The Dynamic to Talen system is interesting. Dynamic + Empire is my go to, but I do quite like the idea of using Talens for the lighter tones. Good tip, I might try that!
Hey,congrats from México. I just start practicing and videos like yours are going to be really helpfull. Thanks AND keep going! Hope I can tattoo like you some day🙏🏻
I’m all liked and subscribed I’ve tight myself to tattoo but practicing in myself and fake skin it’s been about 2 years now I’m in need for a lil help with shade and gray wash
Hey are you going to be able to do a online seminar for those that aren’t in San Diego ? I’m all the way in Atlanta I love drawing realism but can’t connect it into tattooing I’ve been tattooing a year already I’ve been doing very well in lettering and script but I am trying to learn how to do black and grey realism
I suggest it man if you look at the clip of the practice skin you can tell that it’s a little smoother going in and lighter so makes a great light tone wash
i totally have i was just showing my apprentice how to do that last week i just try really hard to not rely on it much but i use it for difficult photo references
Hello! Is the distilled water the same type you would find in a regular store? (as in, the kind that says on the label for use in batteries and steam irons)? Anyone knows?
Does the Talens ink is good for the skin? I mean that inks I specifically for paper...my question is if is ok to use that kind of ink on the skin. Hoping you can help me with that. Thank you so much.
hey brotha sorry for the late response, talens has been used in the tattoo world for much longer than ive even been tattooing thats why pretty much most tattoo suppliers carry it, but more so that question you have is exactly why i like it so much for my light tones i can go super soft with them and they heal just the right amount of lightness for me. but again this is just what i use and you should use what ever you are comfortable with
hello I'm a professional tattoo artist and I'd love to endlessly learn about art and see what all the other artists have to say because every once an important to me and I really want to hear what they have to say and how they feel about their colors and how you know they go because I feel like they're so smart so important such great people and I like to spend time with like-minded individuals thank you for this educational video dios TE bendiga
hey brother! i already have an apprentice rn but thanks for checking! id suggest checking out shops around southpark/northpark theres so many good ones to choose from!
Hey huge fan! i got the packer aswell, just for fun what voltage range are you at for lineing/shadeing? for lines i feel like i have to go REAL slow for putting in 7-9rl's at around 8.5-9 volts.
hey brother if you are referring to the packer i run that at 6.1 i don't outline really in my work but if i was i would be doing that same thing which would be slowing the machine down
From what I understand the more water you add to gray wash little lighter the gray. So if you just had a lot of gray wash black ink with hardly less water it might be blacker. I also heard there's different techniques you can do to make the tattoo darker. Like if you go over the tattoo a lot in layers over and over will be darker I know that. I also know if you press down harder on the tattoo gun it could be darker I know things about tattoos
like you said brotha its all relative depends on how you work i.e hand speed, depth, and how deliberate you are. most my peers tend to use similar or darker counts also, and i actually hardly use the 1/4 cap i mostly use 1/2 cap for my lighter tones on white skin i suggest you maybe see some of my healed work on my page have a blessed day bro 🙏
you are not using drawing ink to tattoo right? this is just to practice on practice skin right? tattoo inks are different to inks for paper the molecules are bigger reducing the absorvcion into the body. if you use drawing inks to tattoo you are poisoning your clinet lol. plz clarify to amke sure people that see your content dont go and use talons or pelican to tattoo. there is a reason why we dont use those to tattoo in the modern days. lol
newb tattoo artist here, i love how u explain things. i learned a lot
thanks man i appreciate it!
Bad ass bro….great content and can’t wait for the online Seminars

