i think the drum and guitar parts along with the reserved, electronic piano-like notes signify how the US and other governments felt between Menendez’s attacks and the beginning, being more reserved, was like when the government didn’t know he existed, and gets louder, and LOUDER, THEN…. he goes into hiding again till’ 2025 when he pops back up, and it’s like treyarch could capture the essence of the campaign with just one song
The fact that we're ALREADY nearing the 10th Year anniversary of this game is just unbelieveable to me. It only felt like yesterday I was a little 12 year old kid gushing over the multiplayer and zombies and spending countless hours playing said modes together with my brother and uncle. This was my first cod game and ever since then I've been playing cod and feeling what most people feel nowadays, disappointment. This game was a safe place for me and it truly was something worth being alive for. I know i make a "shoot the bad guys" type of game seem wayyyy more important than what it actually is, but that's because it was important to me. Playing with my friends until it was time to go to school and coming right back to the game afterwards. I was playing this in 2017 and I was amazed from this game looking at this plot and this whole war of drones and now it is 2025 and I am in a real war and here is a real war of drones I never thought that this could happen in real life
hearing this again brought me to tears, mason, woods, David, Harper, Menendez, etc were all great characters of their time, the story was great, multiplayer was great, zombies as well, the game was the peak of call of duty I'd say
I remember playing this being my first cod game. I was 4 and didn't know what was really happening, all I knew was loud noises and flashing colors, and I found it fun. One day (probably around 5) I thought "Hey, I only get to play this game at my grandma's, but since I'm a bit older and I have Ghost's at home, maybe I can bring this to my house so I can play it there!". So I take the game and once I get to my house, I lost it. I remember trying to find it for the next few days, and being disappointed when I couldn't find it. I'm now even more disappointed now that I know just how much I missed out on. To this day, I have not gotten a chance to play bo2 again. (Update) I just managed to pick up the game at a game stop for 20$! Albiet, its the Wii U version, meaning no dlc and i have to play multi with bots, but at least i can experience the campaign
currently taking a shit while listening to this ! takes me to memorie lane when I was only a kid, those days were the best times for 1v1ing all the kids at your school going outside and playing
For some reason, this main theme reminds me of Death Note, and I think it has to do with the minor keys and instrumentations. If anyone can come up with a more concrete answer to me, I appreciate it. Either way, this theme has always stuck with me after beating the game when I was but a young lad. EDIT: 3:20: Woah, this is an amazing moment for the soundtrack because I was not expecting such an advanced soundtrack for the OST to work with here, in the MAIN THEME! Notice how the spacing of the notes sound nothing like what you may be used to in movies or games. This is because it works off the whole-tone scale, going downwards, which is simply an amazing choice because it evokes, in my opinion, hopelessness. The whole-tone, sounding nothing like either a major or minor scale, is what adds to the uncomfortable nature of the piece at this moment. Dang, now I want to do a full-on analysis!
I played this game last time in 2017 and now 6 years after i found this video and started crying from nostalgia i remeber all those nights with the boys
Nostalgic game and a great story and villain There should be a sequel to know what happens after the good ending Alex and David together with Woods and the bad ending Raul wins by dying And also the worst ending of all when Raul kills himself A pity that we will never see these sequels, nostalgia for 2014 was the year I met this beautiful game 🥲😔 like and Bye!
Bro this music makes me cry from the levels of nostalgia i feel for the old call of duty and black ops,i played this when i was four years old,but like now i feel like the newer cods are so...bad,but yea this reminds me of what could happen in the futrue, and stuff that happend in the past,bo2 will always have a spot in my hart
I played on every call of duty from World at War to BO3. I spent many, many hours on each one, alone or with my friends, but this one was the one I spent most of time on. I've done the campaign a thousand times, and never felt tired of it. This game was a real era for me and my friends...
Due to how things are in the world at the time of me writing this, this soundtrack has gone from giving me inoffensive nostalgia to real palpable dread

0:58 this should be the call of duty mobile matchmaking theme
now im no expert on call of duty but this sounds amazing
Modern warfare 2 was the beginning of a golden age , and this game was its peak.
mw2 was peak. black ops 2 was the last good times before bo3 which started the decline but still had good zombies. bo4 was the end
Best Call Of Duty Golden of Year 2012.
This is the theme song of all of our childhoods
This makes me just want to play this again.
Perhaps the best soundtrack in a COD game ever
It’s a song that sounds like it has all the emotions of Sadness, Grief and Anger all in one
Basically black ops 2 campaign.
miss this game so much
just typed this in 2025 and now we’re here.
(Update)
I just managed to pick up the game at a game stop for 20$!
This theme gives me more punisher vibes.
Here we go bois
here we go
I recently played the campaign and now i know why gamers call it the best in the series because it went above and Beyond
The Call Of Duty
A shiver of goodness goes down my spinne when i hear this. love this music
Thank you for everything treyarch
We made it boys.
Turning on the Ps3 and listening to this Song bro, what a memories on 2012
This gives me chills to think BO2 will be 10 later this year…
I played this game last time in 2017 and now 6 years after i found this video and started crying from nostalgia i remeber all those nights with the boys
We all need to collectively play this in the final hours of 2024 and the beginning of 2025.
I played on every call of duty from World at War to BO3. I spent many, many hours on each one, alone or with my friends, but this one was the one I spent most of time on. I've done the campaign a thousand times, and never felt tired of it. This game was a real era for me and my friends...
Best Call of Duty. One of the best shooter.
cant go wrong wake up playing bo2 with the boys that will never talk to again there still think about sometimes cant forget the good momment in gaming
It’s all good boyz stay here as long as you need to, we get it
Due to how things are in the world at the time of me writing this, this soundtrack has gone from giving me inoffensive nostalgia to real palpable dread
Jesus men 10 years… How time really flies by 😢
