  • On 17 July 2024, PRME hosted the International Green Skills and Green Jobs for Youth Roundtable (see full agenda), an official side event of the 2024 United Nations High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) - the UN's main platform for the follow-up and review of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Organized by the Student Action Group (SAG) of the United Nations Higher Education Sustainability Initiative (HESI), which the PRME Global Students (PGS) is one of the founding organizations, the event united young people and high-level representatives from leading universities, major industry employers, and intergovernmental policymakers worldwide.
The hybrid event allowed for constructive third-part dialogue between the guest speakers, the 50+ attendees at the United Nations Global Compact Office in NYC, and dozens of virtual attendees from all corners of the world, thus fostering conversations for collaborative action and meaningful progress toward a shared vision for green skills and sustainability learning in higher education.
