    • ROBAR ft. Guillaume Bi...
    For more information regarding Robar, please read the video description for "Before & After" on my channel. Although technically a third session, since all three are singles I decided to omit the ordinal. Roman contacted me last July about this tune, sent me a demo with some great programmed drums and I 'did mah thang' on top. This one features Guillaume Bideau of Mnemic on vocals.
    I used my 12" rack tom and 18" K Custom Special Dry China on this session; this video marks the debut of the china, although I've recorded a TON of music with it at this juncture. For any further gear-related inquiries, please visit: www.travisorbin...

    Your independence is crazy good! I've been playing around and trying to get some right foot independence bouncing on the high-hat but my brain can't get away from the left foot independence I've trained it! Great playing as always!

    I recently bought some of the Hardimon sticks you use.. Whew, those things are no joke! That's coming from a faithful 2b user! You're badass Travis!!

      Travis Orbin if you don't mind a quick question, do you ever expirience hand pain mid-set? If so, how do you take care of that so you can finish without any problems? Thank you for your time.

    • @TravisOrbin
      @TravisOrbin  7 лет назад +2

      Never pain, but fatigue. I hit harder live (I strive for more consistency in the studio) and if my grip muscles are starting to feel it I'll revert to more of a 'caveman thing' until it passes.

    I'm a long time subscriber, and as always, you killed it man! The mix sounds awesome too! I'm curious, would you ever consider (if you have the authority to) posting the raw drum tracks? I imagine lots of other subscribers are curious to hear the drums pre-mixed and listen in to how each drum sounds. Again, great job! Cheers!

      I appreciate your kind words and interest, but no -- the stems are for the clients. They can do with them as they please, though.

    travis, i love your ambidextrous style of playing. im primarily a guitar/bass player but your videos have inspired me to work on my drumming. one question, have you ever used an off-set double bass pedal(or middle pedal)? and if so what did you think?

    • @TravisOrbin
      @TravisOrbin  7 лет назад +2

      Thanks a lot! Nope, never tried one. I just stick to my ol' faithful Demon Drives.

    Oh, I notice you're using the Vic Firth headphones in this. Switched from the EX-29s?

    • @TravisOrbin
      @TravisOrbin  7 лет назад +3

      Yep, the newer (they're not really 'new', but different than the previous models) ones are pretty comfy, and they're more durable than the EX-29s.

    • @taikonauta7698
      @taikonauta7698 7 лет назад +1

      Travis Orbin do they isolate better than the ex29?

    • @TravisOrbin
      @TravisOrbin  7 лет назад +1

      Not quite as well, they reduce noise levels by 24dB.

    grow your hair out again
    Become a Jason Mamoa look alike.

    • @Thortjoland

      Also question, do you usually mix the drums into the song? Or do you send the tracks in raw?

    • @TravisOrbin
      @TravisOrbin  7 лет назад +4

      Heh, the amount of 'Drogo' comparisons I accrued on tour was nearly disturbing. And I supply clients with both stereo/'wet' mixes and stems. For this session the stems were utilized and further mixed/augmented.

    • @Thortjoland
      @Thortjoland 7 лет назад

      Haha well, it's not too bad of a comparison. Especially with the muscle growth.
      Thanks for the answer man!
