Final Fantasy 2, 3 and 5 were never localised for the NA. So when 4 came out they released it as Final Fantasy 2, and when 6 was localised they released it as Final Fantasy 3. Any rereleases, remakes or remasters will use the correct name, so this only applies to the original SNES games.
