- Best soleplate on a football boot - which boot has the best stud configuration? In todays episode, JayMike and Joltter discusses which the best soleplate on the market is; is it the Nike Mercurial Superfly 5 with the bladed studs and the anatomical soleplate, or the adidas ACE17+ Purecontrol with its conical studs and more traditional soleplate? The boys go over which stud shape is the best in terms of comfort, maneuverability, responsiveness and acceleration and obviously also discuss their personal preferences in soleplates and studs on football boots.

If you are looking for a very comfortable soleplate, Joltter goes through why he likes conical studs and more traditional soleplates the most - and the Unisport boys discuss what conical and round studs will do to a football boot in terms of comfort. Seen on football boots such as the adidas ACE17+ Purecontrol, the adidas Copa 17.1, the Nike Tiempo Legend 6 and the PUMA evoTOUCH, the round studs will give a better maneuverability in the ground as well as a better comfort. On the other hand, JayMike goes through his favourite soleplate and stud shape; the bladed studs that will give you a better, sharper acceleration and a more responsive sensation in your football boot, and here he mentions the adidas Messi 16+ Pureagility, the Nike Mercurial Superfly 5, the Nike Mercurial Vapor 11 and the the Under Armour Spotlight - all boots that are made to give you explosive speed but at the cost of maneuverability and comfort. The Nike Mercurial Superfly 5 and the Nike Mercurial Vapor 11 with their anatomical soleplate is also high on JayMikes list of football boots as he loves the anatomical soleplate that cradles the foot and allows for an even better lockdown. On the other hand, Joltter wows that he would never wear the Nike Mercurial Superfly 5 and Vapor 11 football boots as they are simply too narrow for him.

Unisport o
Unisport nice Drake reference

Unisport can you wear conical studs on ag and fg surfaces
conical studs = Stability, Agility, helps while changing directions etc
bladed studs = Acceleration, top speed, responsiveness etc
I think both studs are top class and both have some disadvantages as well. I think it all depends on personal preference and what type of feel we want while playing. As I am a attacking midfielder I prefer conical studs because I need to change directions quickly and need more agility and comfort, so I am in conical's or can say that jolter's team.
sub zero I like both because the both give their separate advantages currently I have conical studs
The Nike tiempo legend 7 or the magista obra 1 is the perfect combo of both
What if you have both
Tiempo legend 8 and 7 are the best mix.
Adidas triangle? Combination?
I used to wear blades in my predators but moved to the conical studs that I use now in my ace 16's by far my favorite someplace on any boot
Nice autocorrect you got there 👍
Thank you guys for hyping up the Mizuno all the time. I feel like its finally getting the appreciation and attention it deserves because it truly is a fantastic boot.
Please have a longer video, I love this kind of tech talk comparison videos
I like Messi 16.1s because the triangle studs allow for better turning as do chronicle studs but also have more of a aggressive traction like blades studs.
Gotta say I prefer conical, I love to twist and turn. I also dont like how bladed studs affects my ankles and knees, I notice how it restricts me
Does it make your knees hurt?
Bro do u know what's diamond shapes studs
@@Frick__humans25 are those better , not tryna be funny I’m serious mate . Which do you think is better ?
@@ToonSavage idk bro I think conical better
Joltter and Jay Mike were always great for each other
Both of them make the show interesting and informative
Keep it up guys loved you're content since the very first
Christmas at Unisport 💯
I wore F50's for years while playing competitively (on turf and grass) and fell in love with the blades on the sprint frame. However, I recently bought the Nemeziz 17.1 and the conical studs allow for so much more maneuverability and comfort, a new favorite for sure.
I remember those days when my body was tiny and I play as a winger, I love bladed studs. But now my body grown bigger and I prefer to play as a midfielder or striker, and I love my rounded studs for now.
I'm a midfielder and to be honest conical studs are just the best thing! You can rotate easily, you can still get a fair amount of grip and and like Jolter said, they are more comfortable than all the others! #TeamConicals :D
I'm honestly fine with both. While watching I was thinking back to my pairs of Tiempo Legend IVs which had conical studs in the front and blades in the back. In my opinion, that was the perfect soleplate. When you're on your toes, ready to receive the ball and turn on the dime, the conical studs did the job. When you're trying to get stuck into tackles and accelerating forward and backward, the bladed studs were incredibly useful as well. If I had to stick with one, however, I would choose conical studs. As a midfielder, they are much better suited for my game.
Team blades, never was really phased by stud patterns until I tried the Vapor 11. that has the best traction ever!!!
I used to wear Nike mercurial with the bladed studs but as I am CF they really helped me... But as soon as hypervenom 1 came out I fell in love with it and since then I have been wearing hypervenoms with conical studs, they really help me
These are my favorite kind of videos
Conical! Suuuper comfortable, fast to rotate, injury safe, healthier on joints. Special mention to slightly shaped conicals. Sg Trx Predator Absolute days. Blades were super rounded and smooth, and less un number and higher. Same placing like today’s Adidas boots. Gotta try the Purespeeds
When theres an uncut with Joltter and jay
Ahh Heaven
Love to see Joltter back.
