The warning to not let the small cosmetic ruin your fun is such a good point. Last time this event ran, I got to 4W1L 4 times in a row, and I let it get me so irrationally angry. That's an 80% win rate! That could maybe be my best run of 20 games in pocket! Plenty of those games were so intense and rewarding! Not getting to enjoy that was an incredible self own.
Yea I find it funny on how different I feel with loses during the streak events vs regular games I usually don’t care but losing on 4W can be crushing I lost at 4W with pika to a marowak that hit double heads twice in a row and one tails on either attack would have won me the game it was crushing. I then took a couple minutes off and went back and won 5 with gyarados
On the flip side - I got this emblem first try thanks to my 3rd opponent flipping 2/8 Celebi heads. I got my shiny badge but doesn’t feel like I earned it 😅
Started this event and won my first 5/5 with a mirror match on 5th with this Lumineon deck. This deck is amazing and thanks for showcasing it in your previous video. You’re my favorite PTCGP creator!!
Have been really enjoying your videos on Pokemon Pocket, you're in your own tier of quality right now, in all aspects. As a father of a 2 year old toddler and with a new baby on the way, this video was very relatable for reasons not having to do with the game. The ruckus "behind" you (probably upstairs?) was so loud even your quality setup and man cave/office couldn't keep it out of the video. It's only a tough job being a father if you care about it, working from home or not, and kuddos to you from a fellow dad.
I just wanted to say you are by and far my favorite ptcgp RUclipsr. Thank you for all of your videos, but especially thank you for this one! I got to 3 wins and lost so many times this morning with a Gyrados deck. Switched it to a Charcanine as you suggested, got the win in less than 10 games. Thanks Jeff!
Shoutout to Jeff, one of the reasons to check daily yt notifs for. Salute on playing the Starmie Sniper deck, one which I personally enjoy as well albeit running singleton copy of MI vaporeon in my build
Just wanted to say thank you for posting the Wiggly-Eggs deck. It helped me get the 5 wins so fast that I was shocked! It is a deck that can really come back from the edge of defeat. Thank you for posting great content!
I managed to get to 4 wins through luck, but was stalling out trying to get to 5. Watched this, built the Pikachu deck, and immediately got a 5 win streak. Thanks so much!
Just drop by to drop a massive thank you. No, not for your recommended decks here, but for your absolutely cracked Blastoise 100 deck! Was so solid, I climbed 5 wins within 11 battles, thank you for making my fav pokemon so viable. Love the content btw, very informative and I appreciate you showcasing actual viable decks and variations rather than clickbaity gimmick decks. Keep up the great work! 💙
5:33 I don't usually leave comments, but this Wiggly-Eggs was the only deck out of all of these I was able to build and I got 5 consecutive wins first try! I would watch the video posted 1 day ago dedicated to the deck as well. This man is the TRUTH!!
Just earned my 5 win streak using the Wiggly Eggs deck! The best part was the final KO that won was my Crown Rare Mew taking out my opponent’s crown rare Charizard, pretty epic. Thanks for all the content and help!
I like this kind of event because I've found myself just card collectong for a while and not battling. I'm happy to have a go for the emblems and try something new for a bit of fun
Love playing Pikachu and haven't played much since last event and the Pikachu updated deck just got me my 5! The electubuzz/zapadash bench damage came in clutch great deck!
I've been really enjoying playing your Starmie-Lumineon deck the past few days and have probably a 70% winstreak with it. Looking forward to trying this deck out for the 5-win streak challenge soon! EDIT: got my 5-win streak within 10 games exclusively with this Starmie Lumineon deck!
I will say these events make me glad there's no ranked ladder, I feel like if i wanna have opinions on the game but don't have all the emblems from events that my thoughts don't count. That aside great video jeff love the content.
As someone who has all the emblems, they're more a case of hitting your head against the wall until you get them, than a matter of skill. Sure, good or lucky players will get them faster, but anyone who plays an hour or so a day while the emblem event is ongoing can get them easily.
So during the last 45 win event I went on an 11 game streak, followed by a 7 game streak on the first day using a Moltres Ex/Centiskorch, an inherently RNG deck. But Murphy’s law states Im gonna spend forever in the 3-4 streak limbo now that it matters XD
I just got the Emblem this time around, first try (again, I might add). This time I played the UR Pidgeot EX deck you talked about awhile back. Last streak event I played EX Zard with a single Cinderpede/Sizzlepede and double Red Card.
Got the emblem first try with Arcanine and Charizard EX. The deck is really solid, Arcanine destroys Celebi and pikachu, and i faced 2 of each. The only game i had to use charizard was against a Gyarados EX. Amazing video as always, i will definitely try the other decks now
I've been really enjoying your Lumineon deck! It's a harder deck to pilot like you said, but way more than other decks it feels like losses are very much on me, rather than on rng; it's so well balanced that I definitely feel like I brick less often with it than with other decks.
I used the Starmie Lumineon deck with the only variance being a 2nd Sabrina instead of Giovanni which did prove vital in some matches with Lumineon. Lost on the 5th game twice so stayed true to the 1/3 chance, unlike the first event which i luckily did first try. Thanks for the advice!
