I agree, since the update and also since purchasing a 4090 I run almost everything at 37ppd and a handful at 39ppd. It's amazing to be able to read and see details that I never noticed before the upgrade.
Thank you Mark, another great video! I was going to ask you to share the tracker mount but I've seen you've already shared it and the link is in the description! Thanks!
I changed my design so that the tracker is now through bolted with a Sorbothane disk on both sides. Sorbothane is a great vibration dampening material. I think I'm using 30 durometer disks right now.
Love my Aero in DCS (I agree, 39ppd is incredible), but I have a weird login issue that no one seems to have an answer for. Whenever I boot my PC, I have to login to Varjo Base. Login fails with "too many logins" error, which tells me to click on the website and log into my account. Once there, I have to click "log out of all other sessions" (or something like that). Once I do that, I'm allowed to login to Varjo Base and use my $2000 HMD!!! 😡 What a real friggin PITA! Any ideas? Thanks
Clear cache problem maybe? Google this for more detailed explanation, but be warned, clearing C: 'TEMP' and '%TEMP%' will delete any saved passwords and logins to websites and applications.
@@markkovalcson7243 Ok, thanks. I'll keep investigating. The fact that we're forced to login at all, even once (let alone what I'm going through) to use something that we've purchased is extremely annoying! Shouldn't be allowed by law IMO. I rebuilt my PC a few months ago (new MB, CPU, M.2, GPU, etc) and I'm wondering if the issue is somehow linked to the fact that new hardware is detected?
@@redtailpilot They are not alone. My SimCommander software controlling my G-Belt logs in and has cloud profiles for different tracks and cars. My D-Box Core Motion software logs in. My SimuCube TrueDrive software needs to log in for the cloud profiles and I think requires logging in at least once, but then can run in offline mode. I'm not saying it's right, but it is a common theme these days. At least it's not like what Meta originally wanted to do requiring both logging and a link to FB. Once again sorry for your issues.
@@markkovalcson7243 yeah I guess you have a point. I have a few things that has a login requirement as well. This issue I'm having with the Aero is unique. The only one that takes me through this annoying dance everytime I want to use it. Thanks again for your reply
Question for you do you think vr is at a point to replace the monitor for most games (even for non-vr)? I'm planning my simpit build and would like to use it for other games besides flight-sims. Not starting this until end of 2024 so there's plenty of time for tech to mature I'm hoping.
That is a very user specific question. I've seen people adopt VR and love it and I've seen people use VR for a while and get fed up with it for one reason or another. Use cases change. Some people get fatigued while playing sims in VR headsets and then there are people who spend 12 hours a day in VRChat. So much of this depends on you. I've never tried playing 2D games in VR, so I can't speak to that. I'd recommend finding people who play 2D games in VR to get their opinion. In the sim community there is a 2D game called Wreckfest that I've heard some people talk about playing on a virtual screen in VR. I honestly have no idea what will be here by the end of 2024.
@markkovalcson7243 thanks for the response! That makes sense. Just starting my research into vr so I need to figure out my use case still it seems. Thanks again!
Having to buy a 4090 on top of it's already hefty price tag... also just to make this thing work well... is a really... tough... sell. Considering in a few years, these things are going to be dirt cheap. If it gave me some kind of competitive edge, then.. maybe... but I'm just not seeing it.
VR is an never ending quest with huge insert money here slots everywhere. If you are not impatient, it is always better to wait. Eventually Meta or Pico will have something affordable. However the enthusiast market seems to be getting more and more expensive rather than cheaper. I don't think anyone is happy about it, but it's what we are seeing.
@@markkovalcson7243 that's crazy you couldn't get 35ppd with a 4090 I've the 3080 with the aero seems to run most of the apps around 35 mind you bigscreen won't even run for me on the lowest setting
@@johngogan1115 For titles like Half Life Alyx that are highly efficient or that don't create a huge VR load, you are absolutely correct that 35ppd is not a problem and never has been. I mentioned that I was running Half Life Alyx with all settings maxed out at 35ppd with no issues. For racing and flight simulations the VR load is much harder. DCS and MSFS are very hard titles to get good frame rates and while iRacing is highly efficient other racing titles like ACC are notoriously hard to run in VR. If you visit the Varjo discord channel, you will see the effort that people have been going through to try to get decent framerates at 35ppd in a number of sim titles. Even with 4090's that wasn't possible until recently.
Love the Varjo Aero, very happy with it for sim racing.

Quad lock makes a very nice motorcycle vibration mount for phones. I wonder if you can use that on the tracker to reduce those tracking errors.

I wish I could help! I've never experienced that issue. I logged in once when I first set up my Aero and I've never had to log in again.
