An a newcomer to this sport, watching some of these guys, it really is just amazing. So many of these guys (and girls) are unimaginably good. I can’t even imagine how many hours, days, months, years, etc they are ahead of the rest of the general population starting in Jiu Jitsu.
I’m looking forward to seeing Gordon compete in both his Super Fight & Division. It’ll be sick to win double gold again. Plus I’m excited to see how the 66kg division plays out. That division is definitely one of my favorites and it’s super stacked.

The false reap has become such a ubiquitous and dominant attacking position recently, it’ll be interesting to see if it is over utilized this year, or if there will be a new meta debuted.
That’s a good point Tim. Usually world class players will save their tech for this level of competition and then it becomes the “new wave” and new standard for high level grappling. Always leveling up!

There's 10 year old kids that will pass him up in 10 15 years...that's just how it goes..the generations coming up always learn faster and are better. Motocross is a prime example. No one is the best for long
i don't know, the only way the future generations will have a chance to potentially be better than him is if they have the same level of dedication, drive, and work ethic. Even then there are no guarantees any will surpass him. Look at Roger no one has surpassed him yet he retired years ago it may never happen.

Roger won his weight and absolute in 2005 with all 8 wins by submission. No one has won their weight and the super fight before because the guys doing the super fight have never competed in their division before.

You cant say sport of jiu jitsu if youre not the best with the gi also , he is the greatest grappler no gi for sure now, but put him in the gi against cyborg or buchecha guys that have won adcc and multiple times world champs with the gi also, not to mention the goat marcelo garcia

Good questions. People misunderstand Gordon. He acts abrasive and cocky to get under people's skin, but he's all around a good dude. He just has little patience for the bullshit and tells it how it is. I hope he and Garry kill it out there. Garry deserves a belt already. He reminds me of Ken Flo. Always was so close but never able to finally capitalize on the final round.
