How cute was Stevie Wright here? He was so freakin' energetic in all his performances back then, adorable. One of the all time great, catchy, pop songs, the hook gets you and never lets go. So good to see you again Mike, thanks for coming back. ✌❤
Merry Christmas and a Happy anew Year Mikey. 🎄✨ Stevie and Easybeats certainly do sound like the other band you referred to. In fact their fans were just as wild. They were one of the first bands to have overseas success and showed the rest to come how to make their own music. Legends, all of them. They have two other songs called Sorry, and She’s So Fine.
Loved the Easybeats. Guitarist up front is George Young, brother of Angus Young from AC/DC. There’s were a few Young brothers in bands. Malcom Young was in AC/DC, sadly passed now.
Members included George Young and Harry Vanda. They went on to write and produce for John Paul Young, Rose Tattoo and many others. They also formed Flash & The Pan. Check out the Easybeats song Sorry.
Hey Mike, great to see you back my friend. This would get me pepped up at work, naturally when Friday arrived. I miss those nights, and days, on old Melbourne town. I missed you too, because you're a bloody legend!
This week Fifty eight years ago Friday On My Mind went to number one on 24th December 1966 it stayed at that position for two weeks and stayed on The Australian Top 20 Charts for ten weeks
Harry Vanda and George Young went on to a great song writing career but the easybeats broke up when their manager told them they had to change their music style so when they helped form AC/DC with Georges 2 younger brothers Angus and Malcolm the advice was emphatic Do not change with fashion just do your music. Boy have they made a career from that good advice.