I got a 5 win streak with the Fighting Box (Hitmonlee/Farfetch'd/Marshadow) deck within my first 7 games...it's surprisingly good and has counterplay for all the most relevant decks in the format. Also highly suggest it for others who have not tried it out yet!
@@mi10ngaming16 I've been playing battles on the unranked ladder - seems like a good compromise between not stealing wins yet still making people earn the badge
@@Al-xe7su I generally found that one Tauros and mew were enough because usually you only have time to get 1 online, plus it increases the chance of getting one of the better starting cards up and running (farfetchd and hitmonlee)
Just went 5/5 to start the event with this Wiggly Eggs deck! Including a clutch wiggly sleep to beat the final Mewtwo opp. I finally got the non-ex egg to build this version and I'm loving it.
This is tough because every 35 + player is playing that on first day but i managed to win 3 games in a row. Now i will play it 3 days later. Hopefully then all pros will stop.
There is actually a good Reddit thread about that waiting will decrease Ur Chance of winning, because the Casual Player will loose Motivation and only try hards will be playing.
level doesn't really matter since you can level up by just opening packs, just grab one of the many recommended decks out there and you'll get the 5 winstreak eventually
That comment about winning only 1 out of 3 times was exactly the case for me😂 I lost on game 4 2 times to Celebi high rolls and Mewtwo Gardevoir on curve with my Pikachu ex decks. I got 5 in a row after I put Raichu in
Tried a few different options. Fire was doing ok, but definitely ran into some tough matchups (and poor coin flips). Pikachu was also doing ok, but unfortunately ran into a good chunk of fighting decks. Eventually rotated over to the Celibi deck and that did it. Exeggutor Ex is a beast in terms of walling off early. Even in games where I just couldn't get Serperior setup due to bad draws it didn't matter. That pair of Ex just got the job done.
No joke. Celebi was literally in all the games iv done. It made good use with the new ponita, and Rapidash in the Blane deck did prefect since everyone was investing in ti Celebi
I actually ran than Mewtwo deck and encountered the exact problem mentioned in this video-the Gyarados matchup is abysmal. Still, I went 15-4 to complete the event (peaking 8 winstreak), so, if you’re willing to gamble the odds to dodge the Gyarados matchup, it’s still a great meta deck.
I lost my first match, then went on to win 5 straight with Pikachu deck similar to Jeff's but I use Voltik and Galvantula instead of Dedenne and Electrabuzz. I won 2 of my games off of Galvantula carry when I didn't find Pikachu both those games, and one game off a Zapdos with 3 energy vs big enemies
I was trying out golem, 3 wins tops. Then, gyarados. 4 wins tops. After watching this video, I tried out the marshadow + hitmonlee + farfetche'd deck and immediately cleared. so elegant
I had good runs with the Arcanine Salandit build, 5 and 0 on 2 different accounts first try, for me and my wife. Not saying it's the best but it felt good into what I was seeing in the event matches
Really wanted to do this with the Aero/Farfetch'd fighting deck, but after a rocky start I swapped to Pika/Zebstrika and got it first try despite not seeing a single Gyarados. That deck always feels really good to me in random queue. The only common thing that gives it much trouble is Exeggcutor.
I’ve been running starmie lumineon for a while (without misty and Giovanni bc I have none lol) and I managed to beat the event!! I used mew ex instead which carried me through some of the games thankfully
1:40 I've done it with this one. Instead of buzz I Ran a second Zapdos for the tankiness and found that a second Gio is more useful than a second potion. Feels good to Smash garys with the zebra
From my experience, the huge majority of people were running water decks in various forms from Gyarados to Lumineon to Tentacruel to Blastoise... so Pikachu had a walk in the park. Noticeable I saw a huge lack of lightning, dark and fighting decks. I saw like two fighting, one dark I think and ZERO lightning so far. Also obviously zero steel and I probably saw zero full colorless based but I saw Pidgeot sprinkled on colored stuff. Then again, I was playing at the moment of the reset. second place in popularity was Mewtwo (closer to water but water still were the majority) and third was Celebi (not so much but noticeable) I may have seen one fire deck and I know I saw a random Dragonite one too.
Got mine with Mewtwo. Imo most consistent deck in the format. My advice though is to play pikachu since there are a lot of people playing water decks with articuno
Tried multiple games with my pet Alakazam deck, which performs really well when the consistency works in my favor. Sadly, this event was not one of those times. So I had to switch to Gyarados, but I got there in my first five games on the deck.
I won 5 in a row w Pika Ex/Zeb deck. Then I won another and decided to intentionally concede the next 6 to help people w the win streaks. I plan to concede 5 each day until the event ends
Last event I had a super lucky 5-0 after an opponent misplay on G4. This time 0-2 followed by 5-0. Can confirm Pika EX is pretty strong against the ladder meta
While I agree that the Gyarados deck has those polarizing matchups against bench-attacking decks. Most people in the early event queue often run variant Celebi, Gyarados & Mewtwo decks. I still think a Greninja-Gyarados deck is effective at getting the emblem since it matches up so well against those. I just got it on the first go using this Gyarados deck. Only close to losing against another Gyarados deck.
