Thank you.. This was a big help, I needed access to the climate control , and this showed me how to get that without damaging anything, next is fix the bose CD changer, the CDC go in, but there IS a play error, I think it's dirty,
This was very helpful. I have a 97 Pathfinder and I couldn't figure out for the life of me how to remove the connectors on the various switches. Now I think I can do it. Hard to find anything on RUclips about those pesky switch clips. Thanks bud!
Ok this helps out a lot more. My QX4 is an 02 so I was wondering why it was a bit different from your other pathfinder video. Looks like with the facelift came some other changes too edit:yup, was easy as it looked. mine was already swapped so the clock came out rather easy. still took a bit of brute force but after that everything went smooth. easiest damn stereo install for me hah another edit: watching this again, i noticed another big difference. The climate control on the QX4 is part of the bezel, so when you pull those two screws out, the whole thing comes out. LOTS of room to work with.
I know this is an old video, but a bit of additional info about the 6CD Bose w/cassette and RDS. If you have had issue with "cutting out" meaning that while the stereo is in operation it suddenly loses volume, that is often the AMP portion of the stereo and is often NOT user serviceable. Send it to the presenter above so it can be benched. Now rarely, you might simply have a loose connection. Before servicing, remove the panel, remove the stereo, and take either 91 percent or higher alcohol, or contact cleaner and CLEAN the contacts. If in doubt, take little plastic baggies (non lubricated condoms work too). Spray the contacts and place the baggie over the contact heads and let soak for an hour. Then remove the baggies, make sure there is NO moisture or spray left on the contacts (blow dryer at low works) insure the pins are clean and not bent and the wires do not look frayed. Also do the same for the connectors on the stereo (minus the baggies of course) clean thoroughly and dry. Reconnect either the original stereo or serviced stereo and replace in the console. Now this is only a temporary fix and may NOT work. Additional wire troubleshooting between the speakers, amp, and head unit may be needed as the wiring does age and often creates open (no signal or amp boost) pathways. When in doubt, get the unit serviced. (See video above). For a third party unit, I would advise either professional installation, or if you are able to do this, there is a custom harness needed which will allow you to use the original Bose equipment speakers and amp. Best Buy and other custom audio retailers will have these. You only have to tell them the make, model, year and stereo type and also that it is a Bose system (if you wish to keep it).
Edit: Also look on the Nissan Pathfinder forums as the 6CD Cassette w/RDS and Bose seems to be a bit touchy due to it's design and the wiring. But again, if in doubt, get it serviced as they are fairly easy to repair and are quite good if you want to preserve the look and original equipment.
Well done! I have a Nissan Pathfinder 2002 here in Brazil and the video was very helpfull. I am planning to replace this audio system with another device that I got from a Nissan Frontier 2012. I am not sure if I will be able to keep the comands in the steering wheel. Do you know if it will work? Thanks!
hola, tengo una Nissan Pathfinder y quiero saber si sabes como repara la temperatura del sistema climatizado de temperatura ya que solo arroja aire frió y no caliente, si puedes ayudarme te agradezco.. saludos de mi parte.
My plastic wood trim is just breaking and separating trying to do this. Broken trim is not worth fixing the clock. I'll hold off until I can find a junk yard panel that will come off clean
Once the CD begins to skip for no reason in these Vehicles. The only cure is to buy a new one....That stock radio/CD player is the only thing you can't fix yourself and must replace,...besides it's onboard computer....lol.
my cd player has a cd in it and wont come out and it says error anyway of getting this out i dont care about the cd in it ? or dose anyone els have any idies of gettinjg this out
That's just Straight up.... I was waiting for the guy to say ; "Hey Dude, Fuck off with that loud assed weed whacker..! I'm trying to do this instructive video here,......???

Thanks, great info. You showed courage doing this operation live.
Thank you very much....This will help me a lot to remove and replace my faulty car stereo.
The vents with the clock is a pain to remove, I cracked the woodtrim on mines, you just have to be patient with it...Good vid.

Thank you for the informative video. How do I go about installing an aux input for this stereo? Do I need an rca adapter?
Fadi Hassan I am looking for the same, did you ever find or try to add aux?

Actually, it may be a Pathfinder, but which model is it? This is nowhere near the Australian model.
If I want to replace the OEM Bose with an aftermarket double din unit, do I need anything else beside a Wiring kit?
