Thank you ladies. As a former underground miner; a so-called, "Man's Man", I can but say how much I loathe all forms of misogyny. Misogynists are 'little bits of men'. In my opinion, women make exceptionally fine presenters of history, whether in written/ lecture, or television format ( to mention but three types). Women usually possesses a stronger natural 'feel' for deep history. Women create life, thus they are 'closer to the earth'. Women possess great depth of attention to detail: They, "know". I'm a great believer in that. Long live the woman historian and archaeologist, in all multi-myriad forms. How about that for male clumsiness! Better off below ground; out of harms way😉.
I can honestly say that I've learned so much from reading the books and watching the videos of Bettany Hughes and Mary Beard.
btw: Bettany's video on Nietzsche is absolutely stupendous. It is (or at least was) on RUclips.
Please share the link if you can!
Love Bettany ! she's a national treasure 🙂
TRULY!!!
What an interesting life! I enjoyed reading The Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, my favorite is the pyramids.
The book was so fantastic, wasn’t it?! 🤩
I think I've seen every Bettany Hughes show. She has such a cool job!
DOESN’T SHE?!?! 🤩
Mz. Bettany is a national treasure.
Truly!!
Bettany is so wonderful. I recently read her book on Venus / Aphrodite.
I LOVED that book oh my god 😍
I’m planning a trip to Türkiye this November to run the Istanbul Marathon and visit ancient sites like Troy, Ephesus, and Bodrum (Halicarnassus). Part of the plan is to see the last pillar of the Temple of Artemis, the ruins of the Mausoleum, and the bay of Rhodes where the Colossus stood. Thank you for this content! And I really appreciate the research you do into the people you interview! It provides great context for the viewer and endears you to your subjects. I think they open up more when they realize you’re invested and interested in their background.
Thank you for your interview with my favorite Historian, I really enjoyed it. I already have a copy of Bettany's book signed through Blackwells. I have been enjoying it, it was a birthday present to myself. It's funny, I thought the hanging gardens would be picked to take out, because it is not known if it existed. It is a romantic story though.
Thank you SO much for watching and for commenting!!! 🫶🏼
@@MoAnInc Thanks, I enjoyed it.
@@MoAnInc you're welcome ☺
I LOVED her in documentaries, she's awesome !!!
Amazing interview! I believe all history is amazing to know, and understand how humans came to be, helps with sciences, knowledge and understanding over all. Math history is pretty cool too, but science history has ups and downs.
Thanks for watching! 🫶🏼
Wow, these stellar interviews, Erica! What a fantastic guest and a brilliant, effervescent interview... 'The power of wonder'... so true. I love her referencing the Snake Goddess as initial inspiration (like she does in a favourite older documentary on Crete) and will 100% be buying her book. And there are already 2 more recent interviews to catch up with: need to pull a sick day from the hat...
Thank you SO MUCH for watching, Mark!!!! ✨
I love Bettany ❤
It’s hard not to 😍
Wow another legend , keep
Up the good work ✊😎
🫶🏼🕺🏻💪
What a lovely woman!! So jealous of her trip to Olympia, sounds like it was beautiful🫶🏻
UGH - DOESN’T IT???? Imagine being all alone at an ancient site with nothing but the sound of birds 🥹
@@MoAnInc A DREAM
Bottom of my list is the Hanging Gardens. A) no guarantees there was actually these gardens in Babylon. B) as an American, I’ll probably never get a chance to visit the ruins of Babylon.
I, for one, agree with Graham Hancock, we are aspecies with amnesia!
Another fantastic interview! Loved this so much
Thank youuuuu 💗
Such a well-researched and brilliant interview! ❤
