Gemini Jets is a great example of a monopoly. There is no competition for majority of their models. They do not have to listen, because who are you going to go to? When NG finally can fully compete with Gemini Jets on all their models. Then we will see a revised Gemini Jets, like the days of Gemini Jets models in the 2000s. I am not writing this with hate, but love. I do not want to be scared about ordering a model, and thinking it is broken or damaged.
Or they will disappear because they can't react fast enough. In Legos case they are mostly bringing smaller competitors to court (even though they are just competiting), but Gemini Jets can't do it with NG.
Definitely agree with there being problems with the 220. Even though it was simpler, I kind of prefer the old, herpa mould. Will be exciting to see the WestJet 737 at Dulles.
On the Aer Lingus ATR: Indeed it’s their fault for the incorrect printing of the cockpit windows. I believe the reason why they turned off comments on the IG post was to avoid unnecessary criticism from collectors because I’ve noticed some of that in the past. Sure, criticism is good, and I’m all for it in fairness, but I didn’t like the fact that this was being portrayed as a kit, since this is a printing issue, not an assembly issue. That’s probably why they disabled comments to avoid the backlash and prevent the comments section from turning into a battleground. Kind of sucks because you miss out on the people who want to be fair with criticism on that particular release. The FlyBe looks good, minus that propeller that fell off. In hindsight, minor issues like that tend to happen from time time. At least it’s an easy fix in your case. The Air Canada is pretty good; I know people are not happy with the new gear, but I slightly prefer the newer one due to the detail it contains. The old one was just a plastic strut, which to be honest, people were complaining about it too. I’m glad they changed it, just unfortunate they made it a little longer than how it should be. Good unboxing nonetheless!
Thanks man! and I agree, however I don't think disabling comments is the way to go. I don't mind it, as long as they know for next time to fix their mistakes, which when looking back on it, sometimes hasn't been the case with Gemini. While the unnecessary hate isn't okay, it unfortunately shows that Gemini have built up a reputation for these inaccuracies and a lack of respect towards their customers
@@Aviation18 for sure, I don’t think disabling comments was the right idea either, but like I said they probably didn’t want any unnecessary criticism to be posted on the account and have it be associated with their brand. It’s unfortunate GJ has built up that kind of reputation from the community, because the Kits stuff that started a couple years back has created a bad reputation in of itself for the community and the people behind it. Funnily enough, I got blocked by them through their Instagram account because I had gotten fed up with their content, which is ironic because that’s what they call GJ out for. Hypocrisy at its finest…
I have over 500 gemini jets models collected over 20 years, and a total of 3, yes 3 have come with an issue. while3/4 of my NG models come defective and i'd say about 1/4 of my Aeroclassics have zinc rot. Never mind the random stuff that falls off my Dragon Wings and Jet X models. Maybe you need to get a supplier that QA's their shipments.
What a way to end a day..... watching a new Aviation18 video. I agree, Gemini Jets should lean a bit on their supplier and attempt to clean-up some quality issues. That said GJ still offers a nice array of plane types. Your real world comments on plane type and airline are great and makes a truly enjoyable video. Keep up the good work, we appreciate it!!!!
About 6 out of 10 of my Gemini Jets models have broken without any human contact, the models just break. I've mainly just stopped collecting Gemini Jets, only brought a replacement RAF A330MRTT, as It broke. NG Models always perfect, never broken.
Your flybe Q400 I had the same issue. I went to the store to collect mine to find mine and the other 2 in their stock all had defects. Mine had the prop off and no pin. Another had prop off and still had the pin floating around and the third had no nose wheel. I ended up still getting mine but with the pin off the other broken one.
@@TheCoastalDiamond Well in a way you can partly because any retailer worth their salt should inspect the model before sending. Plus he said "Broken" not crappy mold.
@@WysteriaGuitar the a220 like he said has landing gear to high he didn’t specifically say crappy but he don’t like the atr and a220 mould, also you defend geminijets very strongly as if you work for them or you haven’t seen there dark side check Aviation18 video on the downfall of geminijets he explains it better then me
I would like to see a Loganair ERJ-145 in the collection. Also, get a Blue Islands ATR72 if it is produced. Get a Eastern Airlines Saab 2000 if it is produced. And finally, get a Aurigny ATR42 if it is produced.
How is the a220 mold for the air Canada different than GJs a220 mold they used for the delta a220? I think that was the first a220 model they released and that was a few years ago so I’m not sure if GJ revised the mold for this air Canada model
Gemini Jets started releasing A220's with the Herpa mould while they developed their own. Now they use their new mould which isn't as good as the Herpa mould. The Herpa mould didn't have rolling landing gear but I didn't mind that, I'd rather that over having unproportional landing gear

As a 500 scale collector, we experience the same thing with Herpa. They have a monopoly on this scale and their QC is even worse than Gemini Jets.
@@sliferxxxx very true. Herp is way worse than Gemini
@bacchaaviation8024 yes wayy way worse than Gemini jets
Totally agree! I don't enjoy critiquing Gemini Jets but when they keep on producing poor models, I don't really have any other choice
Definitely agree with there being problems with the 220. Even though it was simpler, I kind of prefer the old, herpa mould. Will be exciting to see the WestJet 737 at Dulles.
Agreed, the Delta A221 I have it amazing

That's what I've also found, wherever I can I will always opt to buy from other companies
You should review more planes like this
I will be soon!
On my air canada a220-300 in the retro livery tca made by gj 1400 the nose gear is shorter the nose is lower than the tail
new to being interested in aviation. any tips as new to the hobby?

It's such a shame that it's so common
Just a few months ago, I flew this exact plane to Dublin
My 747 phoenix models just delivered last week with broken landing gears 😭
Oh no!
Cool bro
Can’t wait to see Dulles
Thank you, just waiting on some jet bridges to arrive and then I will have an update out!
WOW COOL GREAT MODEL
I wanna try collecting again, any tips?
That's good to hear! Try not to get bogged down in the size of your collection and just collect, slowly, models that you like the look of
It could be where you are getting them from dude, I never have problems with them...

They should do the KC10 and the B2 Spirit
I agree, seeing as they have the B1 and B52, I think both the B2 and B21 would be great
What’s your opinion on 1/200 from GJ
For the most part, they're great, haven't had any bad experiences with them so far, but I haven't collected that many 1/200 models
Wow that ATR-72 nose and prints make it look like a fokker 100 or fokker 72
Agreed
Awesome video dude
Thank you!
