The Best "AS" Cast Small block Ford Cylinder head ever!!! MIXED UP BOSS 3 years later.. My Review

  • Today, I do a review of what I consider to be the best "AS" cast cylinder heads for the Small Block Ford!
Hammerhead Performance Engines cylinders have really set the bench mark for AS Cast heads. Greg Brown really did his homework as the Stock port flows 395 cfm AS cast using a 2.20" intake valve. Greg now offers CNC's versions that flow over 500 cfm and can be had in both solid Cast or Solid billet forms. This is a huge advantage for the hardcore racer that will be subjecting these heads to massive amounts of Boost or Nitrous.
I give my thoughts of these heads while doing a review of Project MIXED UP BOSS and included clips of old footage as ‪@DavidVizard‬ and myself took these heads from an idea to the Dyno and the engine being installed in my 1971 Ford F100 called Casper!

Andy...You and David are putting out the "Real Deal" video stuff. Thanks for sharing your expertise on the small block Blue Oval. Personally, Ford high performance is my favorite. I'm not interested in LS engines. Keep up the awesome work guys. I will continue to follow your progress because its just that GOOD.

I totally agree, when you see those valve covers, you automatically think it's a Boss 9! The heads are beautiful! Speaking of your shirt,i bought an issue of SS&DI every month for several years. Also Super Ford magazine were my two favorites! Congrats Andy,to make those et's from an NA engine in a 4200# truck is awesome!

HEY ANDY YOU DID A GREAT JOB BUILDING MIXED UP BOSS AND THEN PUTTING IT IN YOUR 71 FORD TRUCK, I AM IMPRESSED MY FRIEND. I AM A FORD FINNANTIC AND I TOO DRAG RACED A FORD (torino gt) and i too built the 351c on a budget as well as i got about 475hp on the dyno of cource i had torque issues as well as some carb and intake issues but i proved (like you did) too alot of people i can build a nice drag car that was reliable and i wanted too drive it to/from my local drag strip hear in the san francisco bay area calif. Any way andy great job and hope you make more videos of the truck and that impressive mixed up boss engine. mark san francisco calif.

Andy, I agree around 800hp is doable, just hard to maintain drivability. I wonder what the intake velocity looks like at partial throttle. Nice review 👍

Your mission has been accomplished and I know that you have a screaming machine. 😱 Screaming machine 💯😎🍻😉

  • @danielfouardlibertarianono8017

Bro your truck is so bad ass. I know it's a sin and breaking one of the commandments to covet your neighbor's ass but brother I love your ass (truck). And I'm right with you on the potential of that engine and those heads. But it sounds looks and acts absolutely awesome. I want to hear this dude with the ridiculous cam and a fuel air delivery system that will make it possible for the little monster hemiboss to breathe for all she's worth! And I dig your channel. You have the best instructor anyone could ever wish for. LUCKY!!!!

  • @pauljanssen7594

I think that hood lamp was really important ☺️ nice to see a good rocket I'd like to know what it does at the drag strip quarter mile.