I remember I was struggling pretty hard to hit five wins last time, and there wasn't a deck that I felt like I couldn't get past 3 wins with. Then I tried Weezing-Arbok-Wigglytuff, and went 13-0 online.
I kept getting 4 with Char/cuno, pika, etc. I decided to be a degenerate and run Misty with Articuno/ninja/starmie and got it first try easily. Now, I can go back and play fun, off-meta/janky decks.
guess I got extremely lucky this morning on my first run winning 5 games back to back with the Celebi / Eggsecute deck! 🎉 - lots of lucky draws and even luckier coin flips ngl lol
I tried about 30 games with the Lumineon deck, 10-15 with charcanine and 8 with wiggly-eggs and couldn’t get it done until I switched to Gyrados. I feel so dirty lol. Currently donating wins to atone for my actions
If you're struggling, play Pikachu, it's really consistent and has a really good matchup against the other meta decks, and please play 2 Giovanni instead of potions, one shooting 100hp pokemons is a lot more important than you think
I had no luck with Starmie/Lumineon because of too many electric decks. PidgeotEX/Tauros/Druddigon did it first try for me, the only close matchup was against a greninja, where you have the pressure to get rolling/destroy their wall fast enough
Got lucky this time. 5 matches played, 5 wins. Mewtwo deck did it easily. Last time i was still pretty new to the game. I had to play a lot of games to pull it off (i did not have a meta deck sadly) but a non-meta farfetch'd/Sanslash deck gave those 5 wins to me.
What do you think makes the Wigglytuff-Exeggutor deck better than the Exeggutor-Mew-Tauros deck? Is it straight up more favorable in terms of winrate or is it just easier to pilot for most players?
In the last emblem event once I got my emblem I made a deck with 1 magikarp and the rest items and trainers. I’d make all these elaborate like x speed into fossil up front discard fossil into magikarp energy on magikarp retreat into fossil discard fossil misty on magikarp. Pause. End turn. The Japanese opponents I had seemed to really enjoy it and I got a bunch of new people with Japanese names on my friend list. Now I get to wonder pick for the different text more often
Considering all of the celebi decks running around, I find it odd that you didn't even give a passing mention to Blaine decks, which themselves have a decent matchup spread.
I hit the 1 in 3 last night and this is what I played against 1st round mewtwo - win 2nd round mewtwo- win 3rd round graninja- win 4th round mewtwo (with red card) - win, because they unbricked my hand 5th round charizard - win
On my 4 win streak, and last match on a garados Vaporeon vs garados Greninja. Get to 2 point but opponent caught up with garados Misty, no choice but to deal damage and sacrifice garados. I need Eevee hit 2 head for KO, flip the coin and walk away from the monitor, hit 5 head and get the 5 winstreak on the first try 🎉🎉

If you're struggling, play Pikachu, it's really consistent and has a really good matchup against the other meta decks, and please play 2 Giovanni instead of potions, one shooting 100hp pokemons is a lot more important than you think
Hi friends, I hope you are all having a good day!
I had no luck with Starmie/Lumineon because of too many electric decks. PidgeotEX/Tauros/Druddigon did it first try for me, the only close matchup was against a greninja, where you have the pressure to get rolling/destroy their wall fast enough
Got my 5 streak already with grapploct, greninja, hitmonlee deck. Added a poke flute to double kill the magikarps and staryus lol
Got there with Charcanine! One shotting everything feels good.
Used the wiggli-eggs deck, 5 games going first 5 wins 🔥🔥🔥
the last 5 win streak event i ran the zard/arcanine deck and BOTH times i lost at 4 wins because my zards were the bottom 2 cards in the deck
Thanks! ❤
Wiggly is better into Gyarados and Charizard, but worse into Celebi.
This event is like a free infinite conquest
I used the Charizard deck to get 5 wins. Very helpful.
I got mine with the Celebi deck so strong but can be incredibly frustrating sometimes
Considering all of the celebi decks running around, I find it odd that you didn't even give a passing mention to Blaine decks, which themselves have a decent matchup spread.
Feel like aerodactyl is the more stable fighting core. The tempo of the body plus the gio crack for 90 ends games on the spot.
Played Arcanine, won the first 5 matches. Took a total of like 14 minutes to clear the challenge 😆
lol the kids were going crazy in the back
For the wiggly eggs deck its possible to run two wigglytuff ex? If it is, what cards should i put
I just don't think you need it, but if you really wanted probably trim the baby wiggly.
Ok, ive tried your version, its better than mine, thx ahah
I hit the 1 in 3 last night and this is what I played against
1st round mewtwo - win
2nd round mewtwo- win
3rd round graninja- win
4th round mewtwo (with red card) - win, because they unbricked my hand
5th round charizard - win
Ripped 3 wins with Lumineon quickly, then ran into trouble with mediocre draws against Moltres-Charizard. Ended my streak, sadge.
What is the origin of the deck name "fighting box?"
Did it in 7 games with Fighting Box! Last dude had two successful Misty flips and misplayed cause they were scared of the Tauros.
