  • Today’s video is about the comment provided by a supporter 3 months ago regarding the upgrade of my Hangkai 12HP outboard motor’s anode to a larger one. In the first part of the video, I will show you on how I upgrade the original anode to a bigger one. After that, in the second part of this video, I will share on how I repair and repaint the peeled paint and oxidised spots.

I can see millions of sand particles entering the cylinder through those plug holes

Dah try jugak tukar. Memang beza anode hangkai dgn tohatsu. Anode hangkai xde pun kesan hakis, body enjin yg jadi hakis. Pakai anode tohatsu ni, nampak anode dia ada kesan hakis, harap body enjin tahan dari hakisan

Putting a bigger anode won't help with corrosion with parts of the motor that aren't under water. Anodes only help stop electrolysis on metals that are submerged under the water line. Not metals exposed to air. That's what primers and paint protect.

I’m not sure whether it is factory or not but I chose the more expensive one.

Are you using this motor in saltwater or freshwater? I'm looking at getting one for my inflatable. Thanks and good video

Hi Ryan. Thanks for your support. I used it for both saltwater and fresh water. Works well for both. But you need to flush your enshrine every time you finished using it at saltwater.
