One of my favorite stats from the 2020 MLB season was that Starling Marte played in 61 games in a 60 game regular season due to being traded from Arizona to Miami.
and the next year he led mlb in steals but because he was traded between leagues, he led neither league lol

Nice to see Mike Brosseau get a mention; that plate appearance was a beauty to watch from a technical standpoint (could really see Brosseau slowly but surely time up Chapman's pitches), and also IMMENSELY satisfying after Chapman's 'accidental' headhunting (I still think it was at least partially deliberate and either way, the suspension was very much deserved).
Yankees fan here. Luke Voit was a legit stud: .883 OPS over parts of four seasons with NY. Derailed by injuries, but not a fluke, in my opinion.
Yup aswell as being horrible defender if he doesn’t hit he’s unplayable.

I know a lpt of people didnt like the 2020 season but i honestly enjoyed it and the weird playoffs that year. It was the light in a very dark year. Ultimately im grateful it happened.

I think a great idea would be the MLB making a All-MLB team for previous years dating back to 1900
But they get dropped over a decade for each year ending in the current years number
For example this year would be 1905,1915,1925 etc…

1.I just knew Kyle Lewis was a future star he raked from college all the way to the pros had some injuries and barely can make a roster all within like 2yrs
2.I really root for Ke'Bryan Hayes if you look at the metrics DEFENSIVELY its literally Brooks Robinson, him and everyone else😅 he's literally a HOFer if he figures out how to be at least a league avg 3B at the plate

This season was so fake, a team with losing record was one game away from reaching the World Series
Yeah and the Giants with the same losing record than the Brewers didn't make it to the playoffs while the Brewers did become of more W in their division while the NL W was so much tougher. Also the Giants would have easily made it if Posey didn't opt out. Another weird aspect of that season.

@@mascwalt right, the 60th game in 2020 was awful, I remember Slater striking out on balls for important at bat, maybe even the last out ? And then in 2021... Wade Jr a few inches away from being remembered as the one who hit a go ahead walk off HR against the Dodgers to reach the NLDS, before Flores not swinging on a check swing for last out... Just imagine if we won then the Giants would have had better off season next few years and Ohtani might have a signed with the them. A lot of what if but still.

I loved 2020 MLB. It was very entertaining in a difficult time. It was pure entertainment and the competitive value of that season is non existent (none of those awards or accomplishments have much merit). But it was a good distraction.

Iglesias deserves better than to be on this list. He's had 4 seasons better than his 2020 by WAR and is a career .283/.323/.386 hitter with solid defense at a super-premium position.

MLB & the players union screwed the bag of how many games to play in 2020. Took them like a month or 2 to figure out how players would be paid out on the shortened season & they almost canceled the entire season if they couldn’t come to an agreement soon. Was supposed to be 100 games starting in June, then 80 games starting in July. Then they figured it out at the final hour & played 60 games. Better than nothing.
MLB had an opportunity to build more goodwill with fans and maybe actually make some new ones then. But as they continue to do is screw it all up.

Cubs fan here, if I were to put a starting rotation player as addition. It would be Darvish. Darvish was having a rough season in 2018, but then 2019’s second half him was outstanding. He continued in 2020, while he did not win the Cy Young behind a pitcher for the Reds in ERA, Darvish was amazing. Sadly that amazing 8-3 record and strikeouts he had was never the same. He was close as an ace but now he’s gonna retire soon. So I’d put him kind of here as a 2nd starter.
Darvish has had a very successful MLB career outside of 2020, though