Conical studs anytime for me with the increase in artificial pitches in Singapore and difficulty to get AG boots here. Thanks for the video, u guys rock!
I like the concept of a mixture of conical and bladed studs. I have been playing in conical studs since boyhood. But I think the mixture will provide the best of both worlds. currently I am playing in the ace 16. After seeing this and some more of unisport videos I will probably switch to the puma evo power vigour 1. As always great video
JayMike looked like a real scientist when explaining all the stuff related to studs but then came the ending where he puts the shoes on his head😂😂
That's why I like the mercurial AG plate good combination of blades and studs and the sweet mercurial upper.
Yay jolter is back and btw I got the nike fc foil black and gold cause I saw jolter wit it
From last 4 years I am wearing conical studs I don't know why but I am with the love of conical studs pattern only
In my eyes. Blades are the best, I've tried both blades and conical, but I feel like I'm ready to blast off with blades due to traction and I love that feeling, those Nike Superfly 5 in that motion blur colorway is beautiful.... wow.
I choose the bladed, I'm in love with the vapor and I think that I can do my skills with freedom.. anyway my second choose wil be the hypervenom III, they are absolutely awesome!
I like the hypervenom personally because it's a good balance between hella grip and good cutting movements
I agree with Joltter. You have to use the Hypervenom Phantom 3 on AG to know. The hexagonal studs are closer to blades than conical studs.
For me the mix between conical studs and blades is perfect because it gives you a little bit of everything. Personally, there's a thing i really want in my studs configuration: i don't like having just one single stud in the middle of the upper part (like ace for example), but more than one! (Nike most usually)
I like conical studs, but Blades will always have a special place in my heart. If I had to choose one style to wear for the rest of my life, I'd pick blades.
I have a boot with both on it ... the Nike Mercurial Vapor Club ones. In black with orange design. Very comfy in a size 7 and such a nice boot to play with.
I've been wearing the Vapors just because of the studs and I hated the synthetic material. Now I wear the superfly since the knitted material is pretty good. I love the push off, stop and changing direction of the bladed studs.
I'm a winger and I used to wear Tiempos, they are an extremely good boot.
I really got surprised by the quality of the hyperreactive soleplate on the phantom III. It feels really good and moves very well with your foot. I like the mix of the two types of studs. Imagine it being mixed with the nike plate soleplate! That would be an amazing soleplate!
My favorite soleplate had to be the Magista's. It's perfect. Enough studs for less pressure and enough for maximum traction. Not super long studs with perfect half moon and full conical studs with few bladed studs. Just perfect.
These cleats are lit 🔥🔥
personally i prefer the blades stud shape, Im also a winger. like Jay said, its the best for wingers. you get that maximum interaction with the ground, which then gives that explosive change in direction and pace.
I loved the triangular studs on the last generations of f50, nitrocharge, and predator
it really never was my priority but both are good for me, but so far i stay with the Adizero F50 2014, really a fan 😍
I play with conical studs on my aces and they are extremely good
New shape fond! Octa-hectagon
Well simple as saying that conical studs are the best. But If my heroe Jollter use it before he injured. I keep with that. Unisport in general is the best channel of football boots.
that "neljäkymmentä" was so nice! Greetings from Finland! SUOMI PERKELE
Rock the blades for an important game, conical for casual/practice situations
i really do like the conical studs as it provides more comfort and also it helps me to jump into tackles (as i am a defender)
still rocking my predator lz. i love that soleplate.
Love the video! You guys are funny ahahahaha
Team blades..
Love this channel
I've used both of them in my life, but the first boots i wore, were conical, and i hated them, because the field we used to play was extremely firm, and it was almost like walking with studs in a street, so i bought my favorite boots of all time, the adidas Beckham dragon predator pulse 2, they were beautiful and comfortable, and i played my best matches with them. They were blades, and i was a CAM with a lot of dribble and passes, so i think that is why they were good for me. Then i purchased the nike total 90 white/black, and again i hated the conical studs, but mostly i hated how wide this boots were, so i changed to nike tiempo with iconical and they were not that bad, more narrow, but not confortable. Now i mostly play in AG and I switched again to blades in the nike mercurial victory VI white green, and overall i love them because i am a CAM that cuts inside a lot to shoot or pass, however they are better for shooting than passing. That is Why i recently changed to conical again, with the adidas ace 16.1 primeknit, and i am hoping this will finally be the time the conical work for me, cause actually conical for me, should be perfect, however i loved the blades for speed and dribble, but i definitely need the agility of iconicals. If they do not work again for me then i will have to stick with blades forever...
