A Review Of The Gemini Jets Interactive Series

- The Gemini Jets Interactive series is a relitavly new series of model aircraft, the first of which was released in 2019. As of right now, Gemini Jets has released 4 in total, The Atlas Air 747-8f, The Polar Air Cargo 747-8f, An Air Bridge Cargo 747-8f and the Cargolux 747-8f in 1/400 scale.
In this video I will be buying all 4 of the released Interactive series aircraft and reviewing them. Are they worth it? and do they live up to the, non exsistant, Hype? (Or is the Lack of hype, deserved?)

Yes, GJ uses the JC Wings mould. JC themselves released the cargolux 50 years livery and are going to release Korean Air Cargo soon.

I have a 1/400 Nippon Cargo Airlines 747-8F Interactive, and all the details and doors are really good👍
I just bought 2 models for the first time in a while. One is the UPS B747-400F Interactive Series. I do have to say I love the model. The gaps aren’t actually that bad as some others I’ve seen. The only issue I have is the rear landing gear. It is all crooked sideways when lifted up, however it looks fine when on the ground.
I’ve actually gotten really lucky with my Gemini Jets Models. There are of course small quality control issues, but the only model I had trouble with was a China Southern A380 and that was the nose landing gear broke off after a big fatigue crack snapped off only after 2 days of it just sitting.
I’ve had much worse luck with other companies, the worst being Herpa. I bought a Etihad A340-600 in the F1 livery. Broken Right Main Landing Gear, Engines 3 & 4 were unattached, Engine 1’s engine fan came out of the engine casing and also came off, and both horizontal stabilizers fell out. I never returned it even though I should have, but I plan to fix it since I have all the parts except for engine 1’s casing. It’s probably in a junk drawer somewhere, at least I hope so.
Anyways thought I’d share my new purchase and past experiences, definitely love my Interactive Series!

What a review! RIP to the engines. Really enjoyed all the expressions and points made and I highly agree with them. I would definitely think it would be an interesting element if they can make it to where the parts move all in one piece but time will only tell on that one. Awesome video!

Preach, brother! This is an excellent review series! TBH, these are not worth it to me due to the panel gaps and the paint on the plastic prices is different from the metal sections. I will try there models at some point in the future and do a review as well. I really like your new review style!

Ive seen the atlas air 747 - 8F fly by before!
They do look very cool when the door are open. But when you close them, you see the massive gaps and the nose shape doesn't have the angle change. The hump on all Gemini -8Fs also looks too round in the back. Imo it looks like a cool but flawed effort by GJ but and very expensive. Thanks for including my IG reply and great review, I can definitely see why you have your opinion on them!

They’re alright. I bought the Air Bridge Cargo 747-8 because I thought they were a cool concept. But they’re kind of gimmicky, and I didn’t like them as much as I thought I would. But I’m really surprised to see how expensive they are on Ebay. Maybe if I sell mine, I’ll sell it cheap like $45-50
I personally liked the original 747 8f releases for abc cargolux and atlas air more than these. The originals weren’t interactive, but at least they were more durable
I’ve seen the Atlas Air 747-8F at Chicago before they are HUGE up close especially when your on a CRJ-700

The nose, cockpit, hump and the taper onto the main fuselage are very off in these moulds. I wonder if that’s a side effect of the interactive pieces? I would have also liked to see a hollow main deck for 1/200. Some little details, even only decals on the inside would be a great touch.
great review. Waiting to get a cargolux retro 747 by Gemini, and a JC wings Korean Air Cargo 747 interactive.
I was considering to pre order the 1/200 interactive 747 (I believe it was going to come from JC Wings). After watching this video and seeing that the "interactive" part was just taking a piece off and replacing it with an open piece, I will just wait for a review of the 1/200 interactive model. If it seems good and I missed it, I will just wait until another release comes out.
I don't know if you can't get the prices lower than what they retail for. At least here in America you can get an interactive series 747 for $56 dollars at most stores and eBay, but I guess shipping or customs might get you. Overall I bought the DHL/Polar 747 and it had the exact same issues (outward engines and rear door not gong all the way)and its not bad! It would be sick to have a fleet of ups 767 and MD-11s that the doors opened on!!!

Now,they just made UPS one.Mine is on the way,can't wait for it because it was my first Interactive model.
The only thing I would say is that they are definitely too fragile. I can’t put the nose up because the latch got stuck and broke off.

how do you justify spending money on these, albeit being your hobby? I often have an internal struggle. I would spend days to filter out which one I want and just get the one.

I bought the MILITARY Gemini Jets C-5M and it isn't that bad Compared to the Cargolux 747-8i Interactive version.. The C-5M IS JUST DULL and Boring Looking...And I'd rather Have the Cargolux..Anytime..

When will they expand there series into other types other than 7478iF in 1:400 scale? Like 777, 767, MD-11’s
They have already expanded to include the 747-400f and 777-200f, I just haven’t covered them yet

Just don’t complain about the 1/400 scale interactives are difficult now, i know its kinda difficult but now they decide to add a metal key like the 1/200 models

Its not good for the polar air if its broken. We used so much money to pay but we used glue. Gemini jets should pay for it.

They look amazing but well overpriced but on the whole they are really nice
