- I wanted to get something simple out as I work on my next BIG video. So here's a brief run down of the Adventurer's Guild and how it loops back to ancient philosophies! I hope you enjoy.

@@Kurotaisa unlikely, it is because we still need a stable government but also people in need of help. Looking at fallout, having a nuclear wasteland may not be the best.
Edit: I've only watched people play 3, NV and NV. I'm not sure about 1 and 2.

I adore the idea of an Adventurer's Guild, just a shame the concept can't be applied in the real world.
Anyway, great use of gobbiespeak, that was fun. The Gobbies are one of my favorite peoples in FFXIV.
I mean....
A data base of people and what tasks they are capable of. Perhaps with a portfolios of examples of what they can do and credentials.
A submission form for requests for work tagged by category and price.
A matching system that lets you pick who you wish to hire out of who most likely has the skills for what you need done. Including arranging team of people to ask to work together. Maybe with a "willing to collaborate" tag so "adventurers" can opt out if they wanna roll alone. or a "works in a group" for people who want to make a team of "adventurers" that do things.
A help desk with trained consultants to help you figure out what skills you need if you don't know exactly, and to suggest a price range likely to get picked up quickly by an "adventurer".
A monetary transaction system that holds funds until the work is confirmed as done on both ends.
A percentage is added to the final bill to cover the operation and maintenance of the guild OR is due as a monthly fee for being an "adventurer with the guild"
A rating system to allow people to give feed back on the work done by specific adventurers.
It's completely applicable to the real world. In fact it's been done! We just call "adventurers" freelance workers IRL. And the "Adventures guilds" would be freelance agencies and freelance work sites!
Essentially the unemployment office

Freelance does not equate to Adventurer's Guild, and in terms of a fantasy thing... I'm sorry, but think more morbid: Mercenaries.
That's exactly what they are in Eorzea. Go kill things for money.
Doesn’t mercenary work exist? Though for more mundane tasks, I doubt it would fit the idea of “adventure” for people looking for excitement. But then again, even some of the most mundane tasks by the Guild are lethal to those unprepared to the task.
This mindset helps with the tedium of watching the Continental Circus trip over themselves for the umpteenth time. I always pull the short straw on All Saint's Wake.

All things considered, I seem to remember them acknowledging Idyllshire as it's own settlement. Probably helps that Idyllshire was one of the factions came to the aid of the scions towards the end of the expansion.
@@Kylesico912x Idyllshire is definitely a base of operations for the Adventurer's Guild now due to the amount of help they provided for sure.
Very late to these comments but…
F**k the Sharlayans. They gave up any claim to Old Sharlayan or so much of a ilm to Eorzea when they fled from the Garleans like cowardly whipped dogs and abandoned Eorzea to be conquered or take heavy losses to keep their freedom.
Granted I’m speaking as one who hasn’t played Endwalker yet but I don’t know if anything they did do during that expansion will make up for their cowardly abandonment of so many people.

I was there when revenant's toll was being built up patch by patch (same with Idyllshire) I miss that they did that with certain zones it's like the adventurers moved in and claimed it. Domain Enclave wasn't as cool imo because it was instance based for your individual character and not server based and the beastman tribe areas already did something like that.

I wonder if they will do the same thing with the "restaurant" in Ultima Thule. From the little side quests, it looks like they're going to slowly build it up into a proper place over time.

they could have later tied it to story progression.. if that would even work

i just stumbled upon your channel and i absolutely love how you also include a light roleplay undertone to the video! it adds just the right amount of immersion and really caught my attention and i just wanted to say i really love that!!!
I'm glad you enjoy them! I figured writing my scripts from an "in world" perspective might add a bit of PAZAZ.
This just make me think The Toll should have player housing lol. No but really I never thought to look into the guild much like ex trails it is a game mechanic with just a handwave. So glad for this vid and not just for you skills at gobbie tounge flapping. Also really makes the Moon Fire Festival more amazing. Great vid. Now to thr share button!

right there with you on player housing for the Toll. At least apartments would be cool to have... Shouldn't be too hard to implement those either, given the deceptively massive fortress that the town is built in.

It's funny since the WoL IS Azem, albeit 1/6 sundered (Your soul and Ardbert's are rejoined together), and they're definitely smiling when they're at the guild...most of the time

You know I do Wonder how long do till we meet Azem him/her self in person I know the name azem is a title but I also do Wonder what is the person we used to be before the sundering actually called azem probably not but who knows I like them think about it from time to time
i dont think we ever will, mainly because everyone has their own headcannon about how their azem looks if its diffirent to their current incarnation and i dont think they want to put a face to it. at most we might get to see what mask azems is

I think it a shame that the ancients and Ascians are largely seen as one and the same. Knowing what they were, I would like to use the term 'ancient' to describe what the Ascians once were, and Ascian to describe what they had become.
something i started wondering, is there an unspoken age requirement cause I had an idea for a fanfic and was wondering how young i could make my wol for it
There is in fact a cannon age requirement before you can sign up to become part of the guild. (We don't know the exact number.) Mostly because the jobs can be to dangerous for anyone that isn't fully matured.