100 th like !!! Good vid guys
I like the hyperreactive hypervenom phantom 3 DF because it has the stiff plate and a soft plate and also conical and bladed studs
blades and conical are the best ,once u get used to them ur feet adapt them and they give the best on the pitch
teen adda ....mines Nike Mercurial
any stud pattern is good, as long as it has studs.
Adidas Tunit: "Allow us to introduce ourselves"
Hi Unisport, so nice to see your explanation about various stud design. Is it possible to you to share some references/research papers related to the stud design and its analysis to prove their capabilities ? Please. . .
conical is my favorite, I love my Nike Premier
after the end of predator's era. Now i'm in love with conical stud ❤
the mixture stud pattern because I feel more comfortable when I play striker, winger, and defender.
I'm a "still playing" senior at age 61 and conical's are and will always be the best for me. I guess injuries play a big part in that choice.
I used to always wear vapors, but once i discovered the Copa Mundial man the chronicle studs are just wayyyy to sexy. they feel much better than the ones from vapors
Please make a video on "what should I buy ,studs or grippers"
can i use copa mundials for ag surfaces?
I wear vapors and they're amazing
I play soccer but heavily on rugby, i prefer conical studs because as a heavy player i feel more free with conical studs rather than blades, and blades for me it’s more hurt to use
I'm in team conical because as a central midfielder i have to move in all directions and move with the ball.
Bladed studs can only help you to cut inside.
Hi unisport, what is your take on the mixed fg-ag configuration of studs on the adidas nemeziz 17.1?
I learnt nothing from this about sole stiffness pros and cons. just two guys in love with themselves
Thank goodness Joltter is back
You guys are too funny 😂
Please do a top 5 Conical boots.
I'm sold on the hybrid patterns like the evoPOWER and Magista obra 2 line, but if I had to pick one extreme I'm with team blades.
bladed like the Superfly 5
I like both because i am a winger I use the Messi 16.1 it so comfortable and I can change directions
the magista obra 2 soleplate is my favorite
after talking about studs, do you guys have some ideas about mid-sole? In my experience, the mid-sole has more say in responsiveness. as the stiff mercurial can give you more acceleration, while the soft nike premier sole can not be fast at the first couple of steps.
I shared the video u guys r great
Conical studs hands down.. cause it’s has maneuverability and thus its makes me feel closer to the ground. Low center of gravity
This debate is so relevant, but there is one thing ppl just seem to miss on the discussion: ball contact with sole roll. You lose SO MUCH grip on the ball when using those SG boots with only 4 studs in the front. Don’t know about you all, but I could never play in boots with so little studs. 12 is a minimum for me. Maybe its my futsal mentality, but sole+ball contact is REALLY important to my game.
Luca Modric wears mercurial and he rocks with that, Jolter. LOL
Team conical since i have the adidas ace 17.1
The hyper reactive sole plate is like a dream
I love conical studs/AG
Nice vid
Conical for knee preservation ;)
Hello I want to let you know that i like to use the conical stars kind of booths because i feels very comfortable and I can move and turn around the pitch easily without any stuck.
The Adidas x is amazing
I like the soleplate of the ace 15.1
Would you rather play with the NB furon 1 (extremely stiff soleplate), or the Adidas gloro 16(extremely flexible soleplate) in a match?
Conical for life! Tweaked my knee with bladed. No idea if it's just correlation but I stay away from blades now. Which is sad because nike loves their blades :(
Both actually. Team Conical when I'm playing in AG pitches. Team Blades on natural Grass. Also Joltter, when are you going to do the EPIC SAX GUY? Moldova won 3rd place, this calls for some EPIC SAX GUY celebration.
I use the the Nike Hypervenom 3 and I really don't like the boot after switching from the New Balance Visaro. The Visaro is quite stiff and I enjoy the conical studs!!!
I like the predator mania
Finally Jolter
i prefer conical studs especially mizuno morelia 2. When i was younger i play only with blades studs. After my knee injury i changed to conical.
unboxing .....great . .nice boots ☝👌👌👏
you might think I'm crazy but I love hypervenom phinish 2(not the version like the first one) its just confromble and I feel good in them at least for me
I'm a little bias as it's been a long time since I have worn boots with conical studs. I had puma's with conical studs and then got into bladed studs with the Mercurial line. It's hard for me to get away from bladed studs. I wish the Vapor XI and Superfly 5 blades were a little bit shorter like the Vapor X and Superfly 4, but it's not too noticeable. I was tempted by the hypervenom 1 but just couldn't pull myself away from the Vapor. I don't have much trouble rotating on blades, but that could be due me being use to them.
Hi unisport, I am fan of unisport...was asking are u based in England or which Country??.
Team blades all the way 👌😌
Speed is nothing without traction, and I'm all about speed, being a winger... 😁
I like wave ignitus bladed studs
Can you guys do a width comparison of new soleplates? I suffered an injury 2 years ago playing footy and turned to barefoot/minimalist shoes to rehab. Im trying to get back on the pitch but none of the boots I've tried have a wide enough soleplate.😑
