This rhino is the one of only 752 currently found in the country. Over 90 percent of them in Nepal are found in the area of Chitwan National Park, where they coexist with leopards, gharials, and tigers. The creature was pretty close to extinction in the last century, but with these 752 actually being an increase from 645 in 2015, this is a conservation success story with its amazing recovery thus far. The pandemic's lockdowns have helped rhinos be able to roam freely and reclaim its habitat without tourists. But there's still lots to do, as this only bumped its status from endangered to vulnerable. And the percentage of growth has decreased from 5 percent to 3 percent.

      Well no
      Wild animals
Especially big one like this guy can cause dammage withouth wanting to
Did you know why we left nature and wilderness 9000 years BC
Wilds animals were one of the main reason.
I really REALLY want something like that to be normal
      But it's impossible
      First they are dangerous
This rhino was raised by human and never really went back into the reserve and like to chill with the weird primate that feed him
Most other of his kind wouldn't be as calme
Also it's not it's place, he need green plants, calm and vegetation
But when we know that rhinoceros are giant puppy with stress issue when alone and willing to be friend with any people/animal in captivity
A sort of semi-cohabitation could be possible
If we feed them and that the village is welcoming for them, if we are able to mannage those behemoth and willing to risk of accidents that can and will injure or kill people
      It could be possible.
Same for leopard, theres'village with dozen of them
      Rules to survive,
      don't left your child alone,
Don't wander outside in the night
(The day is at Man, the night is at the leopard)
Don't sleep in a quiet and isolated place,
don't get too far from the village and house,
Always be with someone else when you leave places with sound and peoples
Try to not look into the attic/under the roof
Let the stray dogs multiply (more prey for leopard mean less chance to have human on the menu)
Sound fair and good to me, a small prixe to pay for such wildlife in our house

It was a great decision of Nepal government to hand over all the possible security measures solely to Nepalese Army in order to preserve and protect the wildlife terrains and habitats. The Army seems to have well equipped surveillance gadgets, weapons and physically fit, active and tactical manpower to handle the situation. After the entry of Nepalese Military in the preservation of wildlife, the poaching was drastically reduced within the initial years of operation and is nil since then. The poachers didn't get any chance to bypass the strict supervision and monitoring policy of the Army. Since there are least poaching activities, the population of one horned rhinos, bengal tiger and different other endangered species has escalated recently. All thanks to Nepalese Army for their wonderful contribution.

I went to a zoo in Germany once and they had the rhino cage open and it was supposed to be off limits, but they'd forgotten to close it while someone cleaned the cage. I walked in and the rhino looked up from munching it's food, stared me dead in the eye, nothing between us but a few feet of air, and then got back to eating his food. They're surprisingly docile animals if they get acclimated to humans.

I got kicked out of the zoo for playing fetch with a rhino. He brought out a stick and he dropped it out the bars, I wandered into a roped off area, grabbed the stick, and threw it to the back of the cage. The rhino happily grabbed the stick and dropped it out of the cage, then it paused and seemed to want a pet on its nose for good measure. Well, I petted him, he snorted, then motioned towards the stick. Spent the next hour playing with the rhino until a crowd formed and then they kicked me out.

The Lord is coming back soon, are you ready for his return? Are you dead inside? Or are you alive in Christ? Does your soul belong to God? Have you repented and repented of your sins? Who do you want to serve during your short life? God, your idols or even yourself? Your riches or the Lord? Your passions or Christ? We are on this earth for a short time, and life is only a vapor (James 4:14), soon we will vanish and the flesh will turn to dust. What will you leave your children? Are you living a life that is holy? Because God commands: Be holy because I am Holy, (Lev 20: 7) and he also tells us that whoever is a friend of this world is an enemy of God (Jas 4: 4). Now is the time to believe in Jesus, now is the time to glorify God, to be the light of the world (Mt 5:14). Do not be ashamed of the Gospel of God, because it is only He, the King of kings and Lord of lords who gives eternal life, salvation to those who repent of their sins and believe in Him. Jesus is more than a prophet, He is God made man and left His life on the cross for us, so by grace and faith we can be saved. This is the greatest miracle God has given us, and it's good for you too. God loves you, but sin will not enter His Kingdom. Has the Blood of Jesus Christ washed you and cleansed you of your sins? Are you a son or daughter of the Living God? Confess the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead and you will be saved. BELIEVE IN THE GOSPEL AND ABANDON YOUR SIN. THE JUDGE OF THE WHOLE UNIVERSE IS RETURNING. DECIDE NOW TO SERVE THE TRUE AND LIVING GOD BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE. Do not harden your heart, do not be insensitive to these words, but let yourself be saved by the Lord Jesus.

nursed from birth for a couple of generations is how you domesticate most species. Excellent job, Nepal!

The Soviet begun experiment shows that domestication may take 90 generations. We need to domesticate other wild animals before we know. BTW, the experiment to domesticate foxes started under Stalin as part of long term research to see if "tamer" humans could be bred.

Impressive animal but there's something wrong with this picture : rhinos shouldn't parade around on the boulevard, this magnificent animal should be in its natural habitat, just like countless other wild animals !!

This particular one however is used to humans.
