I have been a few times and I have to be honest, not much unusual happened. However I too was looking at the Tom Fool painting and heard a faint knocking in the roped off area that was about 4ft down a small staircase to the left of the painting. I stood quietly and i could hear faint knockings a few times. Didn't really feel scared. But I stood on the second stair (without entering the restricted area) and there was a cold spot that felt icey. However I didn't really feel cold, it just felt oddly chilly in that spot. My Dad who is a skeptic said it was a draft under the door, he is probably right, but its fun to think Tom Fool was hanging around somewhere.
Really spooky and absolutely freezing cold. Got woke up in the night by a big bang at the end of the bed and heard whispering all night. Most of the group fell asleep for short times. Even just the Ghost tour itself was awesome
Err no - This case has and is being scientifically investigated. Its been studied a great deal and the researchers have come up with a host of explanations (psychological and neuroscientific) for the experiences - its quite wrong to just say 'emotion' - you need properly thought out explanations - like the researchers there have been developing. A fair bit of the work has been published in journals.
Been up to the castle today, beautiful surroundings fells, some great walks and the lovely little village of Ravenglass nearby.
