaves
Best authenticity for the title. The iron kasa is the closest to a masculine counter aesthetic to Rannis hat. Plus a ronin is a samurai without a master which you are masterless in the game until choosing the Ranni ending. Ranni also created black knives so it was this or Blaidd's.
Summons
Mimic + Night maiden/swordstress
The mimic also helps build rupture and frost on the boss faster. The other summons is for authenticity and variety.
Spells
Ranni dark moon, night comet, carian retaliation, adula moonblade, freezing mist, zamor ice storm.
These all help with guerilla tactics, mobs and npc's with high magic damage vulnerability. But otherwise it's a shadow stepping frost/bleed build with a very light fp usage until you use spells as an insurance policy. Plus the more skilled you are the better this build becomes.
Thanks!
Finaly a new good int/dex build. I always love your videos
The uchigatana also has bleed so why bother picking up the flail for this build
@@janebtar2167 cause the flail is a minute from where you pickup your horse and the katana is miles away. Also you can just hold L2 to kill Greyoll and not have to get arthritis.
@@MrAikavari I see that but the uchigatana is needed for this build anyway so you could just safe that one extra step
Its so much nicer starting the game with 200k runes!
love your guides man, this one is helping me so much.
Dude your channel needs more traction leaving to come in for the algorithm much love keep it up
Through yt or ?
Thank you for this, can't wait for part 2!
Your videos are so fun - keep them coming also with the DLC
He specifically says that the Uchigatana is in it's base level when he was fighting some of those bosses but I see much less damage.
bro your builds are insane man ... love this, keep it up man!
Holy sht, dude....this guide is way out-leveled of a brand new player and character...lol...ive been spending all day following it, and its' brutal.
Awesome guide, subscribed.
Is your uchi upgraded?
@@VicariousLie Yup. Did the smithing stone farm, as directed. +15.
I absolutely love your video!!!
Very big support as I just started Elden ring, however try giving more detail.
Keep up the good work!
Great build ive also found a great combo of a poison frost and bleed build. I have 1 uchigatana with poison and bleed and the other frost and bleed with the carian pheilx blade on it and im melting bosses power stance getting poison and frost build up so quick.
whats your stats
YESSSS THANK YOU!
just started getting into the game and this was a build i wanted to try and i saw this video and couldnt be happier thank you my lord
Another great build, ty
Best build channel by far
Man you’re actually really good
I love your builds man keep up the good work
I just wanna say that nizar said its early game build, i just soloed malenia with this build using the moonveil so its early/late game build. Ty nizar for your efforts
I just started playing elden ring last week. I found the meteorite staff by accident but didnt know about rock sling lol!. I pick prisoner because i thought he looked like Griffith from berserk. So far great game i have no clue what im doin
Old video at this point, but thanks homie! I'm about to start Elden Ring on PC, and this is basically the build I was hoping was possible haha.
Is the build still strong with the recent patch? Could you also let me know if the carian grandeur ash of war is still strong? Thanks
Started playing today and landed on this video. Will give it a shot
definitely gonna try it
I took this build to the next level at 150. Moonveil and nagakiba for that added range, then use the bolt of gransax as a right hand alternative for ranged DPS to start off boss fights. So much fun
I was wondering why he went with uchi instead of naga, but I guess you have to do more to obtain it not just run up and grab it.
@@NizarGG thanks ! I will ! 😄😄
I just got my strength build from one of your videos to the Capital but I'm highly tempted to make this build now and start fresh.🤣
Pretty dope build as usual!
Lol I was just playing a spell blade build, I’m on Maliketh rn, Havent tried him yet, so I can’t wait for part two
I’ve rewatched this 7 times trying to see what I’ve missed because i ain’t doing the same amount of damage. I’ve also been looking for the stats for after greyolls runes
Same lmao
Upgrade your uchigatanas
@@ohhhyeah3794 Yeah i noticed a huge difference when i swapped my uchigatana for a +8 nagakiba lol
@@trashpanda6441 upgrades does huge difference
I said the same thing. When he went to the evergaol he hadn't upgraded the uchi yet and was dealing way more damage than me
I don’t think you have to go through all that in the deathtouched catacombs I just go in go down the side path and it’s right there
A wonderful video and a strong building guide, but unfortunately I noticed that you did not specify the location of the place with a map and you skipped it in some necessary tools. Thank you very much. I started to add some magic to my samurai character.
What are your thoughts of using Nagakiba instead of the Uchikatana for a little more range? Would this change the output of Carian Grandeur?
it's amazing as well to use as your main weapon (I went over it in my samurai video) but for Carian Grandeur it doesn't matter. You could even use a dagger and it will still have the same range lol
Made a few of Nizar's builds and I must say I had the most fun with this one! 🙂
If you go to the trouble of getting your uchi to +15 or +16 (which isn't hard) then this thing does some incredible damage. I'm running a variation of this rn alongside my full faith pyro guy.
You don’t have to pull the lever to get to the uchikatan the corridor is already open 😂
You brought me back to ER after a couple of months break Nizar! Question, when you do these new play throughs, are there any particular quests or storylines you follow? Or do you just do the main bosses?
it would have been nice to see a screen shot of the full build , .....
hey my guy awesome vid! i’ve not played ER in a few months so not kept up with any patches, is this build/spells still as good as they are here ?
Damn insane video would love to switch to that one i started with the blood Katana build with nagakiba and yeah im lvl 50 now so probably too late to switch now :( but great video
First video of yours I found, i naturally found myself playing this way except i abuse bloodhound step instead of glinblades lol.
You earned my sub I'll probably add some of these steps into my jesus samurai lol
This and the part 2 of this build made me yeet my Arcane build that I have been running since the release of the game. This is sooooo muuuuuch more fun and effective.
Great guide! Would a nagakiba be okay in place of an uchigatana?
I think it would be okay
Prisoner was my first class cus the helmet was wonky. I didn’t realize how good of a class it was. The glintblade carried me to mid game and rock sling cheezed area bosses I wasn’t close to strong enough to beat😂
This build is still a beast in patch 1.10
hey is your carian grandeur still doing a lot of damage?
The zoom as he fell off the cliff was great 😂
Im gonna have to try this. I already had some of the stuff to start the build
What stats should we aim for at levels 50, 75 and 100?
For some reason the Moonveil AoW is doing more damage than the triple charge carian grandeur. I have 40 int and a like 30 dex. but I don't understand. Their stats are both basically equal, upgrade wise.
I'm in the same boat - the damage shown for these spells and abilities simply doesn't line up with what I see in game, not even close.
yeah me too my carian grandeur is doing 400 damage
Then you found out for yourself this is a clickbait all hype no substance channel
You make the best builds bro
Great explanation, again. Now wondering if I should do a fourth playthrough....
YES. you know what they say, the more playthroughs the better
You should do chapters for every video, it helps so much for me and others probably too
I havent played elden ring yet, im definitely doing this build
It's finally here!
Are you Linus tech tips?
@@phillipmbise23 No
I don't know if I am doing something wrong
But it seems Carian Graunder range is almost point blank
At level 2 a spear has longer range
I love Int/Dex builds.
