The sauna protocols he describes are designed from the findings and research from peer-reviewed studies conducted by Dr. Marc Cohen and his Ph.D. colleagues on longevity, the quality of life, and much more.

    Thoroughly enjoyed this presentation. Solidified the efficacy of some of the practices I have cobbled together as I’ve explored improving my health. Sauna, taking an ice shower and Wim Hof breathing every day and repeat has evolved into my routine. While sitting outside in the cold in my shorts I’ve wanted to add some additional cold. One great idea from Dr. Cohen was to immerse my feet in cold water while I’m sitting outside in my shorts to increase my cold exposure. My condo deck can’t safely support the weight of a full cold tank, but an ice chest with even ambient temp water could help. I then take a second shorter sauna session to heat back up and then straight into the ice shower, which gives me a 110degree F temp swing in a few seconds.

    Very informative. I love the sauna from the first time I found them. Dry, steam whatever but I prefer a dry sauna. And the cold plunge is a must. Didn't really like it at first but doesn't take long at all to absolutely love it. Keep the information coming although you seemed to cover probably most of it there.
    I just like them any health benefits are just a bonus.

      Thank you Daniel for your support! Couldn't agree more, the cold plunge is a difficult habit to create but sooo worth it once you get passed that initial hump. All the best!

      Cold showers or dip in the pool and hot helps

    • @TheHelsiShow
      @TheHelsiShow  2 года назад +1

      Hi John, yes this will help a lot. The heat therapy will help with promoting the repair process and with the boost of infrared wavelengths will promote ATP production, the cold will then help with the soreness and will flush the waste materials built up from your workout throughout your lymphatic system!

    I understand his point of view regarding the sauna. But, cold therapy is something completely different than what he is describing. He is either not familiar with cold therapy or it’s benefits, or he is explicitly talking about some other thing that is specifically sauna related.

    • @TheHelsiShow
      @TheHelsiShow  2 года назад

      Hi Roy, thanks for your comment. Yes he's talking specifically about sauna, and not just infrared or traditional, but sauna as a culture. This includes incorporating cold into the practice. You are correct still, that cold therapy is different, and cold therapy as a terminology for different iterations of cold applications, is similar as the term heat therapy is used. But in this instance, he is talking about sauna culture that incorporates a cold plunge etc. He's also one of the leading researchers in this field of sauna!

I had hypertensive blood pressure then, now its it at a really good level. im sure this is from the sauna. Since 2017 i have been having a sauna every 2nd day!

    • @TheHelsiShow
      @TheHelsiShow  2 года назад

      Hi, @@jeremyalexander3505 great to have a new sauna user on the channel! To be honest, we are biased toward infrared saunas. Infrared, especially high-quality infrared saunas such as Clearlight Saunas because the additional health benefits provided from far-infrared and full spectrum infrared wavelengths far outway traditional saunas and steam rooms. Infrared is basically all of the same benefits plus more. They are also really efficient, look great, and are cheap to run. In saying that, even traditional saunas are good for your health. Either is better than none! Hope that helps

    Is binders taking necessary? As I saw other videos saying to so. I feel slight brain fog and little dizzy when done after 15min. Just started using about a few weeks

    • @TheHelsiShow
      @TheHelsiShow  2 года назад

      Hi Phillip, thank you for your question! They are definitely not necessary, your body has natural detoxification pathways that rid the toxins when in the bloodstream. If you have higher levels though, binders could speed up the overall detoxification process. Like always, detox is only half of the picture, and reducing intake of toxins is just as important! Sorry for the late reply, I hope that helps?
