I had this op two weeks ago. The surgeon pierced my stomach with the needle that inserts the gas! Mercifully, I've had almost no pain. I actually WANTED the old-fashioned 'one slice' appendectomy, but none of the three doctors I consulted would do it. And I waited for the best-rated surgeon instead of going with the chop shop guy who would have done it weeks earlier.

Just had mine 3 days ago my surgeon was amazing and picked it up before it just about burst it was septic and I needed suction cleaning out of my pelvis but apart from that surgery was a major success

Appendicitis does scare me. I never know if it will strike me. I even wonder how often anyone can get it, or if something almost anyone can get.

It’ll most commonly affect you at a young age but in rare cases adults need theirs removed later in life, for example last year my dad had his appendix removed and he’s in his late 40s, either way he had it removed just like this video and he was ok in 2 weeks

I was recently diagnosed with appendix stones (appendicoliths) on a CT abdomen pelvis for what was thought to be a kidney stone on an X-ray. I’d never heard of appendix stones until I read the CT report. Since they can increase the risk of developing appendicitis related complications, I decided I wanted to get mine out to avoid an ER visit. I’m in the process of scheduling surgery as I met with the surgeon on Thursday.

I'm guessing this is what happened when I had an appendectomy when I was 3. Though I only have a scar coming from my belly button so I don't know if the other two scars are just not visible or if they only needed one. I wonder if the appendix would be bigger if it was about to rupture since thats basically what almost happened to me 😅
