Paulie was a snake in the grass, while Chrissy was loyal to a fault. After all that, Chrissy still reassured Paulie that he wouldn't leave him. Something about the absurdity of that, along with the events of that day, made Chrissy snap for a moment. So many life and death predicaments simultaneously. Will I starve? Will I freeze? Will the Russian find me? Will Paulie choke me in my sleep to cover his ass? How pissed is Tony gonna be if he manages to find us? Too crazy to process it all.
