Quilt Cards & My First Quilt Ever - Log Cabin Style

- The very first quilt I ever made was this log cabin quilt back in 1973 - a gift for my boyfriend Tim, now my husband of 44 years. I took the colors from this quilt and made a card in the same style!
In this series - I am using special quilts as inspiration for making cards. Isn't it fun when cards can tell your story.
If you are a quilter - or if you know a quilter (as I'm sure you do!) - quilt cards make awesome gifts.

Your story is beautiful, Karen. In 1973, I knit a scarf for my boyfriend--and I baked a birthday cake--but he didn't turn out to be a "keeper." My hubby of 33 years stays too warm for scarves, and he doesn't like sweets. Isn't life strange? Anyway, I love these cards, and I want to make some. The new Perforating tool, if used very lightly, would make awesome "stitches."
Enjoyed your log cabin video

We still have a store in our little town, similar to the one you described. It use to have a toy dept upstairs also. That store was one of the very first stores in our town and its still in the being ran by the same family.

Ooooo.. This just gave me an idea..... I'm going to see if I can match papers to my mom's quilt she had in nursing homes.... Pretty cards huh
I hope you can do that!

Measuring is over-rated, or so I'm told. I would love to quilt, I have a pattern, material, all purchased 17 years ago. Where would I set up? My craft room is overflowing now! :)
I love your story, Kathi!!!! We never have enough space as crafters - lol!