hey! yes ive done a beta version of it before but still have some kinks to work out on it i might do another small batch on soon!
Doing tattoo gods work with these videos… curious to why you use talens, are you not able to achieve light shades with dynamic triple black?
Hey man good question! I just feel it’s easier to blend
I suggest it man if you look at the clip of the practice skin you can tell that it’s a little smoother going in and lighter so makes a great light tone wash
Needed this. Thank you
Have ever use posterize on photoshop to break down your tones and shape?
i totally have i was just showing my apprentice how to do that last week i just try really hard to not rely on it much but i use it for difficult photo references
Wow, informative
So helpful! Thank you so much! You help more than you know 🖤
Very informative and helpful, thank you very much
no problem! thanks for watching
no problem! thanks im sure ill have some more out soon on the topic
Cool video man! The bishop wand packer is a good machine for realism? I know it has like 4.2 stroke but can you do smooth shades with it?
i definitely can and have man i only got the shader about 6 months ago before that all my portraits for almost the last year were with the packer
Thank you for the knowledge
your videos are very helpful thank you
Glad you like them!
Beauty of a video
Thank you it helped a lot!
thanks! it is a little advanced but shows you what i work with as a refference!
Do you think Talens and Pelikan are the same? If not what makes them different and why do you prefer Talens over Pelikan?
Very nice video 👍
much appreciated!
Hello! Is the distilled water the same type you would find in a regular store? (as in, the kind that says on the label for use in batteries and steam irons)? Anyone knows?
It's funny I use both talenz and dynamic ink..just not together but thank you for the insight
hope it helps!
I will definitely try this thx again 🙏

thanks for content, really awesome😍😇🧡🌹🔥
thanks man! i havent tried that ink but gonna try some more this year as i do more review videos!
Do you think talents ink doesn't stay in the skin with the pass of the years like the actual tattoo inks on the market? Graciasssss

SUBSCRIBED!
appreciated!
Why do you add the water? To make it lighter I’m guessing… but I have Kuro Sumi ink and there’s a grey wash and a light grey wash bottle.
just to dilute it brotha
I use TrueBlack and shading solution from World famous ink to prepare may grey wash set for almost 5 years
nice man yeah its good when you find blacks that you can use for your solids and greys hope the video helped!
Wow thanks man 🫡🔥
No problem 👍
Do you rinse you needles between the colors in water ??
Yeah I try to often 🤙🏼
What app do you use on your Ipad for your drawings?
Procreate
Bro I could’ve used this tutorial when I was starting out, but this was fuckin dope vid bro🤙🏽
thank you soo much man! im glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the good vibes
THANK YOU!!!!

muchas gracias!
what does talenz mean
Hey what is talens?
Hey, I live in San Diego! Are you hiring for any apprenticeship spots by chance?
hey brother! i already have an apprentice rn but thanks for checking! id suggest checking out shops around southpark/northpark theres so many good ones to choose from!
So I don’t need to buy greywash?
Why do you have to desaturate the image when you labelling the values or tones?
What volts did you usually run the packer when doing your black and grey work?
Are you taking apprentices?
no brotha sorry i already have one and probably wont take any others on for years but good luck!
Hey huge fan! i got the packer aswell, just for fun what voltage range are you at for lineing/shadeing? for lines i feel like i have to go REAL slow for putting in 7-9rl's at around 8.5-9 volts.

@@gallosantiago4776 cool! i got the shader aswell, do you shade with the packer or shader? i found the shader too soft for me. Thanks for the content!
Good Work...Love from India...
Thank you so much
Bro why talents
❤❤

Everything you wrote, is 100% wrong. And please dont call a tattoo machine a gun.
@@simonkristiansen960 I know what I'm talking about but I'm not going to fix an idiot like you
Who put 50p in the dickhead
Talen's is a drawing ink and not a sterilised tattoo ink...
Do your history before you comment
It’s all relative to the skin tone man, 1/4 for the lighter tone is crazy dark for white people
like you said brotha its all relative depends on how you work i.e hand speed, depth, and how deliberate you are. most my peers tend to use similar or darker counts also, and i actually hardly use the 1/4 cap i mostly use 1/2 cap for my lighter tones on white skin i suggest you maybe see some of my healed work on my page have a blessed day bro 🙏
U dont need this videos u need tattoo more to learn your own technix
you are not using drawing ink to tattoo right? this is just to practice on practice skin right? tattoo inks are different to inks for paper the molecules are bigger reducing the absorvcion into the body. if you use drawing inks to tattoo you are poisoning your clinet lol. plz clarify to amke sure people that see your content dont go and use talons or pelican to tattoo. there is a reason why we dont use those to tattoo in the modern days. lol
